2025.01.24 23:40 FulmarusGlacialis Two game design problems with the final (Spoilers, obviously)
Really enjoyed this season but the final felt weak, and sadly I think it's by the design of the game rather than any particular choices the players made.
Firstly the seer. Could have been fun earlier in the season but in the final episode it just meant that all the drama was centred around two players who were both absolutely guaranteed to get voted out. The other players had no way of knowing which one was lying and there's no incentive to keep either of them around.
Secondly that final round was silly. I've seen people saying that the winners were selfish but I disagree completely, there's a reason every single player voted to eliminate again every time. The more players eliminated increases the chance that no traitors were left AND eliminating other players increases your share of the prize AND you'd immediately put a target on your own back by voting to stop the eliminations. If you're a traitor in that round you want the eliminations to stop because you're winning the same amount either way.
The game would be more interesting if there was an incentive to keep faithfuls in otherwise it just falls a bit flat.
The lack of discussion kind of kills it too, I want to see them fight their corner or try to come up with a plan.

My partner and I live in a relatively small apartment in a big city. He doesn’t work, and his main hobbies tend to be quite loud—he enjoys watching TV or YouTube, listening to podcasts, and so on.
My hobbies, on the other hand, are the complete opposite. I love reading and writing, which don’t make much noise and often require a quiet environment. Not absolute silence, but if a finance podcast or the Spotify Top 50 is blasting, I find it impossible to focus.
Asking him to wear headphones is out of the question—he simply refuses. More often than not, I end up wearing my own headphones with "white noice" or music without singing to cancel his out, or I leave the apartment to find a quieter space.
I mostly work from home, so it's a constant battle between noise and silence..
But I’m curious—how do things work in your relationships? Do you have any tips for creating a peaceful environment for reading and writing, or am I just being unreasonable for needing quiet? I’m especially interested in hearing from those without children, as I imagine that adds another layer to the challenge, but I welcome input from everyone!
