Reader discretion advised—the wait will hurt. *My Thoughts: 5 Stars, *🤯🤯🤯 This book had everything I crave in a fantasy romance: rich worldbuilding, morally grey characters, and a romance that builds tension so well it practically vibrates off the page. The characters are top-tier—gloriously flawed and refreshingly real in a genre where everyone’s often too perfect. And the romance? Chef’s kiss. The slow-burn connection between Acker and Brynn is worth every second of the buildup. The majority of this book felt like a solid 4-star read for me. The story is engrossing, but I really could’ve used a map or a glossary to keep track of the worldbuilding. There are a lot of moving pieces here, and some visual aids would’ve made the experience even better. But then the ending hit. I knew going in that there was a plot twist, so I was on high alert for any foreshadowing. And yet… I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. Not even a little. It completely floored me and bumped this up to a 5-star read. The twist was brilliantly executed, and I’m still not over it. Well played, Rachel Schneider. Well played. A quick warning: starting this book before the sequel release date is announced is a rookie mistake (which I absolutely made). The wait for Book 2 is going to be agony. So, proceed with caution, folks. I think it’s fair for them to have questions about their training, especially since many sit around for a year waiting for the Apache course to start. 2025.01.24 23:21 rose17055 Continental Testing Delays in IL
I cannot start my new job in IL until Continental Testing mails the official pass letter to me. They said it would be 10 business days from the exam date (1/11), which would be today. Now they are saying 15. There were other previous delays on their behalf with the ATT as well.
This is really cutting it close with my start date (which I already moved) and factoring time for U.S. postal service. I see some other posts here saying you can drive to Springfield to just apply for the license itself. Am I able to do this without the offical pass letter in hand? Or any other advice?
