I've Idled for a long time now, in game and (I thought) in the subreddit. I guess I've just browsed and never joined until today... Anyway, I don't recall seeing timed quests before. The game is Idle Champions after all, so a timed quest does not feel very idley. I certainly didn't expect this.
I think I already failed this one because it's been over 30 minutes (Tomb of Champions), so I'm curious about a couple things to get through this.
- Do I need to use speed potions to get through in time?
- Does the banter between stages count against us in the 30 minute timer for the quest?

Hey people. So a longggg time ago I read a desi book and the story was like there's a guy whose dadi has arranged a marriage for him with her old frenemys granddaughter, the wedding will take place at their haveli. The guy had also briefly met her once but she was in a ghungat and he only saw her hands and the girl also blames him for having a hand fetish lol. So the guy his dadi and his best friend (I think his name was burhan) head to the mansion. Then there's some sort of misunderstanding because the main girl (bride) has a bestie and everybody in that haveli calls them both by the same nickname "baby baji" or smth like that. One of the girls name is Zaina. There's even a chapter where the main girl is dancing on "chap tilak" by abida parveen in her room. Also, the book was probably named smth like "the veil" or "veiled". 2025.01.24 19:55 menddo Thought i had a dental abscess, ER says not, still was prescribed clindamycin. Do I take it?
I've had chronic problems on a tooth that needed a root canal but got a giant filling instead. Recently I had swelling on the tooth's gum (what i thought was a dental abscess or something) so I went to a walk in clinic and they prescribed me amoxicillin 500 for 7 days.
Never any major pain, just discomfort, and after 5 days on amoxicillin the "abscess" started to burst which made what i think is my lymph node swell. On day 7 i noticed a reformation of the abscess on the gum, as well as more pressure in the lymph node area, so i went to the ER.
At the ER a CT scan was taken where they said there was no abscess, at least not active (no drainage or puss) and that all there was is a periapical luceny.
Now, they gave me a script for clindamycin, which i've heard can have insane side effects. Me being as nervous as I am, read up on it and am now scared shitless and don't want to take it. Should I though? Is it the right call or is the antibiotic being prescribed where not needed?

2025.01.24 19:55 Resident_Accident_29 Is being (too) serious about career building a turn off?
Long story short, I'm a 1st generation Jamaican-American. Both parents are Jamaicans and they met here. They split when I was young. Mom made it to the middle class, while dad and the rest of his family is stuck in the hood forever. Seeing the difference between my upbringing being able to go back and forth from the hood, while my sister and cousins were stuck there is a whole other level of tragedy.
Seeing the literal dirt roads my mom came from in Jamaica, then seeing how she escaped the hood in America, then also seeing how my life has been set up far greater than my generation on my dad's side has me essentially "poverty traumatized"? It was never brought up explicitly, but "excellency at all costs" was beaten into me my entire childhood. I wasn't allowed to get anything less than a 93/100 on any tests until high school where my mom finally chilled a bit.
Now that I'm almost 24, I have this same drive where I am essentially obligated to carry on the legacy of real progress that my grandmother afforded my mother, and what my mom afforded me.
When it comes to dating, I just got to a spot in my business where I can slow down and afford to date. What I've come to realize (and what I'm trying to see if others agree with or not), is that being hyper career focused isn't generally liked? I feel like I'm damn near scaring away women with the intensity I've been brought up to have and choose to carry forward.
I feel like the dating incentives are geared towards having a great time in the present, and not really about building a future together. And because I've seen what has happened with my dad and his family who only cared about the "here and now", the degree of seriousness I have regarding this I feel is a large turn off.
Could be wrong, which is why I'm asking Reddit. Please no smart answers.

 | Boy was this a grind, nearly every deck I faced at 90+ was Bullseye discard. I had to swap out Caeira for Rogue to counter all of those pesky Morbius' (Morbi?) near the very top of the ladder. Rogue also acted as a good counter to all the Victoria Hand/Devil Dinosaur decks and also against the occasional Surfer decks. With most of the cards being under 3 power, Valkyrie was also great cube stealer. I've been having a really bad flare for about a week now. I've been barely able to stand or walk without fainting and I've missed most of this week of work. My husband has wanted to take me to the ER but I feel like there's nothing they can do that I'm not already doing. I feel like they're just going to give me fluids and electrolytes, which I'm already making sure to do. Is there something they can actually do to help? If not, how have you guys gotten out of a big flare?
