I have a triban bike with disc brakes
I serviced my brakes were serviced March last year, including bleeding. I cycled a lot during spring/summeearly autumn
At the beginning of October I went to a bike mechanic in my new area (i moved away from old one and seeing old mechanic was no longer an option), as both my brakes were losing grip. They proposed 2 options, cheap pads for £10 or expensive for £20, plus a £20 service for each brake. Between £60 and £80 I choose £60, as I was planning on doing a full service before spring season again (will do end of February/March)
Brakes were okayish for shortly, not perfect but I know that takes some time to them to be perfectly in place (don't know if is an urban myth). Fact is between october november and december didn't cycle much as was out for long periods of time. When back after Xmas bike was barely slowing down and didn't felt safe at all, especially with the rear brake being the worse of the 2
I didn't go back to the shop as I am not very good with confronting people. As much as I'd like to support local shops I went to decathlon where they fix the issue. They said the pads were "contaminated" and in any case not very suitable for that model of disc. Changed the rear disc for £8 of pads (even cheaper of the bike shop) and £10 (half the price)
I was bit shocked for the low quality the shop provided and the cost compared to decathlon (which I had bad experience in the past with my old local branch, but the new one was quite a good experience), also shocked that the shop has 4.9 rating on google reviews...

Well, long story short I have been stuck with this shit for the last 20-25 years.
I tried to quit a couple of times but I always relapse. I have been struggling with how can I find a way to break free from this habit….
I’m not willing to get too deep into the reasons, but the truth is this shit get me to a point of doing stuff I’m not proud of and that makes me fell ashamed of myself.
Any help would be great. From strategies, apps, support groups, accountability buddies, etc etc… I’m open to anything that can help.

 | Okay so some backstory and context; I have a sorority tank of 5 girls in a 20 gal, do weekly water changes using aquarium salt regularly and use api stress coat. This tank was doing amazing for a long time until i added some platy’s (meant to be feeders in my oscar tank) Before this my tank was pretty much in perfect harmony tbh, my bettas got top stuff, i had bottom feeders in loaches and frogs, cleaners were shrimp and snails. However when i added the platy’s my tanks health started declining, i lost some frogs sadly and a lot of my shrimp died off. I’m in the process of getting it brought back up to health. Now, the problem, 2/5 of my girls have a lot of rips on their fins, a lot more than any others. My girls get along enough that i don’t believe this would be due to biting or fighting, they have a good hierarchy. I’ve looked in the tank for anything sharp, and I thought maybe fin rot but none of the others are affected? I do need to get more water test kits asap, but i really don’t know what to do. I’m gonna rearrange the tank a bit to try and see if anything is sharp i’m not seeing. Has anyone managed to map out different locations on the map, (as close as possible, I know the map is not accurate enough for exact locations). I have tried to use my minimal photoshop skills to overlay the image of the map with images of similar maps but have not gotten anything usable by doing this. I like to place markers on my map for places I have been, but I am a bit neurotic and really want the markers to be in as accurate a location as possible.... If anyone has managed to do this, would love to know!
