My store manager recently had a conversation with me, saying she would like to promote me to an Emerging Store Manager (ESM) position and eventually to a Store Manager role. She asked if I would be interested in this opportunity, and I told her I was.
However, after thinking about it, I started to wonder if becoming a Store Manager is truly worth it. The Inventory Specialist at my store, who has been with the company for seven years, has taken on the Store Manager role multiple times temporarily when the position was vacant. I asked her if she’d ever considered becoming a permanent Store Manager, and she said she absolutely refuses. She explained that the role isn’t worth it because, as a salaried employee, you’re expected to work 40+ hours a week, cover shifts when no one else is available, and handle all the extra stress and responsibilities that come with the position.
This has made me question whether I should pursue this path. I’m currently a Shift Lead and have been with the company for about seven months. While I want to take advantage of opportunities for growth, I’m also interested in eventually going into pharmacy, so I’m unsure which direction to take.
Is becoming a Store Manager worth it in the long run? Also I’m barely 19 I turn 20 this may.

It would be nice to be more open about my sexuality to more people, but the only issue is that I don't really know how I would come out to my parents and not have it like be awkward.
While they are christian, they do support LGBT people so it's not like I would be in any danger coming out to them, but I know that they are the type of people that want to ask questions about how I know and pry for more information, and like its not like I really have a relationship or even a crush, current or past, so I don't really have anything to point at and be like "hey that's how I knew" and like I really don't want to tell them that I figured it out through "other means".
Not only that, but they have asked me a few times before and I've denied it, so I feel like they would feel a certain type of way about me basically lying to them about it for a long while. I know that I don't have to tell them about the deets about how I know and stuff but like I'm not really great when it comes to setting boundaries like that during conversations, so I'm not sure what to do lol. Any help would be appreciated!
