I am doing this in React, but regardless concepts should be the same.
I have ul with li items
The ul is set as the root
The li items are being observed. They are the entries.
Removing Items: When the screen width shrinks, which causes the last li element to collide with the edge of ul (aka isIntersecting is false), I .pop() off the item into a popover.
Adding Items Back: But the problem is adding items back…so since I popped the observed item, I can no longer check if it is isIntersecting to add items back when screen width increases.
So do I actually have to always keep the items there even if I push them in the popover? And just change CSS visibility to none? But I don’t know for screen readers this will register as duplicate nav item. I believe CSS hidden wouldn’t be observable.

Hello, I am preparing to study TFS. I have decided to go with Slay the PE. Couple questions as I embark on this adventure:
- How flexible is Slay the PE when it comes to staying on schedule? I have kiddos and a wife going after her masters degree. I may need to leniency depending on the week.
- When it comes to do the scheduled break, is that just one 50 minute break half way through the test?
- I haven't scheduled my exam yet. I wanted to work through StPE course first before I am confident that I am ready to take my exam at "x" date. Will this bite me for the TFS exam? are they usually a few months out? Any insight would be great.
- Lastly, does anyone know if StPE have a calculator tip section? I don't see it on their course syllabus (maybe I missed it). I didn't need to use any of the functions for the FE. I am considering on spending some time learning those functions for this exam as I feel they may be helpful? Again, any insight on this is greatly appreciated.

Someone who gives us the rush when that notification appears. Someone who is oddly disconnected from our life, yet so close, in an enticing way where anonymity creates familiarity and closeness.

A bit about myself: I am 32 years old, and from Germany. I have a normal build, with short dark hair, and a trimmed beard. Warm and soft looking eyes, yet equally driven. I love fixing things, and building things. My hobbies range from simple walks and cooking and baking, to DIY and electronics design and repair. I also have watched a lot of TV shows, some of which I would love to talk about if only to know I am not the only one still watching that bizarre show. I am very passionate about the things I do.
I also like to write. It used to be on a request basis for clients, now it is more of a musing for myself, and maybe a passion we can explore together? I posted a few of my stories on my profile.
I would love to take things further in that direction, but only after a while and if the chemistry between us is right.

I recently bought a Psa compensator to put on my dagger.It fired perfectly the first day.The 2nd day I went to the range I was having feeding issues left and right.Upon researching the issue I learned that I probably needed to change my spring to a lower weight spring.I bought 2 Glock 19 springs from Springco.One is 15 lbs,and the other is 13.I then ordered 2 recoil rods from PSA so that I could test them both out at the range to see which would work better.Upon putting the springs on the rods I learned that the springs just come right off of the rod even after putting the screw on.Is there supposed to be a washer that came with the rods?If not,how are the springs supposed to stay on?I tried flipping the springs the other way and they did the same thing.Any help is appreciated.Thanks!

I had to replace my screen on my Legion S7 (15ACH6) about a year ago because my cat decided to bit it while I was looking away (I have replaced it twice for this reason...). I used a $70 eBay display with the same part number because there is no way I am paying $350 for a display on a laptop I paid $600 for. Ever since I replaced it, I have not had brightness control without closing and opening the lid after making the adjustment. I figured I just got a non-genuine display, but I've never had any other issues. Yesterday, I was notified of a bios update, so I started it, and while it was updating, I looked up the patch notes and saw that it included a fix for brightness control not working.
I didn't have a lot of hope for it working, because it hasn't worked for a year. To my surprise though, when it started, I pressed the brightness adjustment key and it worked. It is still so unreal to change the brightness on this laptop and for it to work. If you've had issues like I have, try the December bios update. It might fix the problem.

2025.01.24 23:31 A_Time_Space_Person I have ~4 years of experience as a machine learning engineer. A year ago, I didn't believe LLMs could replace software engineers. Today, I can see this happening. What's the best way to deal with this? How can I maximize the probability of keeping my job?
As the title says, I am working as a machine learning engineer for the last 4 years or so and a year ago I remember using ChatGPT for some work on regular expressions. It was bad, so I confirmed my belief that LLMs would most likely not replace human programmers in the near future.
Fast forward to today. I have used Claude (Anthropic's model) for the following tasks:
- suggesting a server architecture for a server written half in C++, half in Python
- writing C++ code which manages threads
- suggesting a pattern by which C++ can pass data to Python and implementing it
- suggesting and implementing a method by which I could create new, usable tensors out of existing ones
- a lot of code that I would have known how to write myself, but would have taken me a lot of time
I still think LLMs are not quite on a level where they can fully replace human programmers: they can overlook things that happened a few messages ago and they can't really handle more than one task at a time. If you give them a relatively large codebase and ask them to write some non-straighforward functionality for you they will most likely produce buggy code. However, I have to say that I am amazed how LLMs transformed my workflow. My workday mostly consists of chatting with Claude, code reviewing its code and asking for additional explanations if needed.
Because of this, I can see in the near future that programmers could be replaced by LLMs.
Now, the thing is, I really enjoy software engineering / machine learning engineering. I was into computers since I was young and I really like this profession. However, I have grown concerned that my job may dissapear since LLMs have become (and are becoming) so powerful.
My ambition is to become a software architect, but for that you need at least 10 years of experience, which I may not even get as I may get replaced by an LLM before I can reach that tenure.
Any advice on how to deal with this? Am I overreacting? How can I maximize the probability of keeping my job?
