I had people coming over to assess the damage and fix the pipe, but one person who showed up gave me an uneasy feeling. While dealing with this, I tried calling my boyfriend multiple times for support, but all my calls went to voicemail because his phone was on DND. Thankfully, the plumber I had hired through a service app arrived shortly after, and everything got resolved. My boyfriend eventually came over, but by then, I was feeling upset and disappointed. I told him how his unavailability during emergencies made me feel unsupported and that I couldn’t rely on him as my first point of contact for critical situations. During this conversation, I mentioned that I have people in my life who’ve stepped up in emergencies before—like my dad, brother, and even an old fling (Kevin). Years ago, Kevin helped me out when I was stranded on the side of the road late at night by arranging for someone to tow my car. I made it clear to my boyfriend that I don’t have feelings for Kevin and haven’t even spoken to him in years, but his reliability in that moment stuck with me. My boyfriend took this badly, accusing me of comparing him to Kevin and saying it was unfair to bring up someone from my past. I explained that I wasn’t comparing them—I was simply sharing why I felt the way I did about needing reliable people in emergencies. He got upset, stormed out, and later texted me to say we should break up because he hates being compared to Kevin. Now I’m wondering if I was wrong for mentioning Kevin or if my approach to addressing this issue with my boyfriend was unfair. WIBTA?

I started my son in a judo/bjj Gym, this is his 2nd week. I have never done any MA class besides some karate when i was kid, so idk how this classes go. Anyways it feels like all he has done for past week is run, roll in the ground and watch bigger kids spar. What can i expect from the teachers? Should they show him moves or at his age all he will do is watch and do warm ups?

We've got a plan to start travelling Europe and the Uk by this time next year (Jan/Feb 2026). But, as two people who are completely new to this (and owning a vehicle), we have no clue how much everything will cost! i.e. buying the van, doing it up and the monthly expenses of travel too. We're both on minimum wage jobs, I've got a bit of savings behind me, but only want to touch that when essential.
Are we being overambitious trying to do it in a year? We also currently have no other income while travelling, so advice on this would also be useful!

 | 1940s shower hot valve wasn’t turning properly causing the faucets in the shower to leak. Took 2 days to get the corroded hardware off to get a look at the problem. Previous owners replaced the knobs and the threading for the knobs is plastic (because of course it is 🙄) and over time that plastic has ripped and failed and imbedded itself in the valve preventing it from turning completely off without the brute force of a wrench.
