2025.01.24 00:31 Complex-Plan-7191 AIO My boss is being a dickhead
AIO I work at a pharmacy that’s located in a retirement town , now normally I would complain about the patients, it’s my boss that making it hard to work at all.
It’s been 3-4 yrs that I’ve been working there and when I first met him he was a cool dude , sometimes he would have his moments like any other person would , but lately within this past year he’s been micromanaging us so bad to the point the entire staff feels like we’re walking on eggshells. When it’s his work days we always have to be very careful what’s said or done around him because he can switch in a matter of seconds. Now I do understand as a manger the staff should be on task at all time and have their work completed, but as the flu season as passed we haven’t had much business and normally finish the work for the day around 12-2 pm (we’re open 9-9). So the alternative after all of our tasks are completed are to help other stores with their work. After that techs don’t have access to much else. So if my boss sees that we’re slowing down a bit or having a QUIET conversation to ourselves , he’ll have a pissy and condescending attitude towards everyone in the department the whole day and says that we’re “distracting” him. When I talk to my coworkers we all feel the same dread of him working with us because he always seems to be in a bad mood(even our new employees ask if he’s in a bad mood of if he’s the yelling type within their 3 months of working ) !
I’m unsure if I’m overreacting about this or should I go to the higher ups about this ?
P.s. : when I say slowing down I mean we’re fighting for work , and nor am I asking to leave early. I just feel like the work environment should be just as welcoming (and obviously professional) as you would at home since we spend a good majority of our time there.

I have a question about German football history. After the 2014 World Cup, Joachim Loew failed to keep up with the high level of football and success he achieved back then except winning Confed Cup in 2017 vs Chile. Nevertheless, his contract has been extended AFTER the elimination of the German team in the 2018 World Cup group stage until mid 2022.
Why does DFB extend the contract of a coach who can not remain in a World cup after the group stage? Or was Joachim Loew not willing to step down on his own?
He remained DFB headcoach until mid 2021 though failing WC 2018 as well as EM 2021. Why? For me it seems like a "Fehler" of DFB football history.

2025.01.24 00:31 RetroWorldSeries VCT on advantech trailer floor
I've got an enclosed cargo trailer with a new advantech floor. It's installed on top of 1x6 joists/foam board insulation. It's pretty solid. I'm trying to figure out a flooring solution. I have enough surplus Armstrong VCT tile to fill it.(8x28).
What would be the best method to install the tile?
I've seen where people use Henry 430 directly on OSB before. Other suggestion is to prime the advantech first. I know advantech says to use 1/4 underlayment but that's but for solid home floors. Not a moving trailer.

So I was having a conversation with a friend about evolution, he is kind of on the fence leaning towards creationism and he's also skeptical of religion like I am.
I was going over what we know about whale evolution and he said something very interesting:
Him: "It's really cool that we have all these lines of evidence for pakicetus being an ancestor of whales but I'm still kind of in disbelief."
Me: "Why?"
Him: "Because even with all this it's still hard to swallow the notion that a rat-like thing like pakicetus turned into a blue whale, or an orca or a dolphin. It's kind of like asking someone to believe a dude 2000 years ago came back to life because there were witnesses, an empty tomb and a strong conviction that they were right."
I've thought about this for a while and I can't seem to find a good response to it, maybe he has a point. So I want to ask how do you guys as science communicators deal with this barrier of suspension of disbelief?

2025.01.24 00:31 views-from-earth All I need is a screw.. Sig customer service has let me down
I reached out to Sig customer service after getting my new SD handguard for the Rattler LT. One of the mounting screws has a bad thread and every time you try to screw it in it starts to cross thread and turns sideways. They said their system shows 2 possible flat head screws for my handguard part# so the CS rep took a guess and sent me one. It turned out to be the wrong one, so I sent photos comparing it to the correct one last Friday as a reference. Radio silence from the CS rep, so I emailed him back Tuesday night asking for an update. He then asks if it's a torx plus... WTF... He should already know there were 2 initial possible options since he's the one who told me there was. It's obviously the other one. Regardless I replied back and said yes. Radio silence again. Now here we are about to start Friday and have heard nothing back from Sig CS. I literally just need 1 screw.
Does anyone know what the specs are for the Rattler LT SD handguard outside mounting screw. This is not the round-head one that mounts under the handguard, the one I need is the IP15 (torx plus) flat head screw that mounts on the outside of the handguard. It ties the handguard to the handguard mount. I have a hunting trip this weekend that I bought this rifle and handguard for and just need to go try and find something locally I guess since the mfg is not too concerned with solving the issue.
