I remember originally being happy when I learned they were moving into the Armoury building. I could imagine those huge roll up doors opening out to Town Park, going by for brunch, or sitting on the patio at lunch. We purchased a few family meals thru Covid and at Christmas. Attended a few functions there - overall, from my limited perspective I thought it was a great addition to the community. What happened? Was there not enough local interest? Rent too high? Does anyone have any insight into why they leaving after only 5 years? Is this why we can't have nice things in Aurora?

Hi all,
My (26M) and my wife (28F) are on the brink of divorce (my post history shows different ages because I was trying to be anonymous). I miss her a great deal but the relationship was the most toxic thing I’ve ever witnessed. My wife has always had very bad anger problems that would get abusive, which is something I tried to explain to her family before we got engaged. They said it will subside and that they’d speak to her and because I loved her a great deal I went ahead with the engagement after making it clear I wanted us to get counselling. Fast forward, counselling never happened but we still got married and things are worse than ever. In my last post I described how I provide financially and how I also take care of the home, cooking, cleaning etc.
In addition to this, she every 2 weeks we would have explosive arguments about various topics. These are some of the things she said to me in our last few arguments:
- “You are a retard and a failure”
- “You act like a provider but really you’re just a failure”
- “You are a jobless loser”
- “I will divorce you on 26th October and before that I will find myself another guy before 26th of October, if I find another guy I will marry him and if I don’t find another guy whatever. I will start actively searching for other men while we are married right now.”
- “I’ll be a different wife to another man”
- “Don’t blame me if I cheat on you”
- “I cannot be your peace and I will never be your peace”
- “I do not wish to be your wife”
- “You should have married a man to take care of you and get fucked in the ass”
- “You should go marry a man”
- “All of you guys are fucking princesses with fucking pussies you need a man to take care of you”
- “I see there’s a reason why you’re jobless”
- “All you have done in your life is work a shitty 9 to 5 job as a consultant”
- “You are a disgusting disgusting husband, you are a failure in life, with everything and which is why you’re losing your job because you are a failure and I cannot live with someone who is a failure”
- “You’re a stingy fucker”
- “I don’t consider you in anything I do, that’s the person I am”
- “Go fuck yourself”
- “I wish I married my ex”
- “I see my ex’s wife going on holiday and I wish I never blocked him”
- “I’ll find a guy who can give me everything I want and I’ll give him everything he needs”
- “I’ll start finding a man who’s interested in me”
- “I wish your dad didn’t die so young so I could speak to him and tell him about what a disgusting person you are”
- “I wish I never blocked my ex”
- “Don’t blame me for cheating on you when I meet someone who might actually take interest in me and care about little things”
After our last argument she left and went to her parents house and then began talking to a therapist. For me, the damage was already done. She mentioned that it may be best for us to get a divorce but to wait until a few months so as not to rush into anything. I was absolutely broken, my self esteem in pieces and kinda lost. Throughout the marriage my social life was non existent as I chose to spend any spare time I had with my wife. Last weekend I decided to go out with some old friends, I didn’t wear my wedding ring and I had blocked my wife on instagram (which I recently reactivated) because she has a habit of going through the people I follow and interrogating me about it. Throughout the night I was chilling with my friends and generally we kept to ourselves. I struck up a conversation with the woman that worked the door at the club and discovered she was new in town so we exchanged social media. My wife found out that I had blocked her and was following a new girl on instagram and started saying that I’ve cheated on her. While I understand that I was essentially acting single, and I am not right in my actions, I needed the act of defiance to reclaim what little of myself I had left.
Now she’s been blaming me for the breakdown of our marriage, saying that I was unfaithful. All of my friends say that I haven’t been unfaithful although what I did was not good. I agree, I was dumb, but I was very broken. She has been in very questionable situations in hotel rooms herself while on her party holidays that I’ve always overlooked, involving drugs, guys, and her friends cheating on their partners and I felt “if she’s okay doing that then she should be okay with me doing this” in an attempt to turn the tide in my own mind. She’s painting me as the villain of all of this, my friends and family say that she’s a narcissist and that she thrives off of this and not to engage with any of the messages she sends me. I believe I have trauma bonded (my friends taught me this recently) because despite everything, I miss her dearly and want to reconcile but my loved ones keep me in check - I’m eternally grateful for them having my back, even though I didn’t listen to their advice before getting married, they never gave up on supporting me. Honouring my loved ones is the strongest thing keeping me from not giving in and going back to her.
I’m venting right now because I’m very hurt, especially since someone I love so dearly cannot see the hurt they have caused me and the blatant double standards in the way they operate. I really want her back but I think I’m in love with a fantasy in my mind of a healthy relationship with her, that just doesn’t exist. On paper she is great: she’s super successful, she’s pretty, she even makes a great chicken curry (on the rare occasions where I’m not doing the cooking). But she has very much always been focused on having a great social media life, to the detriment of developing the real substance behind it. I’m not sure where I’m going with this. I don’t know whether I need advice or whether I need to vent - I want to save this marriage but at the same time it’s so stupid to, there is nothing here worth saving. My friends and family are disappointed in me for having settled with this behaviour and I’m disappointed in myself for having let her treat me this way for far too long. Hi gang, let me start by saying great job on SM2 - it’s been out for a while now so I just want to make some suggestions:
1) Please fix matchmaking. It’s a mess but I think lots of others will have said so before me.
2) Let us pick our bots on private play and have them come with the loadout and skills we have invested days/weeks to unlock.
3) Let’s pop a little more post game content in. Titles, cosmetics, purity seals, weapon skins. I’m not asking for Fortnite/PUBG seasons here, but something to shoot for after finishing up the main campaign and PVE missions would be appreciated.
4) Can we switch heads in our custom armour set screen? Or unlock new ones as per my previous point. I’m not averse to the base set, but this is an easy fix and a solid quality of life upgrade.
As I say, great job and not a hater at all - have been a GW fan for almost 30 years so congrats on the awesome experience and best wishes for the future!
