so in act 1 there's the cultist dungeon, the depraved sanctuary. you get a key from a drop which gives you a quest, you go inside, quest complete.
BUT, there's an NPC who gives you a key that from his description i BELIEVE leads to the same place, but it doesn't disappear from your inventory since you already opened the door. Is this second key to a different place, or is it a secondary way in, and can i throw it out?

(TW: vivid descriptions, gore, mentions of suicide, mentions of vomit, ARFID aka Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, questionable plot points, and unfinished.)
(This isn’t a representation of my mental state, just me writing for fun :D)
Day one.
{Reader} just died. After waking up from a ‘nightmare’, {Reader} sits up. On edge and in a cold sweat, {Reader} looks around, their eyes adjusting to the low light level. The room is a pale blue, decorated with trinkets and flowers. Specifically, wildflowers and lily of the valley. There’s cracks in the drywall, some holes in the corners of the floor, and flowers spilling out of them like a waterfall. {Reader} is tired and just wants sleep, but now it’s gonna take some time to get sleepy again. Might as well waste it while we can. Wildflowers are growing around and tangling in the bedframe and ivy is crawling on the walls. Not the poisonous kind, of course.
We wouldn’t want to have irritated skin from simply being there, right? I mean, you, of course. I’m not here. I’m just your inner dialogue. The guiding light, per se.
Just as {Reader} gets up and checks out their desk and MacBook laptop, they hear a voice. It’s Mother. She’s here. {Reader} swore she died in a car crash 7 years ago. She died in their arms for god’s sake! But now that {Reader} thinks about it, they don’t remember anything like a car accident or her dying. Not even her face.
Mother: “{Reader}, come here! I made breakfast!” She says clearly.
Mother is nicer than {Reader} remembers. But who cares? Savor the moment! It could be a dream- Ignore that, just savor the moment. Life is short- but not short enough- Stop it, will you? clears throat {Reader} goes downstairs, eager to see Mother again.
{Reader}: “Mother! I had this nightmare last night and-” {Reader} is interrupted by Mother
Mother: “Just sit down and eat. Calm down. It’s 2:54 am.”
Why would Mother be up at this time? She’s surely not going to work. She’s definitely not going to sleep. This feels... off. The kitchen is clean, hell, the counter is sparkling clean! Except for some human fingernails on the floor. They’re certainly not Mother’s, she painted her nails dark red! The fingernails are a pale white with a bit of blood pooled beside them and flesh attached. I don’t like this- The fingernails have plier marks. It’s as if pliers were used to rip them off. The blood below some of them is older than others. They were ripped off one by one.
{Reader} looks back at Mother, realizing her face is just blurred out. This... this isn’t normal. When {Reader} watches Mother eat, the food doesn’t even get chewed. It warps and becomes a part of her blurred face. They want to run, but they can’t. They don’t want to leave home. It’s where they feel safe. Don’t fear Mother. Nevermind. {Reader} just walks back to their room, planning on trying to make sense of, well, this situation. The human fingernails, the blood, the cracked walls and floors, Mother’s behavior, the way she eats. It’s all so… weird.
When {Reader} enters their room, they notice something they didn’t see before. There’s flowers under the bed. Flower petals. Red and white. Of course, {Reader} isn’t strong enough to move the bed. They’re just barely 13. {Reader} sits at their desk and opens their laptop. The laptop flickers on and opens Reddit.com. Specifically, the horrorstories subreddit. {Reader} scrolled through the subreddit, unnerved.
Day two
{Reader} wakes up after that exact same nightmare occurs again. It’s Friday. They hear Mother’s voice.
Mother: “{Reader}! Breakfast’s ready! French toast Friday!” She chirps cheerfully, already up. This time it’s morning — 9:57 am to be exact.
“God, I woke up so late today.” {Reader} thinks as they get out of bed and open the closet.
On the hangers, there’s bright and colorful clothes, like a shirt with rainbow stripes on it or bright yellow overalls. The only relatively normal item of clothing is a T-shirt. A black T-shirt with gray stars on it. {Reader} picks that piece of clothing and puts it on. Looking through the pants, there’s only light blue jeans and tan cargo pants. A relatively unisex outfit. {Reader} puts on the tan cargo pants. {Reader} looks at their hands. Their fingernails are painted rainbow like a hydrodip.
When {Reader} exits their room, they’re greeted with the sight of Mother getting rid of a ‘friend’. She’s kneeling over the body, her hands covered in blood and a plier in her hands. The same plier used to take off those fingernails that {Reader} found yesterday.
When Mother hastily turns to {Reader}, she sees a horrified look. {Reader} only sees a blurred face with one huge eye on it. No blood on her mouth, but chunks were taken out of the ‘friend’. It’s as if she was experimenting on how to ‘excuse’ her ‘friend’ from her home. Not very nicely, as you can see.
{Reader} runs back to their room fearfully and barricades the door with their chair, just barely able to move it in time before Mother tries to get in.
Mother: Trying to explain “{Reader}, why are you so scared of me? Your Mother. You shouldn’t fear me-” {Reader} interrupts.{Reader}: Scared and traumatized, wanting answers “Yet I am! You-you were eating that person! Why should I not fear you!? Tell me!” They ask loudly, out of pure fear. Mother isn’t who she seems to be...
Mother: Pleading, trying to reason with {Reader} “Sweetie, you can’t blame me if I want to try something new. It was... New. I like new. Just come out and we can talk.” She states as if it was common knowledge to eat people.
{Reader}: Terror. Scared for their life. “I can blame you if you wanted to try ‘new’, or whatever your crazy ass calls it! Please!... Just go away. I need time and space.”
Mother walks away, knowing what to do for this, this situation. It’s as if she’d done it before.
Day three
{Reader} couldn’t sleep that night. That was more traumatizing than their death. Hell, {Reader} had even formed a plan to escape this hellhole. Try to die. Well, if they can die to get in, they could die to get out. It’s reasonable, right?... Right?
Anyways, {Reader} told Mother they’d go to the market for some food. In reality, they were going to buy a gun. “The quicker, the better.” They thought. A slipknot would be too slow and Mother could save them before they die. A knife would confuse the other patrons/shoppers.
{Reader} hears Mother call them downstairs.
Mother: Acting as if nothing happened “Sweetie, breakfast’s ready! Eggs and fɫŋɢɘɼʼnæíłʂ!”
Wait, wait, wait, did Mother just say what I thought she said? Eggs and... fingernails? This is sick and twisted. I’m just the narrator. {Reader} pales at the thought of what Mother just said. Eggs and fingernails? Where did she get the fingernails? oh
{Reader}: Nervous and terrified “Mother, I’m just gonna buy some food from the market, okay?”
Mother: “No you aren’t, sweetie. Let’s eat first!”
{Reader} goes downstairs hastily, wanting to leave ASAP. While their hands are on the handrails, they get a peek at their fingers. Some fingernails are... missing. Is that where Mother got the fingernails from? oh.
{Reader} sits down at the table, starting to feel dazed after going down the stairs. Everything’s spinning and moving. They’re gonna barf or pass out any moment. They look down at the plate, and there it is. Rainbow fingernails.
{Reader}: Slurred and slow “Mother, I feel sick. My head doesn’t feel good and I need some rest.”
Mother: Reassuring facade “Oh, just eat up. You’ll feel better once you finish eating. It’s just your empty stomach.”
{Reader} looks down at the eggs and fingernails. They lose their appetite. {Reader}: Nauseated from simply the scent and feel of the food “Mother, I can’t eat. I’ve lost my appetite.”
Mother: Starting to get tired of {Reader} ‘complaining’ “Just eat.”
{Reader} realizes she isn’t trying to make them eat. It’s a punishment for seeing what they witnessed yesterday. To get {Reader} to knock or speak before coming down. Her facade is peeling off day by day.

Hi everyone! I'm somewhat new to jerky-making, but I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to pre/post-cook jerky so it's 100% safe to consume. I've read many of the guides online, and almost all of them say to throw your jerky into an oven for 10 minutes, or until they reach 165f for poultry, or 145f for beef. Here's my issue:
- I've been heating an oven to 300f, but neither the turkey nor beef I put in (1/8-1/4" slices) cook unless they're in the oven for 30 minutes or more (this is especially true for the turkey). I've been using an instant-read thermometer to verify this. The same thing applies for my jerky-gun based jerky. It all just takes FOREVER to get to the proper temperature.
- Leaving them in the oven too long renders them quite a bit tougher than I'd like, and I would imagine cooking them to temp faster would help with this problem.

The Loot?
We are using a DKP system for Arch Boss weapons ONLY, unless a BiS item has been challenged by a guild member into the DKP system.
DKP is tracked through TLGM, DKP is ONLY acquired through "GUILD ACTIVITY EVENTS during prime time 5pm-12am" NOT TOTAL ACTIVITY OR GUILD CONTROBUTION.
The rest is through your class BiS roll(if you attended that WB or Guild raids)
What does this mean?
Arch Boss weapons are highly valuable, we want to give everyone in the guild that doesnt work from home or have a limited time to acquire an AB weapon. This evens the playing field for everyone in the guild if you attend guild events during prime time.
So if you're an individual that only has a limited time to play but attend all guild events during prime time; then this gives you the same chance in getting an AB as someone that plays 24/7 granted it is in your BiS.

Does my hair needs protein or moisture?
My hair is super dry since an olaplex salon treatment one month ago. I also suffer from hair breakage. Since then I used multiple hair masks and hydrating conditioners, but those didn’t do anything besides making my hair softer.
I really don’t know what to do anymore. Thank you for your advice!

Hi all,
I have another user account on my switch for replaying games with only one save that isn't connected to any online accounts. I managed to catch a shiny geodude which I want to trade to my main user, but when I try to connect online it wants me to create a Nintendo account, and when I try to login to mine it says it will set this as the primary.
I've heard if I make a new account it'll restrict me from the game, so is there any way that I can get this shiny off my alternative user on to my main one?

2025.01.27 17:15 thedaniel1998 New e-mail policy kills Bitwarden purpose, and should be optional.
The main reason I started to use Bitwarden 4 years ago was to secure, randomize and easy have access to my passwords. The only password I know is the hard master one, that's not written in anyplace besides my brain.
Bitwarden purpose is if somehow I get lost in the middle of an unknown country, if I get to have internet access, I could get any credential I need to survive. Now I'm being forced to have 2-factor tools, in order to overprotect what is already very well protected with a big and reliable master password.
Now if I don't setup any 2-factor like google or Microsoft authenticator, it will use the traditional email code authentication. The problem is that my e-mails also already have 2 factor authenticator WITH ACCESS KEYS ON BITWARDEN!!!! IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE!
These recent updates are killing this app, and it's time to study migration for another one.

I’ve recently taken a volunteer position as my old high schools technical coordinator. I have a fair bit of experience with simple DMX and sound design from my part time DJ gig.
It’s been an absolute pleasure, but the theatre is a complete disaster. There is not one person in or around the school who understands how to operate the lights on the old express 96 board. I’m not joking when I say I got applause after I figured out how to do a simple 1-1 patch.
I’ve become fascinated with this system but I don’t understand it very well. There are no surviving manuals and I’ve only been able to find a board tutorial on ETC’s YouTube channel.
Does anyone have any resources for training on the whole system? From dimmers- dimmer rack- etc Ethernet- board.
I appreciate any feedback.
The goal is to eventually learn how to reconfigure the presets for band/choi assembly so that staff just have to press a button.
