2025.01.24 00:21 Anceena1 Are Pure Diffusers Safe to Use? Questions About Benefits and Long-Term Risks
I found Pure diffusers and thought I'd give them a try. However, I’m curious if they are safe to use, especially for breathing in the air. Based on what I saw on their website, they don't clearly discuss safety issues. Instead, they emphasize selling these goods as "aromatherapy." Even though they don’t have nicotine, the vapor they release and the different tasty flavors make them feel a lot like nicotine-free vapes. This makes it hard to resist taking a big breath of the vapor instead of just breathing it out through the nose as recommended. I'm wondering if you can really gain the benefits of chemicals like melatonin, caffeine, or B-12 if you're not breathing in the vapor the right way. I think just blowing it out without taking a full breath first might make those things not work well, but I'm not certain. I'm not sure if these diffusers are safe to use all the time or if there are any risks from breathing in the gas, even if they are sold as safe. If anyone has used Pure diffusers or has any reliable information about how safe and useful they are, please share your thoughts. Are they really better, or is this just smart advertising to make them look safe? I'm also wondering if there are any long-term risks linked to using them, even if they say they are "natural." If this isn't the right place to ask, please tell me. I'm looking for honest opinions and information about whether these diffusers are a good choice and if they're actually safe to use. Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

2025.01.24 00:21 Life-Objective5961 Looking for a drip coffee maker under $200 for my boyfriend and I!
My boyfriend currently has an old Keurig, and I have an nespresso machine, but nespresso pods are getting too pricey for me. We're looking for a simple, high-quality drip coffee maker that will work well for both of us in the mornings. We have a budget of $200, so the Moccamaster is out of the question.
Would love something that’s convenient, brews a good cup of coffee, and ideally has less plastic. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

2025.01.24 00:21 urmom_92 Always short staffed….almost lost my job because I needed a day off
I’ve worked at this center for almost 4 years and the majority of the time we’ve been short staffed. It makes it hard to make appointments or do anything.
I haven’t asked for a day off in months and never call in when I feel unwell, I always go to work.
We recently hit a deer with my SUV so my boyfriend and I are down to one vehicle. He works in another province and has to catch a flight to return back to work. We live in a rural area so it’s a 8 hour round trip to the airport and back.
My boss knew we were down to one vehicle. Neither my boyfriend or I have parents/family and we don’t have any close friends by us that would be able to help.
As soon as my boyfriend got his return ticket through work, I let my boss know. It was exactly a week in advance. She told me she couldn’t give that day off. I let her know I had no choice, I needed the day off or my boyfriend would miss his flight and lose his job.
Typically in these situations they send out an email and ask parents to keep their kids home if possible so they can stay within ratio. They chose not to take any steps to bring numbers down and keep the center within ratio until the morning I did not go to work.
That day some parents were able to keep their kids home, the daycare was within ratio and all staff got a lunch break. When I got back to town at 3PM I texted my boss and said I would come into work and stay as long as needed. I was told I was not needed.
Today I go to work and I am written up for job abandonment and was told if it ever happened again I would be immediately terminated.
She made a fuss that I didn’t call in, I told her we had spoken about it numerous times and it was my understand that it was known I would not be in that day.
We have a small center, under 40 kids and we have 5 staff. The majority of the staff are absolutely horrible. They belittle the children and yell at them and mistreat them and it’s all swept under the rug and ignored. I’m that annoyingly positive person who shows up happy and smiling and I go above and beyond what’s expected of me every day. I put my EVERYTHING into this center. I love these kids and I do everything I can to make sure I do my best.
Other staff call in and lie when they don’t have their days off approved. I was upfront and honest and now I’m being punished?
I understand they have the right to write me up for job abandonment and loss of revenue (they don’t charge the parents who keep their kids home that day, maybe lost $50) but I feel so hurt. I pour everything I have into this job and I show up every day with a smile on my face no matter what I have going on in my personal life. While other staff are so rude and nasty and lie.
I just needed a day….
I want to quit so bad but I have my 4 year old son at this center and I don’t like how kids are treated so I don’t feel safe leaving here there without me. All other daycares wait lists are years long. I feel so sad and so stuck.
The day I was away, my son was at the center (it’s his dads week or I would have take him with me) and a staff let me know she left my son, alone in his class room while she took the other kids to the bathroom down the hall. Admittedly left my son unsupervised alone in a room. But in a monster for needing one day off?
How does your center handle being short staffed? What would you have done?
(I let my boss know my son was left unsupervised and alone in waiting to see what is done. This same staff also vaped in a room with children present and got to keep her job among other horrible things)
I’m feeling so defeated and upset.
Sorry for rambling…

2025.01.24 00:21 cosmic-gspot I am scared to report my coworker
This is going to be really long, but I desperately need advice.
I have worked at my current center for 2.5 years. It is the best job I’ve ever had, and I have developed so much as an educator. I love all of my coworkers and my boss. However, I have one coworker (an elderly woman who has worked at the center for 17 years as a floater) who is truly terrible. I will call her Maria. She is mean. She is incapable of performing the physical requirements of her position which results in her doing…almost nothing. She does not log anything into ProCare. She leaves items out of meal time if it is “too messy.” She often forbids the children from playing with any toys. I have had children bed me not to leave them with her, so I have often skipped my break to ensure their safety and comfort. She refuses to change diapers. I’m pretty sure she sleeps during nap time. She will force the kids to stay on their cots for an entire hour after nap time ends and refuses to let them go potty, so she does not have to do anything until the lead teacher comes back. Which is what happened today and led me to making this post.
The Pre-K teacher has been out all week, so this woman has been subbing for her. She refused to let one of the children go potty after she woke up and forced her to stay on her cot. This child had pooped and peed on herself and was forced to sit in it for over an hour. Another coworker happened to enter the room when “Maria” had finally let them get up from nap and immediately smelled the feces. After investigating she saw that this child had feces completely up her back and was totally soaked in urine. She confronted “Maria” who acted shocked as if she could not smell it. I am familiar with this child, so I know she definitely asked to go potty or told “Maria” she had an accident. My other coworker went to get my boss who is right next door. She told them what happened and they made “Maria” clean up the child. However, my other coworker took over for her because “Maria” was not cleaning her properly. My boss told my coworker to write a report to be emailed to her mother.
I personally feel this needs to be reported to DHS as it is clear neglect. I felt the other behaviors would be ignored if I reported them, but this one just makes me so sad and sick. I cannot imagine doing that to a child. I cannot imagine doing any of the things she does to a child.
There are a few reasons I am hesitating:
2025.01.24 00:21 Thegreatestgambler8 Would volunteer work count as employment? [new york]
Just to preface this, i am a 16 year old living in Nassau County NY. I recently got my juniors license meaning i can drive to school and work from 5am to 9pm. I volunteer as a baseball coach for kids at my sort-of-local facility (about a 30 minute drive from my house). My mom usually drives me but since i got my juniors license I’ve been driving myself to school and doing more myself. I was wondering if it technically counts as work if i volunteer, making it so i can drive myself. Anyone knowledgeable about this please help me, the internet has done me no good thus far. :)

2025.01.24 00:21 venomforty My idea for the next game — Animal Crossing: Home Sweet Biome (more info down below/in comments)
Animal Crossing: Home Sweet Biome — My idea for the next game in the Animal Crossing series
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has changed the future of Animal Crossing, for better or for worse. A game series that was once more focused on the living aspect with a large side of customization is now focused on the customization aspect with a side of life simulation. This is my idea to bring back what Animal Crossing truly used to be about, living your life, while still maintaining its new meta of prioritizing customization (as that is what Nintendo will realistically want to continue), all while continuing to push the series forward.
In Animal Crossing: Home Sweet Biome you move into a quaint and meager town, similar to that of the previous games before ACNH. It isn’t much yet, with only a few townsfolk and a couple of shops. There are hills and a beach, trees and rivers and waterfalls. You are not the mayor, but you do have an important role, which I’ll touch on soon.
Soon after you arrive, you are approached by Isabelle, who is the newly elected mayor of your town. Upset with the current state of it and trying to make a big difference, she asks you if you’d like to join an idea she has called the BRAVO project. It stands for the Biome Restoration And Vitality Operation. The town you’ve settled in is right in the middle of and is a perfect access point to several different biomes, those being a desert, a jungle, a frozen tundra, an island, and the mountains, all to be accessible through your town. Each biome has a mayor and town of their own in a similar flabby shape as the one you’ve moved into. The goal is to increase tourism and the quality of life for all citizens, something that will benefit all the different biomes and towns. She has employed her brother Digby to help as well as a fellow BRAVO Officer.
When you agree, Isabelle will ask which biome you’d like to head to first to pitch the idea of BRAVO to their mayor, trying to get them to join the BRAVO alliance. Each biome has very unique features, as well as a brand new NPC leading as the mayor.
•Desert: Sandsun town, mayor is a camel named Malik
•Jungle: Gagoola town, mayor is a snake named Gonga
•Frozen Tundra: Lunaburg town, mayor is an elephant seal named Horace
•Tropical Island: Buoyton town, mayor is a shark named Finn
•Mountains: Green Rock town, mayor is a mountain goat named Alpie
When tasked with helping another town, the main focus is opening up an easier access port from your town to theirs to unify one another. You’ll have to access their town via transportation at first like going to the island in ACNL, but eventually you’ll be able to simply journey on foot from your town to theirs like traveling to Main Street in ACNL.
When you’re in their town, customization is not as full swept as ACNH, and is more in line with a version of ACNL. You can unlock Public Work Projects for their town, aesthetically appropriate for their biome, and help recommend which ones they should go with to try and increase their quality of life and tourism. Your job isn’t to decorate their town from head-to-toe, replant every tree and landscape everything to be completely different; you’re just helping them out. The experience is far more evocative of past games before New Horizons.
The towns will upgrade the more you help, with the help of your suggestions and support, and flourish from a barren village into a full town, while keeping a decent chunk of undeveloped wilderness for you to explore, all very unique from one another.
Most importantly, the biomes and other towns serve as a relaxing environment for the player to explore and not have to worry about and focus on the customization aspects of Animal Crossing, specifically of ACNH. They exist to bring back the feeling akin to the previous games that was missing in ACNH. Furthermore, each biome has a variety of exclusive fish, bugs, fossils and other collectibles to catch and discover only in that specific biome. Other unique features of each biome includes shopping districts, unique villager species diversity, special characters, trees and flora, etc.
Rewards for helping the different biomes, besides the simple fact of their existence and the benefits they naturally bring, includes gifts of seeds/starts for their specific trees and plants, unlocking the PWPs from their town for your own, enlisting their villagers to come live in yours, and more.
Depending on which town map you choose, the directions to the different biomes will change slightly. The desert and jungle biomes are on opposite sides, either east or west. The mountain biome is northern on either the left or right side of your town, with your shopping district being on the other side of it. The frozen tundra and island biome are south, with one being on the right side of town and the other on the left. Before you have direct access from your town to each biome, you can travel to them via hot air balloon. There are star rating systems for each town, gauging satisfaction levels. When their town reaches two stars, you may access a new biome with Isabelle and go pitch the BRAVO project to their mayor. Also, once you help them reach two stars, to increase tourism, you can establish a train station in their town. When their town reaches four stars, a new connection point is built for faster traveling to that biome and town, which will essentially connect them all together via your town as a sort of main hub. Bridges are built to the island and the tundra over the ocean, chunks are taken out of the sides of the town creating pathways to the jungle and desert, and a pathway is created up the side of the mountain to access the mountain biome. Instead of having to take the hot air balloon or train, which would still of course remain as an option, you will now be able to simply walk from your town to theirs, via a quick loading screen, just like accessing Main Street or the Campground in ACNL. (Continued ->)
Biome Specialties:
Desert: Home to a large bazaar and grand shopping district. There is an ancient temple to explore that holds secrets, as well as an oasis. Gets very hot during the day, but very cold at night. Cacti and unique trees grow out of the sand. Villager species include lions, rhinos, elephants, armadillos, kangaroos, hippos.
Frozen Tundra: You can participate in ice fishing. There is snow and ice year-round. You can ice skate. There is a winter-like resort you can eventually help open. Villagers sleep in igloos and cozy cabins. Villager species include penguins, bears, bear cubs, wolves, deer.
Tropical Island: It is summer year-round, akin to Tortimer’s Island in ACNL. Very tropical. There is a volcano you can explore. Tom Nook opens a retirement home resort for the elderly special characters from the past games (this is touched on in more detail later). You can go surfing. Villager species include octopi, koalas, birds, chickens, pigs.
Jungle: Lots of insects and wildlife. Home to a swamp. There are massive trees that contain rope bridges and treehouses in which some villagers reside. Villager species include frogs, alligators, anteaters, monkeys, gorillas, tigers.
Mountains: Terrain is very rocky, vertical, and steep with many slopes and cliffs. Large waterfalls and bridges spanning valleys. The very top can receive snow at any time of year. Includes a cavern you can go into and mine from. Lots of bamboo and needle trees. You can help set up a gondola service PWP, which you then can implement into your own town. Villager species include goats, squirrels, ducks, eagles, sheep.
Any biome can include cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, cows/bulls, mice, hamsters.
The biomes all have unique attributes depending on the seasons, but in line with their biome characteristics. The biomes all have a unique variation of the standard hourly themes that play in your town that correlate to their unique aspects.
It might seem like the new biomes are the main part of the game, but that isn’t really true. Your own town is still the primary focus of the game, the biomes just serve as more fleshed out extensions, such as the island in ACNL or the City in ACCF. You’ll still be able to customize your own town to your heart’s content, including furniture outdoors. You can also unlock Public Works Projects like in ACNL, which are much larger decorative or interactive features for your town, that are much more than just an item and have actual uses, such as a baseball field, a large lighthouse that you can enter, etc. They are much more than just the glorified outdoor items they were in ACNL. By visiting the different biomes, you will be able to fully flesh out your own town by borrowing aspects from them.
Biomes purely exist to expand the game of Animal Crossing into something far more immersive than ever while reeling it in to its roots, of which have still grown over time, but are still the roots we know. You are given multiple places to live and explore and play, not customize from head-to-toe. Tired from customizing your own town? Cool off in one of the biomes and appreciate the little things about Animal Crossing once again.
Other than the biomes, here are just some new ideas for what the rest of the game would be like. Not everything is fully thought out, and not every idea or detail is written down.
•Anything that was removed from New Horizons for no reason (perfect fruit, snow person family, etc.) returns.
•A bit vague, but a much more stylized art and sound direction, more distinct though akin to the past games than New Horizons.
•You first arrive on train, but after that you can also travel via hot air balloon. Porter runs the train while the Dodos run the hot air balloon service. You can choose whether you want other players visiting your town to arrive via train, hot air balloon, or either one. The train station is in a guaranteed spot at the top of your town, but you can eventually move the hot air balloon landing zone to wherever you’d like. Until you open up a train station or direct access, biomes must be traveled to via hot air balloon.
•You can pick between two heights for your character, one similar to that of the games before ACNL, and the modern taller height.
•Pretty much every main special character makes a return, things like the post office and other small things like that come back.
•There is a shopping district, similar to Main Street from ACNL, north of your town. It becomes more and more plentiful the more you progress with different shops and activities and characters you meet throughout the biomes.
•Full customization of your town just like ACNH, but with more efficient controls/abilities. Items have more interactive abilities and actual uses.
•Flowers can grow in different amounts of bunches instead of the standard three. You can use scissors to snip them off to create a more dynamic and less uniform landscape.
•There are villager families now, which includes parents and children living together in a larger house. There are of course standard singular villagers as well. There is always at least one family living in each town, and there is one already there in your town when you begin.
•The museum now includes flora, gyorids, seashells, artifacts, and other minerals and substances, not just bugs, fossils, fish, and art. On top of that, there are now reptiles/amphibians to catch, collect, display, and donate to the museum, such as snakes, frogs, turtles, lizards, etc.
•Celeste’s observatory makes a return, but as a separate building.
•Brewster now owns a restaurant; you can collect recipes from the different biomes for him to serve there. You can help design it, otherwise there is a standard layout.
•There are new fruits/crops. Berries can grow on bushes that you can harvest. Farming/gardening is more fleshed out.
•Crafting remains from ACNH, but it is less of a big deal and isn’t as tedious. Tools no longer break, it is mostly for things that would make sense to craft that wouldn’t be sold in stores,
•Different plants can grow in rivers and ponds such as lily pads, cattails, etc.
•You can take a boat into the open water to fish around your town and the island biome.
•There is a school that Kaitlin and a now older Katie run in your town. All the child villagers from every biome, and your town, attend. They get off of the train each school morning and walk there. Special characters can visit and give lessons to them. You can help design it if you’d like, otherwise there is a standard layout.
•Villagers can get occupations around town, such as working at Brewster’s restaurant, the school, the museum gift shop, etc.
•You can use scuba equipment and actually remain underwater and view what is down there, not just be a shadow.
•Gulliver, Pascal, Wendell, and Kapp’n are in a pirate crew together, who you can come across in various ways. Rover is a part of the crew as well, though he is clearly very apprehensive about his new pirate life. You can help them out and then receive items from their travels, or unlock new PWP ideas that they thought of while out exploring the world.
•Tom Nook will eventually open a retirement home on the island biome where Tortimer, Joan, Nat, Chip, Lyle, Frillard, Phineas, Shrunk, Luna and Grams live. They all have interactive aspects about them within the retirement resort. Leilani, Kapp’n’s wife, works there. She tries to get you to convince Kapp’n to stop his pirate life and move there. There are various minigames and activities you can participate in with the characters that live there.
•Kapp’n’s young daughter Leila is now older and operates his old boating business. She can take you to small randomly generated islands that can mimic the different biomes, or a combination of biomes.
•There is a spooky haunted island that you can randomly stumble upon by Leila losing control of her boat after getting caught in a storm. It is a deserted town, foggy, completely overgrown with abandoned buildings. You meet Wisp there, among other things, and can strike up a relationship with him after multiple trips. Leila learns the way to the island, but she takes convincing and bribing to take you again as she is very scared of it and won’t accept the regular payment, instead requesting certain valuable collectables.

I was around 8 years old in 2014 and I was staying at my grandparents who live very far away from us. My grandfather was playing portal and I also tried it. He helped me play trough both games. We were kinda poor so the game was pirated. Later on every 5-6 months we visited them, I asked him to check if portal 3 is on the pirate website. I have played it trough several times since them. My most favorite series of all time. The memories makes me love it so much. Since then I gifted both games to several of my friends so I kinda payed back the piracy from old days.

2025.01.24 00:21 21iq_son Novato querendo quebrar o jogo (leitura longa)
Oi, eu sou o dito novato.
Detalhes importantes:
1) Quero usar principalmente as pistolas duplas.
2) Para entenderem a habilidade "Bio=N/A", meu personagem é um boneco voodoo de madeira.

I'm thinking of changing my daughter from her ymca flexi school to a busy school which is very close to home, hoping the short travel distance makes it less stressful to attend.
I hadn't heard about the busy schools in brisbane until yesterday and can't find much discussion on them. I'd really appreciate any experiences and thoughts you could share about busy schools, whether you went to one, know someone who has or who works there, or just anything you've heard about them.
