Ernst Zündel (1939-2017) was a German-born publisher, author, and civil rights activist.
In 1983, Sabina Citron, founder of the Canadian holocaust remembrance association, filed a private complaint before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal against Zündel for a 28 page pamphlet he had published in 1977 called “Did 6 Million Really Die?”
In 1984, the Ontario government joined the criminal proceedings against Zündel based on Citron’s complaint, and Zündel underwent two criminal trials in 1985 and 1988 for the charge of “spreading false news.”
To wage the legal battle that was forced upon him, Zundel brought together an impressive all-star international team of researchers, historians, scientists, legal specialists, scholars, and experts to aid in his defense.
As a result of the two trials, an enormous quantity of evidence and testimony challenging the prevailing historical narrative was presented to the court under oath and thereby made part of the permanent public record.
This thread will shed light on the evidence, testimony, and explosive revelations from his trials.
Prior to the trial, the jewish defense league, now classified as a terrorist organization, protested the trial, made numerous threats on Zundel’s life, and planted a pipe bomb at his house in an attempt to silence his testimony from seeing the light of day.
Raul Hillberg, star witness for the prosecution and foremost holocaust expert, admitted under oath that “no written record exists that h|tler ever ordered the mass extermination of the jews” and that there is “no single report about gas chambers or correspondence to prove it”
Arnold Friedman, a key witness to the prosecution, who was at Auschwitz, testified he “saw prisoners marched towards the gas chambers and saw smoke and flames rise from the chimney” Upon cross examination, he stated he “never actually witnessed any mass executions or gassings.”
Rudolph Vrba, an Auschwitz escapee, wrote in his memoir that 12,000 jews were killed per day in the camp and he had personally witnessed the gassings. He then testified that his memoir was dramatized and served as an “artistic representation rather than a historical event.”
Robert Faurisson, a professor of literature, testified for the defense that there was no physical evidence of gas chambers, mass execution orders, 6 million was a lie, and that the structures that were currently standing at the camps were actually reconstructions.
Russell Barton testified on behalf of the defense that during his time stationed with the Red Cross at the Bergen Belson camp,, he saw no evidence to support a German policy of systematic extermination and testified that the deaths were primarily a result of starvation and typhus
Thies Christophersen was sent to Auschwitz as ascientist researching the development of synthetic rubber. Working side by side with the inmates, Christophersen testified that Auschwitz was a clean and happy work camp, and there was no evidence whatsoever of gas chambers.
Dr. William Lindsey, an American industrial chemist, testified that zyclon B was used for delousing both prisoners and officers, and its application as a mass gassing agent was a physical impossibility.
Ditlieb Felderer testified on behalf of the defense that during his 27 visits to Auschwitz, he witnessed an Olympic sized swimming pool, a banquet room, a sauna, a dance hall, and an orchestra that would perform for the inmates. He described the alleged gas chambers as a fake.
Jewish Prof. Roger G. Dommergue gave written testimony that was presented to the court on behalf of the defense that all that was really known is that 6 million people that didn’t exist, died in gas chambers that nobody ever saw, on orders that were never given.
Zündel took the stand and testified in his own defense. He explained to the court how his beliefs were formed through years of tireless research in search of the truth and fueled by his desire to rid the German people of the stigma that was a direct result of a historical lie.
Ivan Legacé, a cremation expert, testified for the defense. He refuted that 4400 bodies were being cremated daily at Auschwitz, claiming it was “preposterous and outside the realm of reality.” He stated that the maximum possible number of cremations daily was 184
Zündel commissioned Fred Leuchter, a gas chamber expert, to travel to Auschwitz, Treblinka and Majdanek to conduct a forensic analysis of the alleged gas chambers. He sampled the soil and brick, took measurements, drew floorplans, and sent the samples to a lab for analysis.

On 8 May 1995, Zundels Toronto residence was set on fire, resulting in $400,000 in damage. A group that called itself the “Jewish Armed Resistance Movement” claimed responsibility for the arson attack. The group had ties to the JDL and Meir Halevi.
The phrase “6 million jews d€ad” was used over 245 times from 1865 to 1945. NOT ONCE WAS IT EVER TRUE.

David Irving testified for Zündel, stating that”There isn’t a shred of evidence that H;tler ordered the mass extermination of the jews” He produced evidence in court that the British psychological warfare executive engineered the gas chamber story as atrocity propaganda.
On dated August 27, 1943, Victor Cavendish-Bentinck, head of the British Psychological Warfare Executive, admitted that there was not the slightest evidence that ‘gas chambers” existed and that such tales of their alleged existence were employed solely for propaganda purposes. Gonna play a one shot soon (ahs: freakshow vibes, some slight inspo from wild beyond the witchlight I think). Unsure exactly what level we’re gonna play but probably at least 6, max 9.
Unsure what class I wanna play! Something with fun mechanics, clever ways to solve problems, a fair bit of damage dealing.
I guess my main question is, is there any class specifically that’s great at these levels but not necessarily fun in tier 1 or in late game?
Caveats:
- I think no cleric, bard, or druid since I’ve played those recently/currently. Unless you have a really killer idea I guess
- I want it to be monoclass most likely to take full advantage of class features and feats. If you have a good multiclass dip idea, sell me on it
- Leaning into optimization is the goal, no munchkinning necessary, but I will need to contribute to combat because there will be several newer players. I’ll prob dump STR if I’m a DEX fighter, dump INT if I’m a CHA caster, etc
- No dependency on specific magic items, probably just +1 weapon if anything but I can ask my DM and he’ll probably let me have something cool and specific within reason
