I saw a dentist last year in November that I saw back in 2020 when I got new filling for all my old silver cavity fillings. Back in 2020 I had insurance and money. Now? No insurance AND unemployed (So I donāt think Care Credit is an option). I am enrolled with my cityās financial aid program and still waiting months just to see a regular doctor.
When I saw my dentist last, it was just an exam that I paid in cash out of pocket, because I had a bone fragment working itself out of my gum. Soooo painful but itās gone now. I was given chlorahexidine (spelling?) mouth wash to help with the bacteria. She took x rays but it was just about the bone fragment. If I wanted a more thorough exam I would have to book another appointment and their next availability was in April.
So nope to them.
So letās fast forward to yesterday, I was flossing and brushed (probably doing everything wrong but Iām doing the best I can, and recently got serious about my dental care after reading about the multiple health issues that come with gum disease and bacteria. Anyways I had gum pain. I always bleed, a lot. Even when brushing. Gums receding, thinned at the bottom I can almost see the roots easily.
Today, my lymph nodes are swollen under my jaw and tender, and my gums have been so painful and on FIRE, I literally have not slept all night. I washed and rinsed with the chlorahexidine and took a Tylenol but nothing has helped with the pain.
If it quacks like a duckā¦ I have been told I had some 3ās and 4ās back in 2020, pretty certain a 5. I know Iāve got Periodontal Disease. I havenāt been diagnosed as I guess my dentist just told me to floss more (which I didnāt at the time) and I brush too hard. I was given a hand me down electrical brush, with hard bristlesā¦ ugh. My boyfriend has just now purchased for me a sonic toothbrush like his (and he has amazing teeth)
I donāt know what to doā¦ no money. Iām calling my cityās financial programās number to see if I can get in to see a dentist, today. (Haha wish me luck) or at least a doctor elsewhere just for some antibiotics? I possibly have an infection guessing how my grape sized lymph nodes are.
My boyfriend is graciously paying the bills for the most part which he can barely affordā¦ weāre not in an ideal situation.
Emergency Dentist? Maybe I can get in, but again, no money. No insurance. Doubtful I can get in today anyways, but Iām gonna try and call around and see what I can do.
Anyone know what else I can do for the pain? My gums are so inflamed. Iām thinking about hydrogen peroxide, but I have the chlorahexidine rinse, isnāt that better?

ABSTRACT The genus Eulamprus Fitzinger, 1843 sensu lato (as recognized in texts like Cogger 2014) was scrutinized for potentially unnamed taxa over a period spanning some decades. Publication of this paper on the Australian Water Skinks (as a group) was delayed for some years to allow others with a stated interest in various species groups within the genus to have first options in terms of naming potentially unnamed forms. This included most notably, Richard Wells and Glenn Shea, both of whom ultimately published their major works on relevant species in 2009 (Wells 2009) and 2018 (Pepper et al. 2018, listing Glenn Shea as a coauthor). Following on from these earlier works and delaying any relevant publications pending them, in 2020, Hoser, named an obviously unnamed species, E. paulwoolfi within the E. quoyii complex from north Queensland. Wells and Wellington (1985) and again in Wells (2009) proposed their new genus Costinisauria for the Lygosoma (Hinulia) kosciuskoi Kinghorn, 1923 group of species, herein recognized as a subgenus of Eulamprus, as is the newly named subgenus Invaderskinkus subgen. nov. for the Lygosoma tympanum Lƶnnberg and Andersson, 1923 group of species. In order to stabilize the taxonomy of the putative species āHinulia gastrosticta Gunther, 1865ā, I do within this paper designate a Lectotype in accordance with the rules of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (Ride et al. 1999) (āthe Codeā), this being BMNH 1946.8.4.99 at the Natural History Museum London, UK, from Kangaroo Island, South Australia for reasons given in this paper. Postdating the Hoser 2020 paper on Eulamprus there remained a number of obviously unnamed forms within Eulamprus and this paper names ten of these species on the basis of previously well-established molecular separation as well as biogeographical and morphological divergences from one another. The current (end 2024) most widely recognized taxonomy for the Water Skink genus Eulamprus Fitzinger, 1843 sensu lato is seen in Cogger (2014) and Peter Uetzās non ICZN, unscientific āThe Reptile Databaseā recognizes just 5 species and is woefully inadequate. It is also biogeographically impossible for the reasons given in this paper. The taxonomy proposed herein for this group of Australian Water Skinks, recognising 19 species, ten of which are new to science, is made without fear or favour or any conflict of interest and is the only sensible one based on the currently available evidence.
