Hi,
I wanted to reach out to managers who have been in the industry for a while now and experienced to provide their perspective.
Im a mid level subject matter expert in a highly growing field within the engineering industry. During my time in corporate America I had the pleasure to work with phenomenal managers/leaders and some mediocre individuals. There is always room for improvement and i will give new leaders/ managers a hard time.
I started job searching for a new job in the market and i have been fully booked with in person interviews and phone interviews for the last three weeks, and hiring managers have been calling me directly. I have built a reputation in the industry of being approachable and easy to work with. Most of my interviews last at-least for an hour and can easily stretch beyond this, in some cases to the 2 hour mark. I do ask good questions and I remain truthful and authentic to what I’m looking for and how I can enhance/ or be of great service to the team. I’m truly at my core a team player and i do find ways to accommodate as much support and understanding, even to difficult team members.
I started to focus on my manager personality and his experience leading teams during the interview. The logic behind this, is to see how my manage leaders managerial style and communication style is like and if this would be something I can work with long term. Personally, I find empathetic, soft spoken leaders who put their team first before themselves, are natural leaders. I also respect leaders who have a team of seniors under them and continue to foster opportunities for training and hiring young people to learn from seniors in their team as a big positive, showing true skills of long term professional development within the team. Leaders that show up to the office and have a policy to reach out for weekly one on ones based on mutual understanding and relationship building ( mentorship) is a truly a great skill to master. I had the privilege to work with such great leaders in my industry, until I moved to a higher position for continued growth within a newer less experienced manager.
Based on my analysis and expectations, is it acceptable that candidates also judge potential hiring managers during the interview stage to better document and take note of the qualities i seek in a leader other than just impressing anyone i meet just to get a job? I started to prioritize the relationship with my manager personality more and his experience than the job itself, as great leaders can make any difficult job work while an easy job with a mediocre manager difficult.
What is your perspective and opinion on my expectations on finding a job with a manager during the hiring preoccupied?

2025.01.23 05:02 Crash2Pieces S330 Stopped Working (Mostly)
After the most recent Firmware update it seems anything sensor related stopped working. Can't detect anything, won't record anything, won't auto lock, etc. It works if I ring it or manual open it, that's it
I've done everything I could think. Battery out, restart the HimeBase 3, toggle settings. This has happened before (when I first got it) and shortly after an update came out to fix it. But, this is starting to seem like a recurring issue, I have it for security and it can't secure. I love the products when they work but they're almost as unreliable, if not more, than the Nest Doorbell that I had at this point.

I honestly don’t think stimming is a autistic only trait i think it’s a universal psychological trait and the only difference is the gestures we tend to adopt are a bit more wide ranging.
for example how many people tap/drum their hand half the time without even consciously noticing.
I’m not particularly good with putting my thoughts into text. but when i think on it enough to notice things i do and others do it makes me think the only difference is some gestures are noticed as strange/different so are paid attention too while the rest are just ignored as normal.
I’m curious what you all think.

I'll be moving to Canada soon, and my initial plan is to work as a Dental assistant/admin( hopefully I'll land a job) and then try for AFK.
Since the ndeb process is a long, tedious and money draining one, what is the best way to approach it? -Dental assistant/admin and then ndeb process
-I've also heard of ppl directly going for the hygienist course for 2 years/18 months and then working as a hygienist and earning a stable income and then approaching ndeb
-Dental assistant/admin then ndeb and if they fail, then go for the hygiene route
Or are there any other routes? Your suggestion are appreciated :)

In the campaign i'm in, one of the players can shapeshift into a cat, the character I am playing can shrink down to 3 inches tall. While my character is shrunk, he retains his normal weight (160 lbs). Is there a way we can make his cat transformation able to carry my shrunken character on his back, and not be affected by his weight? Asking because it would be funny if I could ride it into battle.

Hi guys, hope your all having great trips so far!
I’m staying in langkawi in Malaysia at the moment but will be making my way to Thailand in the next few days - I’ve been trying to work out the best way to get into the south but a lot of the routes look quite expensive or I’ll have to go back on myself to come in through a different entry point.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience of heading from langkawi or if anyone had any tips on how it is best done or where to start from.
Was hoping to start around Krabi/Koh Lanta but open to other routes too.
