2025.01.24 11:31 Ainur123 Need some advice on self-mixing vs buying contrast-style paints
Hello, I did some research and could use some advice at this point. Maybe it also gives some inspiration to other people in a similar position.
After a break of over 15 years. I would like to get back into painting minis. Since my wife and I enjoy cooperative board games, I ordered one that seems promising, with a mix of knight, undead, monster and dragon miniatures to paint (Kingdoms Forlorn), and could maybe some day redo my half painted pile of Tyranids that I still have in a box. But man have things evolved in the meantime. Talk about decision paralysis... I was never very good, but did some basic layering, highlighting and mixing of paints. Since we have a small child, time is now more of an issue, and I am intrigued by the speed and results of the contrast-style paints.
After watching a bunch of videos, I am wondering whether it is a good option to get the Pro Acryl Transparent range and mix the colors that I want and store the most important mixes in dropper bottles. Then thin them down with Vallejo express medium to use over grisaille, while having the option to use them pure if needed or even add Schmincke opaque medium. Plus getting Vallejo Metal Color Gold and Aluminium to mix different metal hues with them.
My questions now to all you people with more experience with these things: Is this a good and feasible idea? Do you have any experience you could share? Or am I kidding myself and would be better off buying ~15 XPress/Speed Paints, plus a few opaques and Scale75/AK metallics, and call it a day?

Ciao a tutti, faccio questo post in quanto ultimamente ho comprato delle lenticchie in scatola, così come molti altri legumi, ma aprendo due delle lattine di lenticchie e scolando l'acqua ho notato questa patina bianca in superficie quasi coagulata. Non capisco se è segno che le lenticchie sono andate a male oppure se è un effetto completamente normale a causa forse dell'amido accumulatosi che avviene quasi sempre ma io l'ho notato solo ora, tuttavia non volevo rischiare e perciò non le ho utilizzate. Per caso qualcuno di voi sa dirmi se è completamente normale come reazione oppure se effettivamente le lenticchie erano diventato pericolose da consumare? Grazie in anticipo per chiunque commenterà

I have a lot of high scores that are in the top 50%, I even have over a dozen high scores in the top 25%. I was just curious what the various cut offs for information as I can’t seem to find them. I know I won’t ever get super up there in the insider rankings as I think we all know that there are people out there who get scores glass off. I’m assuming the next range is top 10% then 5, 1 and then it goes to top 100.

I am looking to get into video editing/content creation. I purchased a Amd 7700xt, I am not sure if I made a right choice or not. I've been on youtube searching for answers. 2025.01.24 11:31 BVBSlash Do the screws have to be tightened every now and then? My pedal plate came loose a few weeks ago. Now the bars holding up the seat have to be tightened. The screws on both sides are way out. I play GT7 on default FF setting. It’s always 4.5Nm in the base.

I got my liver transplant last year in October.In my case i was a very healthy 17 year old, went to the gym 5 times a week, played sports on the weekend, and I mainly ate whole foods. However, I started to get a weird feeling in my stomach, it wasn’t pain just discomfort and i thought i just a stomach bug, however it persisted and i went to the gp, he thought itwas probably damage to my stomach lining, luckily he did a blood test, my liver function tests were in the thousands, however I felt normal other then the fact my stomach felt weird. I did another blood test just to make sure and they came back even more elevated, so I was immediately admitted to emergency. They ran a NAC drip for 2 days and that didn’t work, I came back negative for every liver disease (hep B,C, autoimmune hep etc), they then decided to put me on steriods which brought my leveled down by 100 then they lowered the dose and they went right back up. after that they started to get worried. A week later my health started to deteriorate, I went yellow and I started to forget the date and where i was. I then taken into icu for 12 hours then got transferred to ICU RPA(royal prince alfred) hospital.
While I was in ICU there i got extremely sick, I couldn’t remember my sister name or my birthday, due to all the toxins in my brain. It got so bad themat i was connected to 2 dialysis machines and was on a ventilator. I was then put on the Top of the list in both Australia and New Zealand. They were gonna put any liver they could get into me as i was about to go brain dead, but luckily within my 12th hour of being on the list they found a match, that night I got transplanted and didn’t wake up for 2 days. I had acute liver failure with no known cause , which has gotten to me mentally. I find it hard to live with the fact that my liver failed when I was so healthy. This was all during my end school exams, and now it is so hard to watch all my friends go out to and drink as i enjoyed having a drinks once a month with my friends.
