[TL,DR: Simply put, I'm tired of seeing ships get added via gambling through cr8s/random bundles right off the gate]
Oh also, I wrote cr8 instead of, well, y'know, because it wouldn't let me post due to Rule No. 7, which is understandable. Sorry if that throws y'all off.
So, I understand the M.O. of cr8s (at least I think, correct me if I'm wrong, lol) and why WG pushes them so hard, becauase they are a money maker. People will buy them in order for the chance to get certain items, and I understand that.
However, I'm getting a little peeved with them adding ships into the game in which your only way to obtain them is through gambling via cr8s, and similarly through random bundles.
So if you don't know, in the Patch Notes for Monday, they revealed a new Tier VI IJN premium light cruiser, the Tokachi. Seems like a pretty unique if somewhat underwhelming premium, that is on PC a Tier 7. She's got a high number of low caliber guns, with a fairly short reload. That to me, is what makes her interesting, because I LOVE DAKKA.
Of course, they had to stick it in the LNY '25 cr8s. And to add insult to injury, the drop chance for the thing is 1%. Am I the only one who thinks that's kinda BS? For a Tier VI ship?
Furthermore, the Tokachi was the final reward for PC's update 11.10 premium battlepass (from my understanding, PC battlepasses are very similar to our campaigns; they reward the player with boosters, currencies, and of course a premium ship, at least this is the case in the 11.10 battlepass). So, people were able to buy this thing infinitely cheaper than by gambling for it, which is what we're going to have to do on Legends.
Do you guys remember the Halloween Update and Scharnhorst '43? Again, another sort of mediocre ship, and in this case, a slightly tweaked copy of the beloved Scharnhorst (of course there were some major changes, such as it's hp, and it's increase in Tier by one). Again, they put the damn thing in a stupid cr8, and it hasn't returned since. What ticks me off more about Scharnhorst '43 more so than the Tokachi, is that on PC, players were able to obtain the ship for absolutely free by completing the Winter 2023 event progression thing. Yet, we are forced to gamble for it.
What is the point of doing this? If they want to put a ship in a cr8s, fine, so be it. And I'm not even saying that they should freely hand out ships to us (although that would be cool, and you should def do that once in a blue moon, WG). But couldn't they at least add the ship into the store or something, so that you could just outright buy the thing instead of waste God knows how much more money gambling for it?
Rant over. Sorry if it seems like I'm being a child. And yes, I know. I'm not going to gamble for Tokachi, lol. Truly, I don't think that everything in the game should be free. But I feel like WG always takes it in an extreme 180, where in order to get a certain ship, you have to spend hundreds of dollars, and I just don't think that's fair, or healthy for the game in the long run.

2025.01.24 08:35 Kempeth I've just trial-ran my first encounter
I've recently found some time and energy to flesh out my Skyrim based one-shot and wanted to try out my first encounter.
I decided to use ChatGPT for this and let it pick 3 characters. It chose a Ranger (which I've lifted straight from the Website), a Warrior (for which I used the Berserker stats) and a Witch (for which I used the druid stats).
They faced off against 2 large spiders (lvl 1) and a giant spider (lvl 2) with Agility as primary and Might and Movement as secondary. At first I let ChatGPT do the rolls but the lower models don't support that so I switched to using the google dice roller.
It all worked pretty well and gave me some good practice to translate the thematic actions described by the AI into the proper rolls and everything. At one point it had me scrambling on how to use a healing potion to cancel spider venom but I found that as well!
The level 1 spiders were really easily killed by the party and even the level 2 spider didn't last too long. The spiders did roll terribly on almost everything though. At one point I fudged the dice on an attack (which is where I got to apply the spider venom.)
The fight wasn't terribly dynamic, because all the creatures were traditional dmg based and the AI wasn't aware of an feats or "special moves" but for an introduction that wasn't a bad thing.
Some questions
- melee fighters get advantage when attacking two handed without a defensive property. That is quite a significant boost. Would you apply the same for a spider and it's bite attack? Because they almost never hit with just a plain D20 + D10...
- is this correct that you can resist "any" bane simply with a somewhat lucky D20 roll? Seems weird that a higher power level bane is just as easy to dismiss as one of PL 1...

Currently, my Virgin internet coax connection comes into my lounge and into the router, I then use a Cat5e ethernet cable through the walls to connect it to my network cabinet. I'm wondering if i can convert the incoming coax to ethernet, send that through the etherenet in the wall to my network cab, convert it back to coax so the virgin router can go in there. This is because i want to have one UPS for all my network equipment in one place. I was also wondering is this would increase latency or reduce speeds, as coax and ethernet have different frequency specifications. Any help or solutions are appreciated, i have attached a diagram to help.

Guten Tag,
Ich dachte ich poste es mal hier, wenn ein anderer Sub besser passt gerne einen Hinweis, aber ich denke hier sind einige, die sich gut auskennen.
Wir sind momentan in der Überlegung ein Haus als kleine Familie zu kaufen. Gucken und auch Mehrfamilienhäuser an mit Option teil zu vermieten, sind hier aber offen. Budget ist halt begrenzt bzw. Hier setze ich mir Grenzen.
Jetzt haben wir ein Haus gefunden, was preislich sehr attraktiv ist und wo natürlich Sanierungsarbeiten notwendig sind. Ich habe allerdings kein gutes Gefühl wieviel da auf uns zukommen würde.
Hier ein paar Keyfacts: Kaufpreis 239.000€ (+30.000€ Kaufnebenkosten) Wohnfläche 160m² Aufteilung: 1. Und 2. OG je 69m² als separate Wohneinheiten, Zustand innen sehr gut gepflegt Dachgeschoss 22m², ausgebaut aber renovierungsbedürftig Energieeffizienzklasse F (194kWh), also keine Vollkatastrophe auch wenn nicht gut Vollunterkellert, Zustand des Kellers noch nicht gesehen (Besichtigung folgt) Massive Bauweise
Pros: Niedrige Mieteinnahmen (8000€ p.a.), dadurch für Investoren uninteressant Das Treppenhaus ist so gestaltet dass die Nutzung als Eingamilienhaus möglich ist Ist ausschließlich auf einer lokalen Plattform gelistet, nicht auf den großen Viel Wohnfläche zu sehr gutem Preis und guter Zustand der Innenflächen Garage vorhanden Gute familienfreundliche Lage
Contras: Grunfstücksfläche 585m², Gartennutzung allerdings untersagt, da im Teileigentum das Grundstück (620/1000 MA). Finanzierung erfolgt aus Eigenkapital (Summe nicht definiert, genug vorhanden) und die Prüfung ob wir durch die NRW bank förderberechtigt sind und rest durch freie Finanzierung. Modernisierungskosten prüfen wir auch ob wir hier mit Tilgungszuschuss förderberechtigt sind von nrw bank oder KfW Kredit. Davon hängt auch einiges ab.
Ich möchte für mich aber mal ein Gefühl bekommen, auch für ggf. Andere Immobilien. Mit was muss man hier an Sanierungskosten rechnen, was muss zwingend gemacht werden, was ist nur nice to have. Pauschal sagen 1500€/m² oder sowas bringt mich da nicht weiter, ich würde dies für mich gerne nach gewerken runterbrechen und eure Erfahrungswerte dazu hören.
Der Energieausweis ist dabei natürlich sehr hilfreich, hier werden ja konkrete Maßnahmen empfohlen. Was hiervon muss gemacht (Wärmepumpen zB ein Muss, die Lüftung eher nicht?), was bringt evtl. Gar nicht so viel etc. Und auf was für eine Energieeffizienzklasse würde man mit den Maßnahmen kommen und was kosten diese einzeln betrachtet:
1 Dach Dämmung Umax=0,14 W/m²K 2 Wände Außendämmung Umax 0,2 W/m²K Tür Ud max= 1,3W/m²K 3 Fenster Wärmeschutzverglasung Uw 0,95W/m²K 4 Keller Dämmung Umax= 0,25W/m²*K 5 Heizung Wärmepumpe Luft-Wasser mit Flächenheizung 6 Lüftung Zentrale oder Dezentrale Lüftungsanlage mit Wärmerückgewinnung
Darüber hinaus die Fragen zum Baujahr: Asbest Gefahr? Notwendig Elektroleitungen/abwassefrischwasserleitungen auszutauschen? Ist alles halt kein rohbau, wodurch diese Maßnahmen für mich nicht sinnvoll sind, ich weiß aber auch nicht wie lange diese so halten.
Ein Gutachter würde in jedem Fall durchs Haus gejagt werden vor Kauf.
Also das wir nach Kauf noch gutes Geld in die Hand nehmen müssen ist uns bekannt.

I am making a dentist appointment don't worry. But it's the weekend so chances are I will have to wait until Monday to go in. I woke up later in the day and I a hurry because I had a class, and I realized as I was driving that I felt a weird scraping when my tounge touched my front tooth (very front right). When I went home my brother verified that I have a square shaped hole on the back of my tooth so I assume that my filling fell out. The thing is, this tooth had a root canal a while ago. So I'm worried that it might break off within the time that it takes to be seen. Should I be worried or would it be fine as long as I don't eat hard crunchy things

I work as a lawyer and every firm I work at has the same issue with these stupid remote desktop systems that make working impossible about 10% of the year. I don’t give a rat’s ass what the benefits of this is, I was working just fine before and now I’m constantly screaming at my screen because I’m overloaded with deadlines and the fucking virtual desktop BS is inaccessible once again.
