Phosphenes are the swirling lights and colors you see when you close your eyes. Sometimes when I meditate and get to a pretty focused place, I can see images of eyes in them. Nothing scary, just actual images of eyes - lids, brows, and all. Only one at a time. They last only a second and morph into different versions. Sometimes I see the eyes of people I know, sometimes completely random or fabricated eyes. The weird thing is that they are so clear, like a black and white photograph. It's not like a remembered dream where the thought of seeing something is stronger than the image of what you saw. In this case the image itself is so strong and realistic-looking.
They aren't cartoonish or embellished. Sometimes they're looking directly back at me. Sometimes they're looking away. They can be of different ethnicities, conveying different emotions. Everything. To be clear, it's not like seeing or feeling them as a presence staring back at me - its only an image.
This has only ever happened to me when I meditate, and even then it's somewhat rare. Maybe it's just a thing brains do? I've heard one effect psychadelics see eyes in things they look at. Maybe my brain is just getting quiet enough that this feature turns on? lol.
Does this happen to anyone else?

I just had an interview where the interviewer kept saying “I just want to be completely transparent here.” Then they said “ok, I need to be transparent, I am looking for someone who will work here for at least a year.” They said they have long term staff on the unit, but that they also have new grads. This is an inpatient job on telemetry. Does this suggest that the unit has high turnover? Also what happens if I don’t make it a year before deciding that I need to go elsewhere? Will I be prevented from transferring or being rehireable? The interviewer also told me to ask about potential contract sign-on bonuses, but I forgot to ask my recruiter and I don’t really want to take a contract anyways. I don’t want to feel stuck.
Any advice? I am just worried about what will happen if I don’t stay for a year.

Figure this writeup may be worthwhile if it helps anyone else come to similar terms or perhaps bolsters their existing thoughts not to.
Last night I ordered an S25 Ultra. It cost me $550 and they threw in enough credits to snag a pair of Buds Pro 3 for free. (by way of trading in my S23 Ultra).
Samsung gave me a discount on the phone and bought my old phone for a stupid price. Far more than I would get trading in on a Pixel, trading in through my carrier (T-Mobile) or selling on Backmarket or Ebay.
- IS the S25 Ultra worth upgrading?
- Yes, for me it's a no-brainer. I didn't go for the S24 despite wanting the flat screen and titanium. I wanted the increased brightness. I wanted the new Gorilla Glass w/significantly improved anti-glare. So the S25 being basically the same, it was an easy choice. I didn't do it last year because I didn't own my phone outright at the time. Now I do, so the credit for the new phone has a larger impact. FINALLY...if early reviews are to be believed, regardless of the news today that Samsung's version is underpowered, the Snapdragon 8 Elite is the ultimate cherry on top. Perhaps I'm delusional, but my expectation is that I will see continued great performance alongside true full-day battery. - The hidden agenda:
- I don't really want an S25. I want a Z Fold 7. From October - current, I camped on the Z Fold 6, just waiting to pull the trigger at the best possible price. Fwiw, the best possible price was 'bout $580. They were giving a ridiculous $1000 trade in for the S23. I took some bad advice and waited into December only to never see that offer again. I am buying an s25 Ultra SOLELY so I can get maximum $ value on a trade in for the Z Fold 7 when it releases. This fits with Samsung's tactics historically. I'll probably get an extra $200-$500 for the S25 vs the S23 on trade-in. Factor in the free Buds Pro 3 and half a year of getting to use a new phone, it's entirely worth it.

I took sertraline for a long period of time for others reasons than depression. The summe autumn of 2023 I decided to not take them anymore and quit way too fast which resulted in a few depressive episodes in 2024. The last one ended a few months ago. Both of my parents have and are medicating for depression, is the risk of the depression coming back high? I know it’s impossible to tell for sure

So, I came to Ireland on June 2022.
I lived from then, until 28th Dec 2023. In like February of 2024 I applied for the rent thing, and got 500. Cool.
I heard this year it was increased, so I did the same. This time I updated my information on revenue cause I changed address. To my surprise, I didn't get shit.
My house mate did the same thing for the first time, and didn't add any information, and he got 1k.
He doesn't even live here for as long as I have lol.
I contacted revenue and they said I received that as tax credit and said I should see the Tax Credit Certificate 2024 dated 17/02/2024.
But that was the date when I applied for 2023? So was it automatic for 2024 as well? I don't understand. The amount of tax deducted for 2024 in panel 2 was 728. So not 1k.
Maybe I made a mistake, seems retarded to be honest at this point I got a headache trying to understand this system.

My brother found a really cute piece of bread and started dating it. I was furious. A voice in my head started saying, "Kill him, kill your brother," and after a while... I caved in.
I grabbed a large metal hammer and started beating the absolute shit out of him. "How dare you get a hotter piece of bread than me!" I screamed.
Eventually, he died. I was satisfied until I realized something... I had stepped on the bread, crushing it completely... I'm currently lying on the ground, bawling my fucking eyes out.
I really hope that my parents don't find out about what I did...

I was just placed in charge of the floor scrubber machines from training to making sure they actually work for instance my store has a big problem of no one using prominence (the yellow soap you fill a mop bucket with) when they go around the deli we are supposed to press the prominence button because the floors get very obviously dirty and its especially bad when we wax over it. It is now my job to train/retrain our floor care people how to do use prominence around the deli and how to fill it up when out, as well as make sure the machines actually work, I’ve had to break out my own personal tools a few times to fix them, anyway if anyone has some advice on either improving the way we use our machines or training my team members mostly older than myself it would be appreciated

I have been long Nvidia since 2015 and in my professional life appraise commercial/industrial real estate, so part of my focus is on data center development projects. The market seems to think that Nvidia's data center growth will be short-lived but the development community thinks otherwise.
Some interesting quotes:
"The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence is driving the financing of data center development to record highs, but AI workloads may still represent only a fraction of the world's data center capacity by 2030.
AI workloads are expected to represent less than 50% of data center capacity in five years, with cloud-based applications and traditional data storage making up most data center demand, JLL said in its report.
"AI is in its infancy," Michael Rareshide, a partner at Site Selection Group, told CoStar News. "There's a lot of growth ahead for AI."
Regarding power needs:
The rise of next-generation AI is requiring higher rack density and advanced cooling technology — all of which need more power. Still, data centers are only expected to represent about 2% of the world's electricity consumption this year, JLL said. The increase in data center electricity demand through 2030 is projected to be less than a third of the power needed for both electric vehicles and air conditioning, according to JLL's report.
Several notable nuclear deals were reached in 2024, including Michigan's Palisades Nuclear Plant and Three Mile Island. In addition, the development of small modular reactors, which are a smaller and less powerful nuclear reactor compared with traditional nuclear power plants, gained momentum last year, and agreements are expected to double in 2025, JLL said in the report.
The company also said technology for small modular reactors is still in the early stages of development, adding that commercial deployment in the U.S. is not expected until 2030 at the earliest. But if the reactors materialize as a credible green power source, it could significantly impact site selection and design for data center development, JLL said."
