2025.01.27 17:17 Theupkeepisfine For those who started MOC with newborn, what was most important that you stuck to initially?
FTM, baby turns 3 weeks tomorrow. A friend sent me the MOC book and said it worked great for her kids. My LO is sleeping “well” in the bassinet at night (1.5-2hour stretches in crib side bassinet with the fold down side), so I was curious about a more structured daytime. Already out the gate I’m questioning things as my daughter almost exclusively eats and then falls asleep. She is starting to have a couple of longer (20-30 min) wake windows during the day, but usually after a nap, not after a feed.
I’m wondering if I should aim to stick to the nap time schedule and only let her nap for 2ish hours then wake to feed and see if I can get her to stay up? And then maybe rock to sleep? Or just short feed to sleep. And also try to do one bassinet nap per day.
Just curious what you all really stuck to when trying this schedule out.

I am generally hawkish about privacy, but I think this is a good thing. I don’t believe there’s a good argument for the expectation of privacy from law enforcement while operating a registered vehicle on a public road. Unless you’re driving a stolen car, or are associated with a crime under ongoing investigation, you should have no reason to be concerned about this IMO.

I know that in their own way everybody has their battles and things like that but for the last six months or so I’ve been unemployed after quitting my second social work job since I graduated college about two years ago. I used to do emergency crisis mental health response as well as SASS counseling for follow up services for anybody 21 and under with Medicaid before transitioning to be a foster care case manager working alongside child protective services. After working at the foster care agency that I was with for some time I began to experience extreme anxiety and PTSD symptoms regarding the high stress environment and made the decision with my mother that due to me still living at home and not having significant bills to quit for my mental well being and try to find a different lower stakes position without a high caseload or a high need situations but since then I’m struggling to find work and feel like I’ve had significant struggles getting matched to a medication that works for me, I’ve started both counseling and psychiatry and working on building routines but I still can’t find a job not even retail/food service work I’m having daily panic attacks about not having an income instead of regarding work stress like before and I feel like none of my friends and family are understanding of just how mentally unwell I was. On the phone with my dad last he even made a snippy comment about my needing to get my shit together so I addressed it and said that I’m trying but that I didn’t chose to let my mental health issues get so bad and that I’m navigating a lot of trauma and he kind of laughed at the thought and made some comments about how he doesn’t like to work either when I feel like it’s not that simple. I’m 23 and I know I have a lot of resources but I feel at a stalemate treatment wise right now as I’m not getting signs of improvement and I feel like I’m such a fuck up for not being able to get or keep a job right now but I’m having a really hard time. If you have any ideas on where I can try to go from here please let me know

2025.01.27 17:17 DeadSilent7 What do you get out of filming/posting content?
TLDR at the bottom
I bought an insta360 go3, and this weekend I shot two matches and filmed both PoV, as well as some bonus footage. I made two very different videos, sort of just playing with formats. Both posted to instagram.
Video 1: 2.5 minutes, full stage runs from myself and a couple friends, including two in 3rd person. A few candid interactions and random moments through. Match results shown at the end.
Video 2: under 1 minute, just shooting highlights aside from an intro commentary and a few seconds of random clips. Basically action start to finish, no dead time, each clip only being a few seconds. No other shooters featured.
Obviously, the metrics on the second video are quite a bit better (neither are good, I’m just a random scrub). It got me thinking about what my why is for filming/posting. I’m sure there can be some value in reviewing match videos to find things to work on, but I usually know what I did wrong based on the target anyway. That isn’t why I bought the camera, but I’m not sure I know exactly what the reason was. Shooting videos are boring, and I have no aspirations of sponsorship. I do hope my content could get others interested in coming to a match, even if it’s just once.
TLDR: I’m still trying to find my why, which I think will determine what/how I post, so give me yours. What did you want to get out of it? Do you? How do you format content? Did you make a separate account? Did it change the way you approach shooting?
