I get it, Amazon. You’re trying to be the fastest—but damn, it's like a race to failure every time. How do you advertise One-Day Delivery and then sit there, watching packages crawl to my door at the speed of molasses? Every time I order, I get the same story—“It’ll be there tomorrow”... and then tomorrow becomes "We missed it." Get it together!
I swear, the only thing that gets delivered faster than the product is the disappointment I feel after every single delay notification.
Stop hyping up your logistics if you can't even keep your promises. And don’t even get me started on your "customer service," where a bot tells you to "track your package" as if I'm not watching the delivery countdown freeze at 99%. 🙄
Can we just agree Amazon has mastered the art of not delivering on time with it's one-day delivery as a functionless feature like a toy of some toddler? Is it a joke or an inside challenge at this point?

I’m seeing reports across the country that immigration raids are happening. I don’t know that anyone conducting a raid cares about doing a document check, but it wouldn’t be the worst thing to have a passport card/copies of documents if you’re concerned.

I think we can all agree that this city NEEDS immigrants (including legal residents and citizens who happen to be POCs) to run restaurant kitchens, work the port, etc.
This city is amazing because of all of the gorgeous people who live here. I cannot thank all of the central/latin Americans who rebuilt this city post Katrina. Or the Vietnamese who work all of the fishing and shrimping boats. I don’t care about your immigration status - only your safety.

Several years ago, my wife and I flew cross country to Denver multiple times to go to an IVF (invitro) clinic there. We always fly out of New Orleans (2.5 hours from where we live) because there are direct flights, and that helps my anxiety so much. It is also usually much cheaper. Not to mention the NOLA airport is so nice and easy to deal with. One particular flight was leaving at 5:00 PM on a June evening. There had been numerous thunderstorms around NOLA as we drove in, and I was a little anxious to start with. We always fly Southwest, so our particular order of boarding for that flight meant that I was at the front of the line nearest the gate counter. As I'm standing there, the pilot comes walking up the ramp and begins discussing the weather with the gate officer. He says that winds and storms around Denver were particularly bad, and they were talking about diverting. He then said that there might not be enough fuel to make it to Albuquerque, and he was going to do the best he could. An off duty pilot flying with his family made his way to the front, and began talking to the pilot. He began telling him that he was worried about making it and being able to divert if necessary. Hearing all of this his heightened my anxiety big time! I remember we taxied and took off faster than I've ever seen. We literally started taking off while going around the turn to the runway. Ha. The flight was a little bumpy and I remember us flying around a lot of intense thunderstorms and lightning. Luckily, we landed in Denver with a little turbulence, but it wasn't bad at all. I remember thinking that none of the other passengers, besides a few up front, had even heard the discussions and did not even know that there was a possibility of diverting. The moral of the story? If you are an anxious flyer, do not listen to what the pilot is telling the gate officers when he comes up the ramp before a flight. Lol. It also goes to show that so much is talked about behind the scenes, that we as passengers do not hear, and DO NOT need to hear! Kudos to the wonderful pilots that get us there safely while having to deal with all of the numerous variables. I have mad respect for them.

I've worked only for 2 companies in my life (15 years of experience). The first one was impossible for OE (I had to work 50-60h per week, on-site) and second one is amazing (only ~10h work per week, remote). I'm not OE-ing right now because I'm finishing my PhD, but I will start to job hunt soon.
What is your feeling? Considering ONLY the remote positions, what is the percentage of companies that are OE-friendly?
I mean: think how many times you've started a new company and had to quit in a few days/weeks because boss would always micromanage, it had lots of meetings, it required webcam on all the time, etc.
Do you think that 50% of the remote Js can be OE-ed or less than that?

Basically in any game I run after between 10-15 minutes of gameplay, sometimes 30, the framerate absolutely tanks and the latency becomes so bad it's unplayable.
This happens in Forza Horizon and Motorsport, the Crew Motorfest, Helldivers, Sifu, Ghostrunner, etc. Basically any game that's not Minecraft or Fortnite, and most of these games I can un at high settings but I choose to run them on low-medium. Also, all my drivers are up to date.
My rig has a 2080TI, i9900k, 64gb of DDR4, and all my games run off a 2TB Samsung SSD.
Does anyone know why this would be happening, it's super frustrating.
