I want to reference such a movie in a writing project but keep coming up blank. A show is okay too.
One idea is Pee-Wee avoiding going to the Drive-In with Dottie in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure but in this case PW isn't interested in her, and I'd love if they were interested in this reference, but blow it by being flaky.

It’s my ex boyfriend’s sibling’s passing anniversary. I’m struggling with the decision to message him my sympathy as it’s a rough time for him.
He had always had his ex girlfriend (maybe even his girlfriend) the entire time I’ve known him. We broke up a few weeks ago because I found out about it and tried to work things out. He was still messaging her. I had finally decided to walk away and haven’t seen or heard from him since the past few days.
I still love him and it hurts. I wonder if he even cared or loved me at all. My heart was filled with lies.

I don’t want to make this too political, but here it goes. I’m a huge fan of Dan Carlin & think his curiosity & passion for history is one of the main reasons I enjoy both modern and ancient history so much now.
Observation: Americans on this subreddit seem to be more conscientious and measured about current events in the word (Ukraine, trump, Gaza etc). When I go on other subs I see Americans talk in ways that are very different. Much more focused bullish tactics and power (perhaps a little more like General MacArthur). Do the Americans on this sub feel like this is a change due to the political climate, or has it always been this way and but it’s now easier to sense it with all the political catalysts about at the moment.
The way that Dan explained the 20th century and the enormous amount of death that happened injected a somber tone into my whole life, and made me value peace more than I ever did. Are Americans right now experiencing a different set of emotions right now? Could this be in part due to the there being almost no living people left in the population from WW1 & 2? Am I just over reacting and been exposed too much news?
I just wanted ti start the conversation as the people in the sub seem so different in their analysis to the general American public I see online at the moment

Hi everyone im last year college this year. Last year i was in USA with J1 visa to work for the summer. I came back in time and now i wanna go again for the summer as J1. I asked the work and travel agency and they said that i can still go if i have a little bit of exams for next semester left to do and i have. But i also have a little bit classes to redo next semester in fall.
So i was wondering what r the chances to get a J1 visa again this summer? Should I apply and spend money in this application? I wanna also gonin a new state this summer. Last year I was in Maryland this year maybe Nee Hampshire or Virginia somewhere.

 | I’ve been on the hunt for these shorts for years and I’m looking for the same ones so I can buy secondhand or something similar I can get from Nike’s website. I got these secondhand maybe 6 years ago. They’re soft and light like a 5” running short and sit well above the knee but not so much that you feel like you constantly need to keep adjusting your shorts. I have athletic/thicker quads and unlike all of my other shorts (including other nike running 5” shorts) these don’t hike up whenever I bend. Also, I have a pair of 7” inseam nike shorts and although these say they’re 6.5” it looks much similar to how my 5” ones look.
