I've been looking for a group to join for a house next year, but all the flat mates will be older. One of the guys has already graduated. The house is pretty cheap and is in a great location, but I don't know any of them at all. The guy I messaged seems desperate to secure this house and so wants me to give a decision quickly.
Should I go join this group or look somewhere else?

Your muted eyes looking up at me, the flashing white of fear
as I heard his pathetic objections.
And now I’m fading out.
Then it's me, stumbling into Emergency with my face stain-crusted splattered with
blood and a nurse seeing me and laughing, thinking it was all a Halloween prank
until realising that it wasn’t.
And it's me, just so fucked up, and you so close by as the cops circle us
and I collapse into a pile of dust.

2025.01.27 17:18 Cursed_key identifying sticks and Disinfecting larger sticks and items
I have some sticks I would like to disinfect, I had a Rescue come in with an RI, luckily she's doing real fine now. However she had some cork bark and sticks id like to reuse, cause even though they grow on trees, where I live its expensive to get more. For smaller pieces I obviously can stick em in the oven and let em bake through. However I have a small oven and some larger sticks. I've heard you can flush em with bleach but that pulls the color and I'm not really comfortable with bleaching the sticks I'm gonna stick in a tank, just personal preference. I use chlorhexidine spray on the surface for all pieces I use, but for a deep wood treatment I've been thinking of making a little rig to boil a 55 gallon drum. If that's not a terrible idea ill probably get the ball rolling on that
Another issue with where I live is a lot of trees are softwood evergreens. most of the sticks in my collection don't look like hardwood but I cant confirm as they were dead when I grabbed em. They look nothing like the pine trees around where I live, and they don't have any signs of sap, but I wanted to know where if theirs a sure fire way to ensure the safety of the wood. Cause I've tried using my nail, but I infamously have sharp nails and I can leave a dent on every piece of wood I own.
Any advice would be appreciated. I have been wanting to build more cages and get more rescue tanks up, but sticks and environment is crucial to me and this is my last roadblock before I start building my own tanks.

My 14 month old recent switched to one nap, goes to bed at 7:30 wakes at 6-6:30 and naps from 12-2. She does have a molar coming in right now but I am not sure that is all that is going on. She has woken up screaming the last 5 nights in a row at 12:30 and comes into bed with me and tosses and turns and can't sleep for 1-2 hours. Last night I gave her Tylenol before bed to see if it was from tooth pain but it didn't help. Any ideas what's going on?
She is sleep trained, and we have all sleep hygiene things in effect.

So it’s been over a week since I last saw my ex, and they are quick to cut ties and get rid of things. They are definitely trying to move on. I feel stuck. I want to move on because they said they didn’t love me anymore, but I also desperately want them to reach out to me. We haven’t been in contact but I am feeling a strong urge to ask how they are doing. We have broken up in the past and at that point we did check in on each other because we do care for each other’s well being. This time seems much more final but I’m having difficulty coming to terms with it. I’ve heard that no contact is what you should do to heal AND to get them to miss you/reach out, but I just want to know if they are hurting too or how they’re feeling. It’s probably too soon but…maybe later this week? I don’t know. I wish they would reach out to me. Thoughts?

Hi!
Trying to figure out the best solution here - I need to invoice a US-based client in USD. Initially I was going to use Paypal, and it's a workable solution, but their conversion rates are brutal (currently showing 1.38 vs. 1.44 on XE.com). I then looked at Wise, which on paper looked great, but after signing up for their business account, I found out that invoices in USD cannot be paid via credit card - it only works if the payer has a Wise account of their own. Unfortunately this won't work for my client.
Does anyone have any ideas for an alternative? Am I being unrealistic in hoping for better fees/rates than this? Any input would be much appreciated!
