2025.01.23 19:46 nononono1000 Advice on self-levelling floor
I understand this is not strictly DIY however I’ve found this community to be very helpful so hopefully this is ok.
I am replacing the floor in the bedrooms of my flat and decided on rubber floor. It is very thin and prone to show any unevenness and therefore needs careful preparation of the substrate. My partner and I attempted to do this ourselves (last image) and whilst it overall turned out very well it was not perfect. We got a reputable flooring company in to quote for laying the floor.
They advised us that the subfloor was not smooth enough and that any imperfection would show through over time. A second layer of self-leveller was recommended and it was promised this would be perfectly smooth. They seemed very professional and experienced and we agreed to go ahead with this despite the whole quote being very expensive.
The company has now done the second layer and we are shocked by the results. The subfloor is clearly much worse than it was beforehand. We have not had a chance to call them yet but will do so first thing tomorrow.
Additionally they poured the self-leveller down the hole the radiator pipes come through, resulting in concrete on the floor downstairs and on an expensive wardrobe.
What would the best course action be here? Of course we are hoping they will be apologetic and keen to resolve the situation but I want to prepared in case they aren’t. Thank you!

2025.01.23 19:46 cuppycake02 I grew up as the weird child in the family and now i'm the 'normal one'. I don't even know how I feel about it
When growing up I was the weird one because i was into anime and cosplay and kpop and all that jazz. I wasn't really shunned by the family or anything, but I was clearly no ones favorite. My gtandmother on moms side preffered my oldest sister, her husband my youngest. Other grandma loved my niece en granddad was just present i guess.
Then we grew up and I now have a family with my husband, own a house and have 2 children and have a good job. And I'm the only one in my family that did it in a "successful" way or something.
My oldest sister is a single mother in a relationship with a cheating ass, but bends over backwards to make it seem that she has this perfect life (which no one is fooled by). My youngest sister is a trans woman who made selfpitty into a personality trait. They argued over which one of them was my grandfathers favorite when preparing his funeral.
I don't think I resent anyone in my family over it, but it sucks that I had to endure so many weird looks and the only reason my family thinks of me as the succesful one now is because I "did things by the book" while my siblings took a turn for the worse...
I don't know how to feel about it because I really am happy with my life right now, but I could use some advice on how to place it and put it to rest.

2025.01.23 19:46 DELta714 About to lose it on my ASD son who has the flu
So, on Friday, my ASD son (6.5 years old, level 2) and I both came down with the flu. He was incredibly sick so I took him to the doctor where they confirmed it was indeed the flu but he also had a sinus infection so they prescribed him penicillin. Being so sick myself, I feel like I’m going to lose it on him because of his behaviors while sick. For whatever reason, when he gets sick, he becomes enraged and violent. This morning he hit me in the face and spit out his penicillin all over me. He’s been screaming and crying at me, refusing to eat and drink. He got so dehydrated we almost contemplated taking him to the ER, but to avoid that bill, we literally forcefed him applesauce and water. I know he doesn’t feel well. But you know what! Neither do I! And I literally feel like I’m being abused by him. I’m just trying to rest on the couch and he keeps coming up to me and hitting me and running away making these wimpering noises. This is soooo fucking miserable.

If you're using a custom TickRate, does anything higher than 30 work for you guys?
No matter what I set it at, it never runs at anything higher than 30. I can use lower values fine, but not higher.
t’s not performance related because it stays a constant 30 on my 12700k, it feels hard-capped. Maybe a recent update put a limit on it?
