Hey everyone,
I recently had an interview for a MITACS internship, and I’m feeling a bit confused about how it went. The professor I interviewed with seemed pretty uninterested during most of the conversation—short answers, minimal engagement, etc. However, one thing that caught my attention was the way they phrased certain things.
In a lot of interviews, I’ve noticed people tend to use the word "if" when talking about the outcome (e.g., "If you join our team, you could work on..."). But in this interview, the professor kept saying "when" instead of "if" (e.g., "When you join the team, you’ll be working on...").
Is this a sign that they’ve already decided to accept me? Or is it just how some professors phrase things? It felt a little inconsistent with their lack of enthusiasm. Has anyone else had a similar experience with MITACS interviews or professors in general? Would love to hear your thoughts or advice!

I cold turkey quit 50mgs of Seroquel after around 2 years on it, I didn't think it'd be this rough a month later. It's been almost exactly 30 days and I'm having high blood pressure, panic attacks, lots of weird physical stuff and blurry vision, it's kind of a nightmare at times, is this normal a month later? Also should I just get back on it and taper down even though it's been a month? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I recently bought whipped beef tallow cream on Amazon from a company in Cincinnati. Its only ingredients are grass feed tallow and jojoba oil. The smell is pretty strong, I ordered the unscented. I apply it to my whole body in the evening and by morning I don’t smell it. I have dry skin, especially with this cold weather, and it has made my skin SOO soft. Though for a small jar, it’s quite expensive. Straight beef tallow at the organic grocery stores is way cheaper. Can I just put that on my skin?

i got a dachshund puppy last week and i got one of those heavy duty pens that i put his crate inside of while im at work so he has plenty of room and can have a seperate sleep, play, potty area. he shortly learned he can crawl out of it.
dachshunds shouldn’t jump as the impact from landing can really seriously their backs. i know with crate training and general training he’ll probably learn not to do this (from what i’ve been reading) but until then idk what to do. would a xxl crate be suitable to keep him in while im away? it would big enough for him to have a decent chunk of room (he’s under 6pounds so a big crate like that wouldn’t be small for him) but my main concern would be if i would continue to crate train with his regular appropriately sized crate or if i should crate train with that one.
i really don’t want him getting hurt but im not sure what else to do. any advice?

Bold title, I know, but let me explain.
I am a very traditionally feminine girl who dresses modestly, desires to be a wife, mother, and home maker and I am a devout Christian. But I am not a radical right winged "trad" wife bigot who hates people simply because they are not like me. I am also a feminist and recognize that Feminism is what provided me with natural rights.
I have an Instagram account that celebrates who I am as many others do. But I have been met with a lot of backlash with comments such as "This is my worst nightmare" "So you desire to be a slave?" "What in the oppression..." and many other remarks.
And I have also heard arguments such as "there is no such things as femininity" and "being feminine is feeding misogy and you're basically a slave"
That disgusts me. Why?
Because, I am naturally feminine, and girly. I am naturally nurturing and desire to be a wife and mother. I feel empowered when I dress modestly. That's just me. That's just who I am. No influence from other men because I live in a house full of other women and have been this way since birth.
To demean and undermine a woman's desire for a certain lifestyle simply because it doesnt suit you personally is to deny her individuality and natural personality makeup, and that is so harmful.
Just because you wouldn't choose it doesn't mean it is patriarchal. I understand that their is a standard that men have set to control women, and some women are pushing a narrative that "every woman's role is to be a wife and mother", but yall, not all of us are like that and it's very hurtful to be portrayed as traitors to the modern movement WHEN IT IS LITERALLY WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE C H O O S E.
To insinuate that a woman's personal choice to live a more feminine and modest life is a falsehood and dependent on the likes of men is incredibly harmful and sets us so far back.
The beauty of Feminism is CHOICE. And if you consider yourself a feminist, stop commenting on feminine women's posts talking about how much you would hate living their life, or how they're oppressed, or how they have no free will, etc etc.
There are countries that practice female genital mutilation, forced marriage, and death to women who show their skin apart from their eyes...THAT is oppression. Learn the difference between wild republican trad women who's narratives harm us from the naturally feminine women who are just living their lives, because jumping in and belittling another woman's choice is harming our communities.
I don't push my lifestyle onto anyone and I embrace everyone's right to express themselves no matter how they choose to do so.
ANOTHER THING. STOP DICTATING HOW WOC SHOULD LIVE. I am so sick of seeing people comment on traditional feminine black women's posts and TELLING them that they are trapped, whitewashed, colonized, oppressed, etc etc. You are completely denying their identity and leaving them in the dust simply because they don't live like you.
YES their are women who fall victim to the predatory dictatorship of men and their ideas on what womanhood is, but some of us, again, are genuine and are just as deserving of respect and support.

For work I do a delivery job and also occasionally volunteer with am organization that helps kids learn to skateboard and does charities as well. In my free time I love playing video games (ps5, pc), playing guitar (mainly into emo or alternative music), skateboarding, love movies and tvs of all types of genres but mainly like superhero stuff, horror films, comedies, etc. I consider myself a golden retriever gamer boy, if I'm not working odds are I'm just at home enjoying my peace with my cat. I still go out here and there but this winter has been pretty brutal so not much lately. I fractured the base of my fifth metatarsal (not displaced) about five days ago. I went to an orthopedic surgeon who looked at my x-rays and told me I don't really have to do anything in particular for it to heal, that I don't need to wear a boot if I can walk without it, and that I can continue weightlifting with whatever exercises don't hurt. Does this sound accurate or am I risking a non-union by doing squats, snatches, etc.?

I’ve been diagnosed for a year and a half now, this disease sucks. I feel like crap, I can’t eat my favourite foods, I don’t even feel like leaving bed often, so I’m gaining weight and losing muscle mass, even though I barely eat. I’ve been flaring for a month and it is only getting worse as the month has gone on.
I also have cancer, so that’s a whole other thing. The pain sucks. The blood sucks. The weight gain sucks. Getting my prescriptions sucks. Injecting myself with a pen every other week sucks. Not being able to see my doctor for months sucks. Pooping so frequently sucks.
