TLDR: A doctor sent me a bill for a surgery I had 4+ years ago and I want to tell them this is BS and I’m not paying it. Looking for help on what my legal rights are.
Details: I had surgery in 2020. The claim was processed by my insurance company and I paid the provider the amount I was responsible for. In November 2024, I received a collections notice for the services. Apparently what happened is that the insurance company overpaid the provider, and after auditing and catching their mistake, they reprocessed the claim and sent an adjusted bill to the provider. The provider paid them the extra amount and is now trying to collect it from me. The first bill for the additional amount was sent to me in November 2024, and the bill says it’s over 90 days past due and is about to be referred to collections, probably because it is being calculated based on the 2020 date of service. They won’t budge and are adamant that I have to pay them this amount.
So my question is, isn’t there a statute of limitations on when a provider can bill me? I literally haven’t heard about this surgery for 4.5 years because this adjustment nonsense was happening between the insurance company and the provider for the last few years without my knowledge, and now the provider is billing me. I’m inclined to just formally dispute it and let them get dragged through whatever process they have to go through to deal with it.

I saw some previous threads about stomach pain on bupropion...
I wonder if this med is 'so hard' for our stomach?
For me, bupropion was the best antidepressant I ever took. I took all of the existing ;)
SNRI - effexor - no GI issue. Similar to other snri or ssri.
But both bupropion and methylfenidate (I know it's not an AD, but I also have ADHD) are not acceptable for my stomach...
I suffer from inflammatory bowel disease. I had 2 surgeries.
I also have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which is worse while taking ssri and snri.
I wanted to come back to bupropion, but again after only one pill I have stomach pain... When my bowels are now quite okay after the second surgery.
The only time when I have now stomach ache is when I try to take bupropion or MPH. The worst....
On Modafinil I do not have this kind of reaction. Even on 400 mg. Neutral for my GI.
Is it because both bupropion and MPH are somehow connected with amphetamines?
My doc told me that he won't give me Vyvanse, even just for trying. As on MPH my stomach aches are severe. I could even end up in a hospital.
So I feel horrible with the fact that I can't treat my ADHD and CFS. I can't function normally because of the CFS.
In the country I live bupropion is only available as SR. No XL option.

 | About 2 weeks ago one morning after a big storm I saw my Lilly pilly hedge has gone all droopy. This was after a solid month of fairly consistent rain too (I’m in Brisbane). I spent some time shaking the branches and heaps of water came off and some of the trees literally bounced back upright after shaking off the water. But others - mainly the bigger ones didn’t. And then it just kept raining anyway. I was hoping after the good week of hot days and little rain (although still a bit most days) they would dry out and bounce back but they are still droopy and now some of the branches are starting to die. What can I do to get them to bounce back? Should I be tying them back with a stake and string? Some of them are close to 2.5m high. Should I just be patient?
