I've earned a 6-figure salary at each of the 3 jobs I've had since I moved here 8 years ago.
In a week, I'll have been unemployed 2 years. I have about a decade of experience in the field. I even worked at Microsoft for a while.
I "didn't need the help," and my next job was "right around the corner," so I've been putting it off (actually not even entertaining the idea until this week), but I just got approved for an EBT card today. In the office, there were signs up about free showers and not doing drugs in the bathroom or mistreating public servants. To say I felt out of place would be an understatement.
I have more to say, but I'll leave it at that for now. My income was high enough that, given unemployment compensation and a few lucky breaks, I was able to look for work unsuccessfully for 2 years, but that has now changed, and I'm applying for jobs that have nothing to do with my programming degree. But I still have a Seattle lease to worry about.
I made this post because I figure I can't be the only one wallowing in how good my last job was and how I can't seem to get another one, no matter how long I search or how many leetcode problems I solve.
Are you folks okay? How are you getting by?

Hi everyone,
Now this is going to be an absolute long shot, but I found a scratch in my car after being parked. My motion sensing dashcam has footage of only one person going past while parked and they had a pram which matches the height of the scratch.
Now I understand I’m probably SOL (shit outta luck) because there’s no footage of them actually hitting it (the camera was only front and back, not the sides) although I do have footage of them driving away.
I was wondering if anyone has experience with this sort of claim? I know it’s a long shot and car park scratches are just part of car ownership, but it absolutely shits me to tears when careless people don’t even leave a note.

After a lot of consideration, I've decided to make a discord group roleplay. The thing is, I'm worried that it'll quickly die within a couple days, or that no one will be interested in it. I'm planning on investing a lot of time and energy into this roleplay, especially because I'm really passionate about it. I've seen similar situations before where a group roleplay dies out before the main event/story even starts, and it's really disheartening to see.
How can I make sure that it won't die out quickly, and ensure that it'll be up and running for a good while? I'm hoping that it can last for more than a year, though I know realistically that only happens to a select few group roleplays.

Me (f17) and this friend (m18) have been friendly for ages but we got super close this year. A month ago we were at our other friends 18th and me this friend and like 3 other people did lsd. My friend had a bad reaction so he went to bed early so he wasn’t present for the upcoming shit. This friend has a dad who is quite the character let’s just say. Old, alcoholic stoner, overly friendly and always hangs out with us whenever we go to that house. He proceeded to do a lot of very creepy things. He kept insinuating I was his girlfriend and that I was gonna sleep with him by the end of the night (I am a lesbian virgin who would NEVER do that) he groped me on the ass while whispering in my ear (all will happen in due time) and he was acting weird to other people but it was mainly me. I was crying so hard. And the acid made it 10x worse. I was very mentally impacted by it. And my friend is aswell cuz he was very upset when he found out. I haven’t heard from him in a month and he hasn’t been answering my texts about it. I miss him so much. I just want to forget about his fuck ass dad and be friends with him.  | I have been taking tretinoin for a few months but this blotch has been on my forehead for a while. The tretinoin is .05 and has helped turn over the skin but the redness is still there. I also use SPF 30 in my moisturizer and SPF 70-100 if I'm outside more. I have a microdermabrasion tool I use a few times per month. Any advice?
