I'm asking because I'm thinking about holding off on updating a fic of mine until I've written the rest of it in full. I began the process of updating as I write, but realized a few chapters in that that isn't really working for me. I want to put the fic on a temporary "hiatus" until I've finished writing it, but I'm worried what my readers might think of that. What are your opinions?

I'm being evicted and have no job, I'm willing to do any work I can physically perform. I've applied for social services and been denied for SNAP. I'm 47 years old, worked all of my life. Temp agencies and employment agencies are no help. I've applied for the catholic church aid and they have not come through for me. Are there any old school anarchist mutual aid folks out there who can help me find a job?

I was with my ex for 2 years, I bought him a dog, went to another country to get the pup and bring it back. I treated him like I’ve never treated anyone before, you know the whole, meal everytime he’d come over, massages and nurturing him after a long shift. Any time he needed something I couldn’t really say no. I saw the dog 3 times within the time we were together and that includes me bringing the pup back to the country. I bought dog every fortnight because he’d ask me to. Anyway I didn’t get to see the dog because he was raising it with his other girlfriend and the money he’d ask for was spent taking her out or buying stuff for her. I told the girl everything when I found out and their year long relationship ended. He asked me for a favour and asked me to help take care of the dog 2 days of the week otherwise he’d have to give it to a dog home so it can be relocated and a family can take care of it, which I think is the right move, I don’t really think he deserves the dog and think he should give it away to a loving family. I don’t resent the dog but I’m struggling to make a decision. He said this would be a detrimental heartbreak or his first ever heart break if he lost his dog and i’m the only one that he can count on to help.
Do I put history aside and help or let him lose his dog?

Les sénateurs PS ont annoncé qu’ils voteraient contre le texte au Sénat et tenteront de réintégrer leurs priorités dans le texte à l’occasion de la commission mixte paritaire. Pour tenir cet objectif d’économies, le gouvernement a proposé, en séance, de nombreux amendements de dernière minute pour réduire les budgets de plusieurs ministères. Des “coups de rabot” dénoncés par la gauche avec notamment une réduction de 800 millions d’euros sur l’aide au développement, une baisse d’un milliard pour le logement et l’écologie, de 600 millions sur la recherche et l’enseignement supérieur. I want to replace the metal skid shoes that come with it for composite plastic ones and I already purchased them. My issue is more so, I have smaller 3/8 socket tool set that came with the house and it worked perfectly with the few wrenches it came with for the oil change. But I don’t seem to have anything to remove the bolts on the skid shoes. Can anyone recommend a tool set for a job like this ? Would a 1/4 mechanic tool set from Harbor Freight do the trick ?

2025.01.23 21:10 thebattleangel99 Rover — pet sitting. Is it legal if I signed up to be a pet sitter on Rover? Or is there something I would need in Ontario specifically to make it legal?
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I have never had any job before, I am disabled on disability and just trying for several months now to find something to help me make a little extra money to sustain myself and my own animals (I have 2 service dogs).
I was told about Rover. But I am afraid of getting into trouble. I don’t know if it’s even legal to just sign up to be a pet sitter / dog walker or if I need to do / get something so that it is legal for me to pet sit in Ontario.

I've noticed people keep running 3 strategists which I don't hate, it's part of what makes open queue fun, but waiting out those strategists ults is rough from the other side and though we could do the same or yes try to find counters (I know theres other solutions sure) but wouldn't an anti-heal ability on a character be pretty cool? It would allow for shifting the comp a little bit when that happens. It could be like what wolverine is to tanks but for some strategists, at LEAST their ults would be sick. Thoughts?

Hi all, took my new Ruger mk iv 22/45 to to the range yesterday and had a lot of issues.
It felt like nearly every mag I had a failure to feed, failure to extract, or double feed. At one point a round even fell down behind the trigger (I didn’t know that was possible).
I was shooting federal 22 automatch 40 grain. Probably around 200 rounds.
I stripped the gun today and lightly applied clenzoil to basically everywhere.
Really disappointing first day! Any tips to mitigate this?

Hey ya’ll, getting crashes upon startup with the message: Failed initializing shader: fullscreen_tri.
Trying to install Vanilla Inspired Water for OpenMW, however this happens when trying install just about any other shader pack as well. I even tried replacing fullscreen_tri in the resources folder with my working out-of-the-box backup original shaders to the same effect. Anyone else experience this?

2025.01.23 21:10 peeaches Are Castle car dealerships honorable/reputable? Former Pugi customer.
Two years ago I bought my first brand-new car, from a Pugi dealership in Downers Grove.
I'd had good experiences there, one time taking a car in to get something looked at, and they looked it at free of charge and then found out the issue in question wouldn't be covered under warranty (which i'd expected but went in anyways for some reason just to see how much it would cost to replace)- and they quoted me a fair price on the part and labor. I ended up not going through them and just bought the part on my own and installed it myself, but they were super nice the whole time and still washed my car for me, just liked the treatment generally speaking I suppose. When I bought my car in 2023 it was also a generally pleasant experience, as much as buying a car can be anyways.
I now have an issue with my car, and need to take it in for what may amount to necesitating an entire engine replacement. Car is less than 2yr old, and 33k miles. Objectively one would think this is an easy warranty claim, but I've read some horror stories on the subreddit for my car where people had their warranty claims denied for the same engine problem for various absurd reasons.
I have no experience dealing with the Castle dealership group, and am wondering if anyone has dealt with them for serious issues like this and if they had to fight to get coverage or if it was more of a "yeah no problem, we'll cover it!" kind of deal.
I'm just scared to take my car in as I cannot afford $8k for a new engine on the off chance they like to deny warranty claims.
I had an appointment for tomorrow with a napleton dealer a little closer to my home, but based on the phonecalls I made to both the castle dealer and the napleton dealer, the service advisor at the castle dealer seemed nicer so i cancelled the napleton appointment.
