So, sent in my s23 in the original box, made videos and pics, and received after 8!! weeks an email telling me the phone didnt turn on/screen not functioning. Immediately got on a chat. told them. was promised a quick reaction. 48 hrs later nothing.
So I called in. Sugar sweet, explained my situation. They try to blame me for not having the phone charged fully when shipping in (is that even a thing?) I made her aware that up tp my best knowledge the phone was fully charged but 8 weeks later that is not really something I can guarantee but since i have a million photos and video I can send it to them. But pointing out that that wasn't written in the return information.
The lady tried to push once more, I offered her several mb videos and pics to check and while on the phone I get a email that all is resolved and I wont be charged
I hate games. last time this will happen.

hello hello - changing up the posting style to perhaps draw in more responses, maybe it'll work? maybe not? either way, season 7 of Diablo IV just launched so it's big chillin' for moi
i'm a 30 year old male born and raised in the UK - been around these parts for a long time (not counting my account age) and met some of the most wonderful people, including my fiancé of three years - currently in the process of uprooting my life, getting the proper documents and moving to the US :)

Has anyone ever asked for an ID request of a snake they were handling, that was highly venomous or a snake with medically significant venom?
I’m always wondering because several times people have posted snakes that look like a Kingsnake to me and I’m like “wow I wanna touch that little cute snake!” (I’m Californian, and know nothing, but I’m incredibly captivated) and it turns out to be something gnarly, like a krait lol.

2025.01.23 19:50 Large-Eye5088 Breaking into a tight knit group: Manager with paid 'volunteer' staff

I've been in non-profit for 20+ years in leadership, management and individual contributor roles. I joined a small nonprofit, as the 5th staff member, as a program manager. I'm responsible for (3) staff who are funded by a gov't grant ($16k/year, FT work, 1 year term) who are 22-26 yr old post-grads. We're fully remote. The current group ends in May and we'll 'hire' another 3 in June.
As far as output and outcomes, they're amazing at what they do. They've added great capacity to the organization that was once just the CEO/founder, volunteers and few Bd members. One staff member was put on a PIP and never responded to it so their tasks were moved to someone else while they focused on what they were good at, another has a 2nd job, and the other assumed a lot of tasks and says their happy with their workload. I've met with each one to onboard with their area of work. I'm working to understand the workflow and how each fit into the mission.
On week 3 I've finally realized how tight knit they are and the culture includes almost communication via email and/or chat except for when the CEO sends things out. There's no chance to get to know anyone, as a co-worker. Everything I know about them is from the CEO.
I am cognizant of how I approach each one and the CEO has helped me understand about their work and progress. The CEO admits to having been lenient (their words) versus a typical employee which is why the Bd encouraged the hiring of a PM, and so they could focus on fundraising. I make sure I ask how they're doing before or referencing something from a meeting to see how things are going before I make an ask or assign a task. I'm not fake in my intent. I do care/am interested. I want to forge some type of friendly engagement so I don't feel like an outsider.
Positive: The CEO isn't fast tracking my orienting, which is refreshing for my industry. Nothing is on fire. My boss and I get along well. She's appreciative of my joining the team.

Soon, many of our local residents will be like other communities and face some tough choices. Many people will be screaming that illegal immigrants should be deported. We have one problem: deportation is not listed as a lawful penalty for illegal immigration.
It's surprising, but it's important that we recognize that truth. 8 U.S. Code § 1325 - "Improper entry by alien" outlines these facts. The fine is $50 to $250.
Yes, there are other penalties for special cases. If you can't pay the fine, they could jail an alien. If there's a marriage by deception, the penalties are higher. If someone is running a human smuggling operation or other business that evades immigration officials, then the penalties are higher. But, for the average offender, the penalty is a fine of $50 to $250, under the law.
We need to look carefully at these laws. Our leaders at almost every level have gone hog wild with saying the wrong things about illegal immigration. For example, we've seen "Border Czar" Tom Hogan on TV talking about how he would enforce the law. Well, he's not.
If our leaders were going to enforce the law about illegal immigration, then they'd be collecting those $50 fines. With 11 million illegals, a $50 fine each would be $0.55 billion. Instead, we're going to spend sixty times that throwing people out, illegally.
Yes, if we were following the law, then our leaders would be talking about collecting those fines. There would be court sessions to determine if the person had paid the fine yet. There would reporting of paid fines so that an immigrant's rights wouldn't be violated by pressuring them into paying the fine repeatedly in an unfair fashion. Maybe we'd even plan for following actions to determine what we could do for a person who paid their fines in accordance with the law and who wanted to continue to stay.
Instead, we're talking of deporting them. Deportation is not a listed lawful penalty. But, that's not going to stop the most closed minded people at the top. They're not going to follow the law. They're not going to collect the fines. They'll deport people in the nastiest fashion possible.
Each time we deport someone, we will be violating their rights. We'll be witnessing our leaders committing crimes. We can't just ignore the laws while saying that we're following them. We have to actually follow them. That means collecting fines, not deporting people.
Now, I don't doubt that we've got a lot of folks who think deportation should be the penalty. But, that's not what the law says. The law says the penalty is a $50 fine. If that's not good enough for people, then notice that they've had years, if not decades, to change the law and they haven't. They didn't make the law say what some of them think it should say. The law does not support deportation as a penalty for illegal immigration.
And this is the crux of the problem. They're not going to enforce the law. They're going to ignore the law and do what they want instead.
Don't let them. Require the fine and deny deportation.
We need to get our heads right about this, and what the law actually says, because soon federal officials under Trump will be pressuring Tennesseans. We should not let them pressure us into doing the wrong thing. We need to follow the law.
Get smart now. A storm of wrongdoing is coming our way.
