Took my 18 year old cat to vet, a little under weight. She eats can food every 12 hours and has Beyond hard food out all the time to munch on. Seems she might not like it any more. Is there a healthy kitten or something fattening lol…. Hard food I can give her?
I say healthy because there are a lot of garbage brands, she use to eat Blue

2025.01.24 23:36 Zydairu My “christian” family kept a secret of what my cousin did to his half sister. Only my mom has told us about it
This happened on a family vacation 10 years ago. About 15 people went on this vacation. My cousin who was around 16 at the time apparently “messed with” his younger half sister who was probably under 10 at the time. According to my mom he threatened his sister so she wouldn’t tell. For context the 16 year old cousin was and still is a pretty big dude who plays football. His half sister was a scrawny kid. Whatever the threat was I have no doubt it was scary.
Soon after they went home they found out because the half sister wasn’t behaving right. They found out through her what happened. At this point the older adults of my family knew what happened. I say older adults because I was 19 at this time. Older Adults include: Mom, Dad, Uncle & “step aunt” (parents of both cousins in this incident) my other uncle and aunt and my grandmother. My 16 year old cousin was arrested and a judge ruled he couldn’t be around his half siblings until they turned 18. He had to live with our grandma while he finished out high school.
His step mom wanted to convince his Dad to pretty much abandon him because of what he did. She was furious because apparently someone did something to her when she was a kid too. Now it happened to her own daughter by her step son. She also wanted to move to another state. My uncle was in a tough position because what his son had did. He still had to check in and take care of him while he lived at my grandmother’s house. This made his wife more mad and eventually she filed for divorce. She initially kept the house but moved to another state eventually.
Keep in mind while all this is going on me and my siblings know nothing. We had initially heard to pray for my uncle and step aunt with no details. Eventually we heard they were getting a divorce. We still didn’t know and this could be months maybe a year later. My brother finally asked my Mom what was going on. She finally filled us in and honestly I didn’t know how I fully felt at that moment because all of this took place in the background.
I want to add more context so my family goes to the same church as my uncle and aunt. Not to be confused with my Uncle and Step aunt of my cousins who the story is about. I will refer to my aunt and uncle who we attend church with as my immediate aunt and uncle. They are actually the pastor and First Lady of our church.
Later that year we finally get to see our younger cousins from my uncle and now his former wife(step aunt). The girl who was messed with obviously wasn’t doing well and she wasn’t comfortable. She was refusing to come into church and she was quite emotional. I think she had a break down later that day which was also Father’s Day. I felt strangely like my family was ready for her to get over the incident. She felt awkward in front of us and probably blamed herself too. I remember feeling bad for her.
A year or two later the her older half brother (the cousin who touched her) came to visit(he was now late teens or early 20s). I feel weird being around him especially since he probably doesn’t know I know. I also found out my pastor uncle didn’t know I knew. I was riding with him in the car talking about that cousin. I asked him if my cousin would have to come back and apologize to his half sister one day. The tone of the conversation shifted. My uncle said “not necessarily…” Which was odd for me to hear a Christian leader say. Then he asked me an odd question. He said “How’d you find that out?” It was almost as if I wasn’t supposed to know. I told him my mom told me and my brother and all he said was “hmm.” It’s weird for me also because this particular uncle will lecture you if you do wrong WHETHER YOU WANT TO HEAR IT OR NOT. It’s weird that we didn’t get into a conversation about that incident especially when he rants about sexual sins in sermons.
Ive felt more and more awkward over the years now. My one cousin has been allowed to come with us on vacations and feel comfortable. He even got baptized. Meanwhile when his half sister has visited she doesn’t seem to feel good. My preacher uncle and aunt tried to emphasize that she needs to attend church but she isn’t concerned about that. I don’t like this at all. They seem more forgiving of her older half brother because I guess he accepted God in his life. What does that mean if you committed an a vial sexual sin and are you seeking redemption for it?

So I’ve been dating around for awhile. One girl in particular and I are starting to get quite serious. I want to make things exclusive between the two of us soon. Problem is… I went on 3 dates with this other girl that lives out of state. We’ve had some great conversations and she (it seems to me) is really into me, and wants to date me. I’ve pushed back on that because she didn’t live where I live and I’m not interested in long distance. I thought that would be the end of it. She decided to move to my city (by her own words, I was a factor in that decision). There is absolutely nothing wrong with this girl, I just have much stronger feelings for the other. She expects we will date when she arrives this week, and I can’t find the heart to tell her I don’t want that. I could suck it up and just be honest with her, but the final wrinkle is, she will work very closely with me upon moving here. And I’m sure her reaction to the truth would make things uncomfortable for me at work. Is honesty really the best policy here? I don’t think the reason I can’t date her matters, as long as it gives her closure and allows us both to work peacefully with each other.
Where I got myself into deep shit, is I told her I was not seeing other people when I was. It wasn’t an agreement of exclusivity. She told me she was only dating me, and asked if I was also… I felt it would break her heart a little if I admitted I was dating other girls, so I lied…thought she would never move here and that the lie would die there. is honesty really the best policy here? Trust me, it will not go over well. And if there is another way, what would I even say to provide her some closure without making things weird??

2025.01.24 23:36 RaiderMedic93 I recently learned why I don't have some features I've seen here... I don't have the Brave New World expansion.
I have Gods and Kings and have enjoyed it. I am a casual player, (generally prince/king) with a variety of maps. I can count on one hand the number of times I've not played as the Americans. I usually end up just wiping everyone else out after the AI thinks I'm weak militarily, but doesn't factor in finance and production. For some reason, I enjoy baiting them to a fight and then all but wiping them out...
My question is, should I get the Brave New World expansion? I've never played CIv 6, absolutely love 1-5, gonna wait and see for Civ 7.
Would it add more to the game for me (according to steam, I've played ~1300 hours since I got it in 2014). Or should I just keep tooling around being a tyrant?
Should I try other civilizations? If so, which ones?

What do you do when God forgets about you? I understand there’s 8 billion people on the planet and it would be hard to keep track of all of them but I’m just wondering what I as a human being can do. My entire life has been struggled with things like mental health, depression, isolation, etc. I constantly worked so hard on self improvement and trying to better myself spiritually and morally but nothing ever improves. I prayed to god for years and asked for help, but never got a response. Ive watched others find happiness, love, peace, yet for some reason I’ve been left out in the cold. Im just wondering what I did to be forgotten? I have my faults and I am a sinner, but I always tried my best everyday.
What do you do when god forgets about you? Maybe I did something wrong or unforgivable, how would I know? I ask him to talk to me or show me signs and I never hear back.

Hi,
I got an offer from UBC Okanagan for their MDS program. I graduated with a degree in Health Sciences (pharmacology), but I don’t enjoy wet lab research so I am aiming for more of an analyst career. Do you think their program is worth it?
I looked their curriculum and feel like it is designed for someone who is looking to switch career rather than becoming specialized in data science. It seems be a bit too basic?
I am taking some classes for credits and I think I might have already covered those materials. What makes me consider it is that I feel like I really need a mastedegree to step foot in this field.
Pluses: + It’s 10 months + Get me a master
Minus: - It’s 10 months - Quite Expensive (30k CAD) - Might not give me the skills necessary
I also applied to Data Science in Biology and Artificial Intelligence in Medicine at UofT, which are the 2 programs that I slightly prefer but the results for those are likely to be released after the acceptance deadline.

I know that healing isn't linear and that time can't come faster than it already is. I know that I can't force myself or my life to become something else and that it's a gradual change(s) that moves things along. I know that I'm trying my best and that I have to take these kinds of feelings in stride, but some nights I am paralyzed by gut-wrenching misery. I curl into a ball and just ooze sorrow and self loathing, to the point where I'm not sure why I continue to do any of this. There are parts of myself that I cannot seem to reconcile, and I fear that I will now forever exist in a state of despair and melancholy.
I wish I was better at getting better. I wish I was better at being better. I wish I wasn't me.
