Hi there, I'll try not to make this post too long while also providing relevant details. My older cat Libby (17F) recently lost her bonded littermate Indie (17M). It was a hard loss for the whole family and she became depressed and removed. Though we hadn't seen her interact with other cats, her and Indie always got along well or were at least tolerant so we recently adopted and brought Blue (10M) into the house. While Blue is 10, he is very high energy compared to Libby and much smaller in size. While Libby will occasionally play, she prefers to chill in her retirement.
We did our best over a two week period to follow the typical introduction steps:
- Kept Blue in a separate room with separate litter box, food water, toys
- Played with them separately and tried to prioritize Libby
- Switched rooms to get accustom to scent
- They met under the door first with lots of growls
- Then put up baby gate so they could sniff and tried positive reinforcement with toys, pets, etc.
It felt like good progress was being made until a few days ago. As Blue is getting more used to the house, it's getting more confident and it seems like he's trying to bully Libby and become the alpha. He doesn't respect her space and will taunt her until she attacks him, and will now fight back vs. retreating. Because of this we've started closing Blue back in his bedroom at night to give Libby a break and try to keep her confidence high. I also try to play with Blue in the morning and evening, although admittedly with school and work it may not always be enough. We also have food puzzles and toys all over the house to try to keep them busy.
With all that context, any advice? TYIA!

2025.01.24 23:21 gm_construct_ Tried to change my spouses clothes and now I can’t do anything
Long story short, I spent a lot of time grinding to pickpocket level 100 so I could change the clothes on my followers and spouse. The follower changed into their new clothes instantly and everything worked well, however the spouse is not changing.
No matter if I give them the old clothes back, new clothes or anything else they wont change into anything. I was really excited to finally change her out of the rags she was in and now I can’t do anything :(.
I play on console so mods are kind of not available. Still any help would be greatly appreciated.

This really isn’t intended to be a political debate. I’m only looking for insight and discussion about this one specific issue. Please don’t come for me.
The new administration has put a freeze on National Institutes of Health. This is where we go to look at clinical trials. Study sessions have been canceled indefinitely. No study sessions means no grant reviews. No grant reviews means no grants rewarded. No grants means no research. No clinical trials. At least with this type of funding, which is a significant percentage of research.
I hope this is temporary but either way, it’s scary for people living with chronic conditions that rely on research for advancements on treatments. Is anyone else concerned with this issue? Again, I hope this is temporary while things are transitioning but I can’t help but feel disappointed and scared.
