2025.01.24 23:10 Nard-Barf Don’t be afraid to find a new group if your current one isn’t jiving. This game is unbelievable with the right people. There are lots of resources to keep looking.
I’ve been with a group who I met through the Meetup app for the last few months. They are good fun people but something doesn’t feel right with them. The DM is a genius with lore and rules, and keeps things crazy, but maybe a little too crazy for my taste. In an unbalanced sense, in our favor. And he makes up rules for us that seem a little scatterbrained. The players are nice but never roleplay. Everything thing is an out-of-character joke and we go on long real-life tangents that often stops the game. I still join them every week and have a good laugh-filled time, but it’s not what I’m used to or expect.
I joined a different one recently on another day. Only 2 sessions. Holy shit, I found my people. The group story telling is amazing. The players are all on the same level, even the few beginners, who everyone lends their hand to teach and raise up. I love the DM, smart, quick, and fair. Then we had some downtime and found out we have a lot of real things in common. A lot. Could be a new friend. It’s very tight and cohesive and everyone is easy to talk to. In and out of character. So much fun. I see the full potential of this game.
I say keep looking even if you’re a little dissatisfied and have the time. I found a lot of places to find a new game over the years. Maybe you can share more?
- The Meetup app is great.
- Internet groups exist, like Roll20, but I prefer in-person groups.
- Reddit has lots of lfg subreddits.
- Social media (like Facebook 🤢) does too.
- Go to game stores and just ask around. They sometimes have signup sheets too.
- Colleges and universities have game clubs.
- Learn to DM and create your own, people will come. I relied on that one for a while.

Agora, pesquisando sobre relações internacionais, me vi totalmente apaixonada pela área, apesar da questão da inserção no mercado de trabalho nessa área seja um pouco dificil como vi algumas pessoas falando, mas pensei na possibilidade de me especializar em áreas mais amplas dentro do RI e quem sabe prestar algum concurso. Every day I find something else about this game that makes me scratch my head. I really wish, for example, that we could just choose the loadout of our station hab defenses. I don't see a good reason why we can't. Because it would mean we can actually make good defenses? Ok?? This game has a high emphasis on realism so I don't see the problem here?
I digress, is there a specific tech that you can research to give your layered defense a weapon that can actually engage an alien at range?? It boggles my mind that my station is still using 8 inch cannons after I researched railgun tech. I assumed, like an idiot, that you would want longe range defense on your station that can't move during combat. But I guess I'm just a fool that doesn't understand how a station would be "realistically" armed.

So I just realized my valves don’t close on my factory NPP… they are stuck open and only make a noise when I hit stealth mode. Already disconnected the battery and checked the Fuse and nothing. Called a few dealers to see if they can reprogram it but they have no idea. Any ideas? before I take it in for a diagnostic test next week
