Despite being mostly blind, Open.ai has provided me the means to realize my dream, which is put in the hands of every child in America an app that will improve their lives tremendously.
Yet, the efficacy of this app would be magnified by an order of magnitude if I would provide access to ai via API.
However, I would incur the cost of requests or have to model some subscription pricing plan to defer and, ultimately, capitalize on these requests.
But why not just allow app developers to provide the same free, limited access to specific models, with in-app purchases of subscription plans for users?
These subscription plans could be tied to new-user API key generation that automatically replaces the default key with the new-user key at the point of purchase.
At the very least, envision an Unreal Engine approach for integration; in which, developers must declare or otherwise promote ChatGPT as the ai provider in ai-driven apps.
Right now, Deepseek is the only viable option, and it's results are on-par with o1, which is far and away the preferred model. As I realize the infrastructure just isn't there to support o1 use at scale, at least give us the lesser models (i.e. limited 4o and, perhaps, altogether free 3o), so we can build our apps with ChatGPT instead of having to integrate the alternatives (like Deepseek), which really do nothing but undermine Open.ai 's efforts.
I know a huge infrastructure investment is intended to bear tremendous computational fruit, but don't put all your eggs in that prospective basket.
Let's hope for the best, but provide affordable API for now.

Just to preface, my dad is nowhere near as grumpy or mean as sid's dad. He'd do anything for me and I can talk to him about anything. And he'd never compare me to a specific person (like how sid's dad says "Why can't you be more like Tony?") But him and my dad are so similar in the sense of being frustrated their child isn't pushing themselves to do better and just wanting them to be happy. When I was a teenager and our relationship was strained my dad also had a health scare with his lung that could've led to me walking in on him dead like just like Sid if he didn't take himself to the hospital. That scene hits different when you're already feeling emotional about not being the nicest to your parents when you were a grumpy teenager. Poor fucking sid. Please tell me I'm not misremembering that he hugged his dad the night before he died?

Does anyone have a dairy free Tikka masala recipe/substitutions they're happy with? The recipe I have uses a yogurt coating for the chicken as well as heavy cream in the sauce. Swapping the heavy cream would be easy, but I'm worried that a dairy free yogurt wouldn't cook the same way on the chicken. Any suggestions?
