2025.01.24 09:30 Azraekos Repeated, multiple times a week, device specific, connectivity issues on AT&T Fiber
Hey all, maybe one of y'all networking wizards can help with this issue. My technical knowledge is more or less in hardware- physical cabling and that kind of organization is my jam, but internet connectivity issues are beyond me barring resetting the router and other similar "turn it off and on again" level fixes.
My roommates and I live in a small, roughly 1200 sq ft two story house and have had AT&T fiber for 3 years. This house was built in the '90s, but to my knowledge nothing in the construction should be causing the issues we have been experiencing. I have attached images from the company we rent the place from to show the layout of the rooms in order to better illustrate my point. There are 4 of us total, and at any given time each of our phones, 2 or 3 of the 4 PCs in the house, and maybe the smart TV and one console are connected. 8 devices, if that at maximum.
The router is the same one we got from the company when we switched to using them 3 years ago, and it is currently sitting directly above the fireplace. The devices we are having the problems with are my PC in the upstairs bedroom that is 10' x 11', and my brothers PS5 in the downstairs bedroom. Every other device in the house has no issues, barring an occasional blip in the connection that lasts not long enough to be fretting over. Almost every night, one or both devices (my PC or his PS5) will struggle to connect to the network, but devices in the same room will connect with no issue. The connection we had in the apartment my brother and I were in last year never had internet issues, barring the occasional blip during a service outage from a storm or a late-night hiccup. I know my PC has had issues connecting upwards of an hour on our current network, even occasionally connecting to the network but not the internet. Just last week, YouTube thumbnails could load but videos couldn't, and I could connect to steam but any of my games that require a separate login (like Marvel Rivals) couldn't properly connect.
Both my brother and I are both using a Wi-Fi extender to boost the signal and connect via ethernet, but to my knowledge the only negative draw back from this is increased risk of drive-by network attacks, but we are in a cul-de-sac in a relatively safe neighborhood, so I don't see it being an issue.
We know for a *fact* that my room in particular has always had strange networking problems, but these last few months have been intensified. We're talking multiple hours of troubleshooting, connecting up a Wi-Fi adapter, using my on-board wifi connection that barely works for some reason, and using the extender and every combination therein until things decide to work and then sometimes after 5-10 minutes it just decides not to again for another hour of troubleshooting. Multiple evenings a week are ruined with us having to troubleshoot these issues, seemingly aimlessly because they crop up the next day. Strangely, my Wi-Fi extender provides the internet over an ethernet connection relatively stable once it connects but its recognized with an old SSID we no longer use.
The only thing that seems to have worked is the Wi-Fi range extenders, which shouldn't be necessary in house this small, especially when other devices in the room seem to get the connection with little issue. The issues involved with this have been driving me up the wall, and I've been going insane trying to figure out a solution, but nothing ever sticks with anything we try.
The last thing we have all been considering trying is replacing the hardware from AT&T. We currently use just the router they gave us for the wifi- I know from personal experience Spectrum's routers are bad, so maybe its a case where the ISP-provided hardware is just garbage? To me, that still wouldn't explain why only my brothers PS5 and my PC seem to be having the connectivity issues we have been having as logically every device should be having problems at that point unless it was in the same room as the bad router.
I tried to convey every relevant detail here, but if there is something I haven't provided that would be helpful to getting a permanent solution that finally ends the near nightly headache, I would be happy to provide. Any solution that saves us from this headache would be a godsend, as at this point my brother and I are considering moving out to get somewhere that doesn't have the networking issues.

I am a 5’1.5” female who is currently 170.6 lbs. my current body fat % is 41.1%. I did a scan and that is how I know these numbers. Also, my body fat mass is 70.1 lbs.
In the past I lost weight healthy ~40 pounds in 9 weeks. Kept it off for years but recently got married a year ago and gained happy relationship weight. Looking to get back on track and I am very disciplined when need be like now. What’s a realistic goal and what are your best tips?
What I did before was this (plz share your feedback or input) Only drank water Didn’t calorie count but estimated around 1500-1600 calories a day Gym in the morning before I ate Cut out all junk/sugar from junk like candy.

Hey, ich frage mal hier im Subreddit nach. Ich bin seit einigen Jahren bereits schon Kunde bei MLP und halt eben Student. Die MLP macht ja selber kein Geheimnis daraus sich an dieser Zielgruppe ordentlich zu orientieren. Ich habe mich vorher (leider) nie richtig damit beschäftigt aber habe jetzt in letzter Zeit einige Erfahrungsberichte zur MLP gelesen und bin doch sehr erschrocken. Ich habe ziemlich früh aus Eigeninteresse die MLP kontaktiert und zuerst eine fondgebundene Rentenversicherung beim Volkswohlbund mit gekoppelter Riester-Rente von Condor abgeschlossen. Man muss dazu sagen dass ich definitiv kein Experte bin und mir da entsprechend die Empfehlungen meines Beraters genommen habe. Die Rente soll mit dem 67.-Lebensjahr ausgezahlt werden und ist in dem was ich da monatlich einzahlen kann sehr flexibel. Es gab auch schon Monate wo ich nur 20€ eingezahlt habe. Diese Änderungen wurden auch immer mit meinem Berater gemacht. Seit ca. einem Jahr habe ich meinen MLP-Berater aus eigenem Interesse kontaktiert, da ich mein Erspartes nicht nur auf dem Girokonto meiner Sparkasse liegen lassen wollte (Inflation usw.) und habe nach Investitionsmöglichkeiten gefragt. Im Anschluss haben wir ein Vermögensdepot eröffnet. Auf 4 Fonds verteilt zahle ich ca. monatlich etwas ein. Diese Fonds sind:
- DWS Invest Euro High Yield Corporates
- UBS MSCI World Socially Responsible UCITS ETF
- Fidelity Funds – Global Technology
- DWS Concept Kaldemorgen
Jetzt stellt ich auch einfach mal die finale Frage in den Raum: Wurde ich hier vollkommen über den Tisch gezogen?
Ist das was ich da an Rentenversicherung abgeschlossen habe totaler Humbug und mein Geld ist futsch? Im Netz lese ich ganz viel davon, dass einem extrem teure Versicherungsprodukte verkauft werden und diese MLP-Berater mehr als unseriös sind. Ich habe bisher mit meinem Berater von der MLP wirklich keine schlechten Erfahrungen gemacht. Ich habe das Gefühl bekommen, dass er von mir wollte, dass ich verstehe was das alles ist. Bei jeder besprochenen potentiellen Geldanlage oder Rentenversicherung habe ich von ihm auch auf Rückfrage eine Erklärung erhalten. Ich bin aktuell sehr verunsichert und bitte um Rat!

ich habe Einspruch gegen meinen Steuerbescheid eingelegt, da ich noch etwas nachreichen wollte und mit der Steuervorauszahlung die von mir ab diesem Jahr verlangt wird nicht einverstanden war. Meine Frau kriegt Elterngeld und ich schaffe es finanziell nicht im Quartal noch 400€ Steuern aus meiner Tasche zu zahlen. Den Einspruch dagegen, den ich damit begründet habe das uns die Mittel fehlen, da das Elterngeld meiner Frau auch im März ausläuft und ich es alleine nicht stemmen kann, hat der Sachbearbeiter akzeptiert.
Ich habe meine Nebenkosten Nachzahlung nachgereicht bei denen ein erheblicher Teil für Hausmeister arbeiten drauf ging (ca. 350€). Dies hat der Sachbearbeiter akzeptiert und die Steuerschuld von 943€ auf 830€ reduziert. Trotzdem erhalten ich von der erhebungsstelle des Finanzamts vollstreckungsbescheide in Höhe von 943€.
Wie kann das sein? Kann mir jemand auch erklären warum die Arbeiten des Hausmeisters nur anteilig abgezogen werden? Ausserdem bin ich doch im Austausch mit dem Sachbearbeiter wieso passiert das? Selbstverständlich werde ich ihn fragen, aber ich würde gerne eine andere Meinung hören.
Ich habe keine Ahnung von Steuern und das ist so ziemlich das erste mal das ich eine Steuererklärung zusammenveranlagt habe (ich bin auf 3 und meine Frau in 5). Vorher war ich immer in 1 und hab viele Steuern abgeführt und auch was wieder bekommen.
