I’m going to be completely honest and say I don’t even know why I’m writing this here. I’ve never been particularly interested projecting my struggles onto social media, let alone on Reddit of all places. I guess I’m looking for advice? Answers? Empathy? Pity? I honestly have no idea.
I’ve been struggling with executive disfunction for going on 5 years now. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety for about 8 years on top of that. I have a therapist, psychiatrist, a loving family, and some really close online friends. No irl friends though. They left me a long time ago for reasons that are entirely my own fault.
I don’t even know how I got through school now that I think about it. I did literally no work. The only thing that allowed me to pass was my parents literally stepping in and doing all my schoolwork for me after I essentially just became too depressed to bother trying. I guess they couldn’t bare to watch me fail.
Ever since then I have done nothing. Made no progress. Didn’t get a job, didn’t go to college, never learned to drive. Nothing. Just do the same meaningless shit every day. Wake up, take my medication, spend most of the day playing video games or chatting with friends on social media in my room, eat lunch and dinner, take second dosage of medication, and then go to sleep. This has been my life for the last 5 or 6 years. Every single day.
It’s not that I don’t care, I hate the way things are. I’m turning 21 in two months for god’s sake. I want to go out and enjoy what is supposed to be the prime of my life, go to college, learn to drive, make new friends, find a partner, etc.
But I just can’t do anything, I keep saying I’ll do something and then I’ll just never do it. It’s almost like an autopilot at this point, like I don’t even think about why I don’t do it. I just fucking don’t. I don’t understand. I’ve been gaining weight from a mixture of lack of exercise and comfort eating and my hygiene is slipping more and more.
I feel like a decayed husk of human, just sitting there and rotting away slowly. Everyone tells me how smart I am, how attractive I supposedly am, how I have a good sense of humor. Yet it doesn’t even matter because I can’t bring myself to make use of these traits. I feel so pathetic. A complete disappointment and a waste of time.
I don’t know if anyone is actually going to read this. Frankly I don’t even care. I just want something to happen, something that finally makes my life worth living.
I just want to fucking live again.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I could not find anything online that could describe why I can smell my blood from half a foot away (which i have never been able to do before) it's a very small cut on my hand I did with my fingernail and It smells like I lit an iron scented candle. I'm sure I just ate something extra rich in iron I didn't know or something but it's still bothering me how pungent it smells
If this is just as stupid as I thought feel free to tell a mod to delete it

I've been using Apple Music for a while, but I noticed something was off about 3-4 weeks ago when every time I search up a song it either doesn't pop up or it shows only the clean version. I also noticed it won't show albums at all if there isn't a clean version even if you go to the music creator's profile. I don't have parental controls, and my music is set to the "Explicit" setting. I don't know what to do since everything else says it's parental controls. What should I do?

2025.01.25 00:59 KnifeCarryFan Shot my 9mm USP Expert for the First Time and I'm Really Torn...
I'm not torn on the gun itself--after the first 50 rounds, I was shooting this gun more accurately than I have ever shot any other 9mm firearm. Holy shit this is a great shooting gun and every aspect of this design works so well it's got me asking myself why I waited to long to buy an Expert. But that's actually why I am torn.
I purchased the Dawson Precision front fiber optic sight, and I can see why people like it as I bet it makes the gun an even better tack driver. But, for my first outing, I painted the factory front sight with fluorescent orange paint just to try it out. And...it actually works pretty darned well. And for defensive use, it works great. It's easy to acquire the sight picture, and easy to recover, follow through, and fire again. And again. Fast. And accurate. It feels good.
For home defense, the general consensus is to use what you shoot best. Well, I definitely shoot this Expert best--better than my full-sized USP even. Like, I think I need to get another rail adapter + put a light on this thing and keep it in my bedroom fast-access safe, as if shit hits the fan, this Expert is going to give me the best odds of success.
But the Dawson Precision sight seems to be optimal for target use and not quite as optimal for self-defense--it would potentially be more fun at the range but make the gun less optimal for defensive use? Where do I go from here? Should I install the Dawson sight--for those with it, how does it work for defensive use? Do I roll with the painted fluorescent sight I have? Should I look into getting the factory front sight drilled and having a custom tritium tube added? Or maybe buy a second Expert and put the Dawson Precision sight on that one? (And how would I explain that to my wife?)
Like I said, I'm torn.
