I live in the UK and my aging father lives on his own in a third world country. He has dementia and a lung disorder so he has to use oxygen supply 24/7.
Last year I started managing a team of three male caregivers who work in shifts.
There are several visible security cameras installed in the house and they know they’re being monitored.
Since I live abroad you can imagine the power imbalance as they know I need them to keep my father alive yet I don’t have much influence over them since I’m not physically there.
I video call my father every day and visit home a few times a year and work remotely from there but I can’t do more than that.
This is a poor country and these are certified nurses but they make so many medical mistakes and have poor judgment that I sometimes wonder how they got their degrees.
We’ve been through bad caregivers in the past but this team has been okay for the past 6 months or so. However, there’s recently been a few cases of neglect:
- They didn’t tell me about a skin condition that my father developed and started gaslighting me when I questioned them and said it’s because of the cold weather. Turned out it was shingles.
- My father had a haemorrhage in his eye but they started gaslighting me and saying it’s just ‘allergy’ and they ‘just noticed it’. When I urged them to take him to see a doctor they resisted the idea and started smirking and asked me to calm down.
- I went to the capital to meet with an expert in lung diseases to get a second opinion but the main caregiver started dismissing his opinion and said that the new drugs he prescribed are unlikely to work, etc It's likely because it's additional work for him since he has to give them to my dad in a nebulizer 3 times a day.
- The worst part is today when one of the caregivers came to the house in the morning clearly sick but didn’t tell me. I saw how sick he was while reviewing the cameras footage in the morning. He was coughing and sneezing without wearing a mask so I asked him to go home. He started gaslighting me and saying that it’s ‘allergies’ because of the cold weather and that he 'just started having symptoms'. Anyway, he went home and the housemaid stayed there with my father until the night shift of the next caregiver.
They get paid really well but this doesn’t seem to make any difference. It’s life or death and they’re gambling with my father’s health.
If I fire them and get a new team of caregivers there’s no guarantee that they’ll be any better. The issue is that there’s no one there to monitor them.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey! I’m a 25 f 115 lbs for reference.
I suspect I have diabetes, I’ve called my doctor but no call back. My issue right now is the insatiable thirst and SWEATING. oh my god I cannot stop sweating. I have never drank so much water in my life. Well this morning it got so bad that I kept waking up and I slept awful last night, I tested with a Ketone strip and it just looks like a trace, really in between the trace (5) and small (15) colors. I called both of my doctors and no answer, what do I do? A trace isn’t dangerous so I’m thinking I’ll just wait until Monday. But this thirst thing is KILLING me. We can’t drink our tap water, so I’ve been flying through bottles and my water purifier, i have dreams about chugging water. I feel very nauseous today, and so so tired, I’m not going to go to the hospital or anything I just don’t know what to do when my doctors literally won’t answer
Also- I eat carbs, I’m not on any type of diet. I’m relatively healthy, I work out a few times a week there is no reason for me to feel this bad ALL THE TIME. anyways, diabetes runs in my family and I’m convinced this is it.

2025.01.24 21:11 ULTL Honest Hearts Legion Playthrough Idea
A while ago somebody in one of the FNV subs asked what DLC everybody recommended they play first. I suggested Honest Hearts as it is the first one and kinda the easiest. In the comment I mentioned it was relatively quick being that it’s mostly comprised of fetch quests and blastin MFs and that the story felt pretty unfinished. Another commenter said the DLC was clearly unfinished as there is no real legion play through and your option for that is just kill everybody (boring).
So here’s my idea for a legion play through/alternate start. I’m taking inspiration from the plot of Apocalypse now. Caesar is aware and has proof that Joshua Graham is still alive. His white legs have destroyed New Cannan but leaving the 2 most important guys alive is considered a failure. Caesar sends frumentarii after frumentarii and receives nothing in return. Carsar would never admit to J.G being alive so he has a delegate come to you with a task. J.G is out there and has influenced more than 1 tribe who’s willing to defend him with their lives. Courier 6 would essentially be tasked with the same job as Willard with J.G mirroring Colonel Kurtz.
Obviously this could go with the spy angle where you infiltrate the caravan and go into Zion that way. Perhaps you could somehow sneak into the tunnel that the sorrows use to escape in Daniels ending if you were going for a more sneak based approach. Obviously there would have to be a few more quests thrown in so it wouldn’t just be “kill J.G” but I think at least this would be a good starting point. All in all I love Apoc Now and I could see the plot working but I’d like to hear what you all think! Let me know!

 | I've been an avid user of the superlight for 3 years or so and I even repurchased it as I do feel comfortable with the mouse although with these superlights I've experienced so many issues like tracking issues on usually when the mouse is low on battery as well side buttons double clicking and it has been annoying so I was wondering if anyone out there with a similar grip style has mice they find ideal for it.
