2025.01.26 07:51 Feisty-Confection583 Ignite on jungle talon is not overkill, and i am tired of people saying it is.
1. Starting off. I see people comment on every post that ignite is overkill and flash is superior to it in every way because they "can't assassinate" and "assassins suck". This is entirely wrong and is a projection of their own incapability.
Snowballing on talon is broken, and getting an early lead is the only way to be useful on the champion. You want to be the main character on him, you want to be selfish, play for invades, and always fight for your own benefit, you are supposed to be the wincon in the game--that is how you play talon.
Ignite allows you to get cheeky kills that otherwise wouldn't be possible. You can usually 1v1 any jungler on an invade or scuttle fight and absolutely molest them by stacking conqueror and bursting them with melee q+passive+ignite (which they don't expect). A well executed level 3 gank with ignite always results in a kill or atleast a summoner in bad cases.
Ignite is also superior in securing otherwise very hard kills, where the enemy survives with 1hp from passive proc etc. IMO it is very hard to perform on talon without ignite, as most of your kill pressure and burst comes from it.
2. The "Only go ignite if you're going bruiser" argument While this isn't entirely false advice, it also couldn't be further from the truth.
First off, we look at when you go assassin instead of hybrid or bruiser. Assassin talon is a squishy snowballer that excels in wiping the backline, which usually consists of squishy and ranged characters, you go assassin when the enemy team has a squishy teamcomp, where you can actually do your job as an assasin and wipe adcs/mages while ignoring their tankier champs and leaving your team to deal with them. This is where the "not entirely false" part comes in:
Assassin talon only benefits from flash in cases where target access is not possible, whether that is via CC lockdown (and normally undodgable or hard to dodge spells), or just by enemy having a ranged, squishy comp.
Always picture who you want to fight before the game starts. If you will only fight the squishy adc, sup and mid take flash, if you believe you'll be dueling with melee enemy jungler or midlaner take ignite. If you find yourself in a game where you're talon into an enemy comp that is entirely ranged or prioritizes lockdown, that's where you take flash, otherwise you ALWAYS stick to ignite.
That's also not saying that ignite is bad on hybrid/bruiser, as it's in almost all cases superior to flash.
But isn't that saying that the statement is the truth then? No. As i said before, talon is a snowballer, and with ignite you practically guarantee kills, and kills turn into snowball potential. If you are ahead of the enemy, you one shot any squishy in the game, and get out before they realise what happened. Ignite is the best in securing your snowball and guaranteeing you'll be ahead of the enemy to allow you to be the main character and take over the game--ESPECIALLY as assassin talon.
3. Yes, it is possible to play flash on talon and still perform. You can find plenty of talon players that are set in stone on flash and still perform. Flash is not a bad spell by any means, it is just severally overrated by talon otps that have grown attached to it's playstyle and can't safely secure kills without it--which is who most of the opinions criticized by this post comes from.
Ignite is the most consistent spell in terms of snowballing, and unless flash is extremely needed, it should be your go-to spell every game.

2025.01.26 07:51 Beetlemann I left my friend's bar out the back exit to a dark alley the other night... and immediately thought about Brian Shaffer and how easy it is to vanish from the earth. Read on...
I frequent my friends bar regularly. It's in a nice part of the city. I park out back, in a small, dark and secluded parking lot that is accessed from an alley. The alley runs along the back exit of my friend's bar, and the parking lot is right there. There are trees around the parking lot and a fence: it's pretty much impossible to see into it from the adjacent street.
When I exited the bar out back, nobody was around. Just me. Totally dark. My car was the only one in the parking lot. There are no cameras. I thought of Brian as I walked to my car, and how quickly someone with, say, a gun, or a few people could come up to me and try and abduct me.
In one of my previous posts to this sub, I talked about how I used to be a doorman many years ago and how I walked to my car late at night after a shift... and nobody was around... except a girl ran by me screaming in terror. Turns out, she was murdered shortly after that (within minutes or a few hours). I didn't see the person or people after her, but they were obviously lurking perhaps even around the corner because she was running from them.
So it got me thinking to some scenarios. I've posted before, and one of the strongest theories to me that I've discussed about what happened to Brian is that he could have met with foul play inside the bar. I realize there are issues with that, like a lack of evidence of him entering back into the bar, etc. I won't rehash my reasons for why this is a tenable theory in my view, other than to say that there is a serious lack of evidence of Brian leaving the babeing outside of the bar (e.g., local CCTV footage from other businesses, lack of traffic camera footage, lack of witnesses, etc.).
Anyway, let's say Brian left the bar out the service exit... and let's use my example leaving my friend's bar the other night. First of all, in my case, there are no witnesses. Not in that back alley or parking lot. There's also no cameras. So imagine a few guys jumped out at me, and one had a gun pointing it at me.
The situation here is, people will act differently. Some will go into a panic and do whatever the abductors say. Some may put up a bit of a fight. In my case, I would simply fight it out right there (if they hadn't shot and killed me first or fatally stuck me with a knife by surprise). I would never go along with anyone like that, and if I die there fighting them, so be it. I wouldn't be an easy person to fight, even if there are multiple of you. Even if you have a gun. I'm tall, know how to fight, and would do as much damage to you as possible within a few seconds, including trying to get control of that gun or simply to severely damage you (trachea impaction, eyeball tear, patella impaction, heart punch, etc.).
In my case with putting up a fight, there would be noise. Loud noises. Perhaps even gunshots. There are some apartment buildings around and likely some people would hear it. So now there's some evidence of something going terribly wrong for me. Let's say they kill me after a fight... even if it's whisper quiet... and then load me in my car and drive my car to dump me. I can think of many places in my city where they can do this. Warehouses in industrial areas outside the city are the first that come to mind. Also, driving a bit farther, they can dump me in the ocean. Easy.
Problems though for the abductors: they're driving my car, and that is easily traced by the police across various intersection cameras. Unless they wore ski masks, the cameras could even pick up their faces and get positively ID'd.
In Brian's case, he didn't have a car. Let's say the abductor(s) had a car... that's hard to pinpoint on a busy city night. They could have shuffled Brian in the car... close to the service exit... with Brian willing or not, and then killed him right there and hid his body in the car or killed him somewhere else.
Brian had to have met with the abductor(s) pretty much right after exiting the bar or very close to it... because there is effectively no CCTV footage from surrounding areas showing him... and no witnesses coming forward who would state that they saw him.
What's the motive for killing Brian? Well, what's the motive for killing me? This stuff can be random, and there are evil people out there. In other words, a sadistic type killing.
To me, the evidence points strongly to Brian being killed. For instance, he disappeared that night and no activity on his bank cards, etc. Also, his cell phone reportedly ringing several times days after his disappearance, with a ping detected near Hilliard, Ohio. This fits with a killer or killers who had killed Brian but hadn't disposed of his phone or were in the process of disposing of it.
And because his body has never been found and there is literally no trace of him other than his cell phone pings and that weird obituary post, I think the person or people involved have killed before... my suspicion is that it's potentially a serial killer, one person. That this person took pleasure in doing it... and they messed with people by posting on the obituary site. Even if it wasn't them who posted on the obituary site, a serial killer is one possible explanation. A lone wolf theory. And if it's a serial killer, it may be more likely that Brian was first abducted and then met his demise some minutes or hours later at a secluded location (e.g., warehouse) where the killer could take sadistic pleasure in some murderous act.
Just some ideas to layer onto the huge pile here.

From the past few days, I have noticed many people are disconnected with ground reality.
So I think it's time to make them aware.
As an aware citizen, you should vote whenever election comes. But things don't end with just voting.
You should know who is running in elections from that area. What they have done and what was his manifestos.
As an aware citizen, it's your right to ask for good air, good water and good service.
Don't just crib among yourselves about that. You can download the app regarding your municipality or government and complain through that.
If there isn't app. Then go to their site. If there isn't site, then get their email and complain there. You are just asking what you deserve.
If they don't hear. Keep doing it. File petition and PIL to courts. Why should I do that? I give tax? Unfortunately many people don't. And Govt is mute, we have to shout to be heard.
As an aware citizen, you should know the cabinet ministery of your country and state and departments of your city. Who is doing their job and who isn't.
Make other people aware about that too. Build pressure so other people know the reality too.
As an aware citizen, you should try to contribute towards your environment as much as you can. Even if it's just a little it's okay.
There are many NGOs run in locality. Many municipality also accept volunteers to help them. Inquire about them and join in good cause. Rather than being lazy at home, do that once and you will know fulfillment.
As an aware citizen, you should know about some facts, basic information and culture about your birthplace. The things regarding your local area. It will help you and your local businesses too.
Be an aware citizen and make others aware too.

I've posted a similar question to South of Midnights subreddit but thought I'd have better luck with a clearer answer here. I've been looking at the trailers for South of Midnight and it looks super neat, I'm new to deck and it's my only console that would be able to play the game if it's compatible. The game is available for pre-purchase on the steam store and I'm thinking about getting the premium edition, but I wanted to ask if anyone knew or thinks that South of Midnight will play well on deck first!
I would appreciate any input, I'm super new to anything not Nintendo related and would love to broaden my library!
(Also if anyone has any input on the Silent Hill 2 remakes performance on deck I'd love to hear it bc I really want to play! Ik it's "unsupported" but would appreciate input regardless)

'm from Malaysia and I'm looking to upgrade my skills in finance, accounting, and bookkeeping. However, I'm not planning to become an accountant, just wanting to gain some knowledge in the field for personal growth.
I'm wondering which option would be more worth it:
- IAAP Diploma in Finance, Accounting, and Bookkeeping – Seems like a more basic and practical qualification, but not sure how widely it's recognized.
- ACCA Level 4 Diploma – This seems more advanced and globally recognized, but might be more challenging than the IAAP diploma.

Hi there,
I (22F) have found myself in a pickle.
I've been wearing barefoot shoes for ~3-4 years, and my feet love them, no issues there.
However what I have faced trouble with is running in them. I've tried intermittently, in both barefoot shoes and conventional running shoes (New Balance which I wore in my running glory days)
When I wear barefoot shoes, my joints & achilles are not happy.
When I wear conventional running shoes, my toes are ridiculously cramped and unhappy.
I'm thinking my next move is to find wider conventional running shoes and on the flattethinner side.
Any best brands that this fits?
Before I splurge on anything, I'd like some feedback from the hivemind.
Any pointers in any directions? Thank you
