SCALING
Although we may be in our high times with all this lore reveal, I would like to bring up the topic of scaling in SS that I, personally, have never read or seen elsewhere in fiction (except for stuff like dune but that’s space stuff, it has to be big).
Imma give a couple examples: nightmare creatures being kilometres long and a fricking boat being kilometres WIDE. “WIDE”! Honestly the hardest for me to comprehend is the “Big Skelton”.
I’m being vage cuz I don’t wanna put a spoiler tag on.
So I’ve thought up of an idea. An idea to make it a bit easier for us (or just me) to comprehend these gargantuan… things.
We use images of any object irl to compare to the big things contained in the big world of SS.
Example: the height of the burj khalifa can be used to compare the height of what nightmare creature? Or the width of the “Big Tree” comprehended by the width of a thick building or two or three. Or the size of the crab demon (forgot the name) compared to a massive pile of dirt looming over you.
If you’re interested, then the best way to go about this is to get images either taken personally or from a ground pov perspective to understand how the characters in the story see this shi.
I saw the last example personally, lemme tell you if that pile of dirt was instead a real crab demon (still cba to look up the real name) I’d be petrified, paralysed… spellbound😏

Hey everyone,
I’ve been lurking on this subreddit for a while, and I’ve seen the way people can come together here to share their stories, advice, and support. I never thought I’d be the one writing something like this, but here I am.
This past year has been the hardest of my life. My mom passed away unexpectedly, and honestly, I’m still struggling to process it. She wasn’t just my mom—she was my best friend, my support system, and my home. It was always just the two of us growing up. My dad left when I was a baby, and we didn’t have much family around. We leaned on each other through everything.
She worked two jobs most of her life to make sure I had a good childhood, even when times were tough. She taught me the value of hard work, kindness, and resilience. She always believed in me, even when I couldn’t believe in myself.
When she passed, it felt like the ground was ripped out from under me. I lost not only my mom but also the one person who always had my back no matter what. I’ve been trying to rebuild my life since then, but it’s been an uphill battle. Between grief, medical bills left over from her care, and trying to stay afloat financially, it’s overwhelming.
I know Reddit isn’t a place to air sob stories, and I’m not here to guilt anyone into helping me. But I’ve hit a point where I need to reach out, even if it’s just to ask for a little kindness.
If anyone is willing to help me out, even in the smallest way, I’ve set up a Bitcoin wallet. It feels strange asking strangers for help, but I don’t know where else to turn. If you’re not in a position to help, that’s okay too—your kind words and encouragement mean just as much.
This isn’t easy to write, but I feel like I owe it to my mom to keep trying, to keep moving forward somehow. She wouldn’t want me to give up, and I don’t want to either.

I’ve been trying to get into better morning habits and wake up feeling energized. Coffee isn’t my thing, so I’ve started drinking Akina Royal Kenya Tea in the mornings, and it’s been a game-changer! The flavor is bold and smooth, and it gives just the right boost of caffeine to help me feel awake without overdoing it.
My mornings also include my dogs, my little alarm clocks! The moment I stir, they jump on my bed and make sure I’m up, even if it’s earlier than I planned (like 3 or 4 a.m. sometimes!). They’ve become part of my routine, and honestly, their excitement to start the day rubs off on me.
I’m still working on making mornings less rushed. I aim for 7 a.m., but most days, I end up snoozing till 8 and just barely making it out the door on time. I’d love to be able to wake up earlier, maybe squeeze in some exercise, and have a calm breakfast instead of rushing out with just a cup of tea.
