2025.01.23 17:03 sla3e Alternative workout classes with a similar OTF vibe?
I'm wondering if other folks have found other national chain workout classes that focus on strength/lifting without the high-impact aspect? I love OTF, the community, and the focus on individual progress and coaching, but I need to take a break from sprinting and jumping specifically as I work out an injury. I do lift classes but want to incorporate something else. I've been thinking about F45 or Maxx Challenge but not sure if the vibe is similarly welcoming and "work at your pace/weight" as my OTF studio is. I'm in Northern Jersey and sadly no Burn Bootcamp by me. Other suggestions welcome!

2025.01.23 17:03 MattCaseyAuthor Are comets, meteors, and other astronomical events wreaking havoc on Earth a common writing trope?
So I'm writing a sci-fi/horror novel that is set in a world where some event causes every woman between 13 and 50 to give birth spontaneously. I was considering having the cause be a mysterious comet that's discovered in the prologue, but making it not very clear in the novel about what the cause is, and often dropping hints that the cause may be something else entirely different (a nuclear meltdown in Russia; a biological weapon attack in the Middle East; a strange virus that originated in South America) but I feel like the comet/meteoastronomical event is sort of a trope in sci fi writing and the like.
I was thinking of maybe the origin being some escaped scientific experiment that has been infected with a new virus to test, but that also feels trope like as well. What do you all think?

We’ve been using Printix across our clients for years with great success. However, starting in September of 2024, we’ve had nothing but trouble, including:
- Printix-based printer icons going unresponsive (trying to print to one would crash the app you’re printing from) with the only solution being uninstalling/reinstalling the Printix agent.
- The Printix service failing to start on boot, requiring a uninstall/reinstall of the Printix agent.
Can anyone corroborate the problems we’re seeing?

Hi, I'm confused, so I decided to ask.
About an hour ago, a mod post went up that links are now banned on this sub. That post is now locked, hence this.
Am I to understand it that all links to external sites are now prohibited, or is there a list of sites that are allowed? Lots of the community uses sites like fabrary or fabrec and I usually point people to those. Am I in for a ban in case I link to those as well?
