2025.01.23 09:27 milomathmilo Using features that are non-null for only 40% of the data?
I'm working with a scientific dataset that is small and quite messy. I've worked to add as much extra info as possible by looking through papers where the data points are from, because those features are important conditions for the target variable, but they're not filled out for every row, nor can they be. For example, the dataset has 20 completely filled features, with ~500 rows, while 3 of the features have around maybe 150-200 entries filled in, and not for the same data points either.
They're important deciding factors for the target variable, but I can't figure out how to include them. Computational data augmentation won't be possible here as there's no certainty that the info would be even remotely close to the actual conditions present.
Is there a way to include this into any well known regression framework? Or any models thar are able to incorporate columns that have null values? Currently I've tried random foresta with the base data without extra features, and a feed forward neural network as well, but idk how to make use of the other info. Any help would be appreciated.

I have been playing competitive for about 1-2 weeks now and have thought it's been fairly good matches.
Hover around gold now and the matchmaking the last 1-2 says have just feeled horrible. I just had 6 games in a row where we could not get out of spawn.
Getting stomped is a huge understatement.
And sure, i have been on the stomping side as well, but that is not as painful for obvious reasons.
Coming from overwatch, i had so hoped for better matchmaking.

Can you EV train Pokémon in violet ? How does ev training work again last I delved into may have been emerald I think. I know defeating certain Pokémon give a point towards a certain stat and when you hit let’s say 10 points you will get one ev into that stat. I know now you use the picnic feature to get eggs are egg moves still available if so how could I check what moves can be passed on. Would the shiny boost from sandwiches also affect eggs or just wild? Is there a sandwich to get egg and shiny boost together

Scored 83%ile in CAT (fucked up LRDI)
Scored 88.8%ile in XAT (fucked up QADI)
With practically no work ex and messed up acads, is there any chance of getting into good tier 2 colleges like GIM, TAPMI, IMI D, FORE D, IRMA?
GLIM C rules out since their minimum percentage (graduation) requirement is 60.

So I am playing Rogue against Rhino (first game with Rogue). Rhino has 2 ATQ and is attacking me.
I give a face down card to Rhino and don’t defend. I reveal the boost card, it’s a 1 boost card. I play Preemptive Strike from hand, dealing 1 damage to Rhino. I then remove 1 counter from Judoka Skill, putting Rhino’s attack to 0, since Preemptive Strike has (Defend). Finally, I exhaust Unflappable and draw a card.
Defend plays confuse me a bit, and I’m unsure of all of this is legal.

2025.01.23 09:27 Personal_Health_6970 Cat is eventually marking. For the first time since he’s with us. Why?
We’ve had a cat for 3 weeks now. He is 14 months old and very sweet, very affectionate. He usually sleeps in his scratching post and comes to our bedroom door around 5 a.m. (definitely too early) and meows because he wants food. Last night he slept in our bed, and this morning at 5 a.m. he again wanted food. We fed him, and then closed the bedroom door. He meowed for a few minutes after finishing his food. When we got up at 7 a.m., he was lying in his scratching post, sleeping. Very cute. But then we discovered spots in front of the bedroom door, and his cushion was also damp in some areas.
Could it be that he marked? And if so, why? By the way, he’s not neutered yet.

Hi. I opened my first e-commerce shop last year with no experience. I managed to create a brand around one product and through whisper marketing/promotion on one forum I managed to get about 400 orders fulfilled.
At the time I had no idea how to develop the shop, I thought advertising on Meta would be a good idea but everyone on Reddit was writing at the time that Meta ads were going through a hard time and everyone was just burning through money. I was afraid I would lose my savings and didn't go into it - I suspended the shop.
I'm now working on relaunching that shop, improving everything from the product to payment methods, delivery, UX, adding other products too. I have a proven product and I know people want it. However, I know that the biggest challenge for me will be to generate traffic to the shop that will be converted into sales and it is with this issue that I come to you.
I have no idea about Meta Ads, Google Ads etc. I also do not want to hire an agency to start with as I would like to invest the money in advertising and I know that agencies can be expensive.
I have money from another business that I can reinvest in e-commerce but I wouldn't want to burn through that money in a bad way to no avail.
I need some guidance on how to get started, with what budget, when to turn the campaign off if it doesn't sell, when to increase and by how much budget when it does sell? Generally what do you think I should know before starting because I know there are still frequent posts on Reddit that even expert campaigns suddenly stop selling. It honestly worries me and I don't know if I can handle it but I've given myself time to prepare. I'm starting in 2 months and want to understand as much as possible in the meantime so I don't make highly costly mistakes at the very beginning.

It's for a South African start-up looking to assist with ECG interpretation. We currently have a Physician (Professor of Internal Medicine) on board but are looking for further expertise in ECGs. We have filed a provisional patent on the concept.
Ideally, we are looking for a retired cardiologist - someone with time on their hand who loves academia/teaching.
We don't want to mislead anyone - there are bad things about this project:
1) We are currently self-funding this project so can't pay any salary for this work being done. We can, however, offer equity (open to discussion) if we find a willing team member. (But it will be rewarding if we can accomplish the goal)
2) There is no guarantee of success. Our current team members have taken a risk on this project as we feel it will work - that's just the risk with a startup

Hi everyone,
Just looking at getting my ticket and the NHS discount ticket says I need a valid NHS ID.
But in the FAQ it mentions bringing a valid Blue Light Card.
I work in the care sector, so have a Blue Light Card but I am not an employee of the NHS, so I'm a little hesitant to purchase it if one of these bits of information is incorrect.
Does anyone have any experience of using the Blue Light Card at Trees for entry?
