Seeing if anyone knows anything about Protriptyline (a tricyclic antidepressant). It's one of those antidepressants where it's hard to find anyone who has used it and can share their experience. Honestly, that's probably a good thing, I read way too much about drugs before and during taking them, then I get in my head about symptoms other people have experienced, like I'm experiencing them...you know how humans are 🙉 - so I told myself I wouldn't try to look up stuff about this drug, but here I am. There is not much to find, anyway, it turns out.
I've been on it for about 10 days, not really sure what to think. It's always tough starting a new antidepressant, especially if you are sensitive to meds as I am. I'd say I'm tolerating it pretty well, overall. Mouth is super dry. Very cold feet and hands 🥶. Sex drive seems to have completely disappeared, not too surprising with antidepressants. I'm getting pretty forgetful all of a sudden, trying to think about a lot of different things at once. These sides may go away as my body/brain get used it, hopefully they will.
On the positive side, I'm actually sleeping for the first time in seemingly forever. I've had terrible sleep issues the past 6 months or so. Now I'm falling asleep quickly and doing pretty well at staying asleep as well. One interesting thing about Protriptyline is that it may help with sleep apnea, although I wouldn't suspect anything major there. My mild sleep apnea is still mostly untreated.
No improvement in depression or anxiety yet (improvement with anxiety is less likely, but I'm hoping), but that's to be expected as I'm still in the beginning/start up stage.
Supposed to double the dose next week, but we'll see. Double dose is a pretty big jump. How much drier can my mouth get? 💀
Doc originally prescribed desipramine, but it wouldn't get authorized for some reason, and protriptyline was available but only at a certain dosage. So I guess they are very rarely prescribed, at least here in the states. I've tried a long list of antidepressants over the past 15 years with little to no success, but this is only the second TCA I've tried, and I tolerated the first one pretty well, so I'm trying to be optimistic, and I think it's off to a good start, just need the side effects to lessen or go away, and I don't think doubling the dose will do that 😝

Hello all, I bought the game a few weeks ago on my switch, but have since migrated to pc for better performance, I was thinking of buying the founders pack on my ps4 so I can continue to play in my living room instead of going to my computer in my office, without a massive hit in performance (hopefully, haven't heard bad things about it, but if anyone has experience with the ps4 version feel free to let me know how it runs), my question, if I buy the founders pack on ps4 will I get anything extra for purchasing the game a second time? It already says I would get 2k path coins on the store page on the ps store, would that apply even if I already have an account and it wouldn't be a fresh account? 2025.01.24 05:49 I_am_Warthog MAP sensor question.
Looking for a little advice. My 03 P5 failed smog yesterday because it had a burnt out bulb in the check engine light, and it seemed to be running normally, so I had no idea there was a code since there isn't a check 'check engine light' light. Anyway, I replaced the bulb and now I see it has a 0106 code, so MAP sensor. My question is, is there anything else I should look at before I just go ahead and slap a new sensor on it? I now the normal things to check for (vacuum leaks, etc.), just wondering about possible issues common to Proteges that can throw a 0106 code so I know where to start diagnosing the problem. I do plan to get an OEM sensor if it does need replacing, unless there is a known alternative that has proven reliable. Thanks.
