I think it's interesting to look at the recent experience with Trek.
For decades, producers had been trying to get Sir Patrick to reprise his role as JLP, and he had always refused. After 20 years, he finally agreed, on the basis that the new show be something different, and not just a TNG reboot. SO he signed up for 3 seasons of "Picard."
The first season was crap. The even "brought back" Data, jus to kill him again, as a way of finally saying goodbye. The 2nd season, was actually re-written because it was deemed "Too Trek," and it was even worse. By season 3, producers had enough, and the last season was literally nothing but pure TNG Nostalgia-Porn. Not only did they bring back the whole crew, but if the writing and the style of the show was a like a giant multi-episode TNG story. They even brought Data back from the dead, again!
Prior to this they had released "Discovery" as a supposed TOS Prequel. It was so hated, that even before the first season finished, they decided to save it by re-introducing The Enterprise, Captain Pike, AND Spock. These reintroduced characters proved so much more popular, that they were literally given their own show, to replace Discovery as the prequel. (With discovery fucked off 300 years into the future.)
My point? Bioware tried to reinvent the wheel with Andromeda, and failed miserably. Not only was it a badly made game, but it was so unlike Mass Effect that players weren't willing to forgive it's faults. Given the Budget, Time, & Resource constraints, if they try to make another "Discovery," then I fear they will fail again.
I understand that as creative people, that's what they want to do, to make something new, fresh, and exciting. But as we've seen with Trek, long-established Franchises are both a blessing and a curse. Nobody goes into a McDonalds looking for Pizza, Fried Chicken, or Stir-Fry.

Hello,
I am in a very difficult financial situation and feel stuck. I took out loans through credit cards and loan apps to cover expenses for my education and marriage. However, the debt has been growing, and it’s becoming overwhelming.
For the last six months, I’ve only been paying the minimum amount, but now I can’t even do that since I lost my job last month. One of my credit cards has been overdue for three months, and it’s severely impacted my CIBIL score, making it impossible to get any further loans.
I’ve discussed this with my family, but they are also struggling and can’t help me. I’ve reached out to friends and relatives, but unfortunately, I haven’t received any positive response. I’m considering settling the loans, but I know that can only happen after 3-4 months of non-payment and after dealing with recovery agents. Even then, I don’t have the funds to settle the debt.
Right now, I’m preparing for job interviews, but the stress from this situation is making it hard to focus. Any advice or support from people who have gone through similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Even small help at this stage would mean a lot to me.

I’m heading back to my college town in a couple of weeks, and I’m thinking about reconnecting with an old friend/crush. For context, I’ve graduated, but she’s still a student there. We haven’t spoken in about 1.5 years, and our “friendship” quietly ended.
To sum it up: I told her I liked her, but she ended up dating someone else. I was fine with being friends, but she’d cross boundaries. For example, she brought her boyfriend to my house for a party I invited her to. She also sat front row with him at a Valentine’s Day love themed event I was on stage hosting. The worst was when she sent me a Snap of them in bed together while we were mid-conversation on Snapchat. That’s when I instantly stopped talking to her and didn’t argue or anything. We just haven’t spoke at all since.
At the time, I don’t think she realized how much this hurt me. She came off as immature and maybe just didn’t care about my feelings. Looking back, i think she was just an attention whore and really not used to many guys liking her. She’s not necessarily anyone i feel most guys paid attention to especially in high school and so on. She also played with my brain a lot leaving me to think she had some type of interest but idk. For example, before she started dating him, she did things like dress up as me for a themed Halloween party (using my real clothes, which she borrowed from my closet), randomly text or DM me, and even start long conversations when we’d bump into each other. Again at the time of these interactions she knew I liked her.
Fast forward to now: she and that guy broke up, and recently she’s been interacting with me on social media—following me on Letterboxd, liking my IG posts/ watching stories, and voting and interacting to Snapchat polls. It feels like she might be open to talking again.
Here’s where I need advice: how should I reach out to her? I don’t have any ill intent—I just want to catch up, talk about the past to get some closure, and maybe rebuild a friendship. Again we never had an argument that ended the friendship, I just never responded to the pic she sent of her and her ex and never spoke to her again even after she tried to reach out a couple of times. Should I propose something casual like a walk on the beach, or should I ask her to dinner? Drive around town?
Bonus: If the conversation goes well and the vibe is there, I’d like to shoot my shot and ask if she’d want to spend the night at my hotel. That’s not the main goal, but it’s something I’ve thought about. I’m just not sure how to approach it without making it weird or forcing anything. I ofc would only ask this part in the moment if the vibes are right and not over text when I initially ask to talk.
Any advice would be appreciated!
