I'll be pretty straight forward I'm pretty new to the game. I played way back when clans was still a thing and played a lot of oracle think tank. I was wondering if there any cool deck that is pretty good for around 100$. I do prefer if the deck has a more female based character. I (16M) had no friends in the 10th grade and now I have none in the 11th. I only am cordial with 2 people I sit next to during class. The only reason I can come up with is me having some form of social anxiety. I am told that I’m attractive and dress nicely almost constantly and hear it while walking in the hallway daily, but only a couple people have actually tried to talk to me. I listen to music a lot so maybe I just didn’t hear people trying to talk to me at the beginning and now maybe they think I’m mean? I got used to having no friends at the end of 9th grade but now it’s starting to make me feel like an outcast. For some reason can’t keep friendships and it feels taxing to talk to the people that try to become my friend. I also feel like I can’t talk to people or try to become their friend and I don’t know why. I was heavily bullied in elementary school and middle school for being gay but I had a lot of friends throughout that period, maybe that has something to do with it? Do you think I should see a therapist? Do you have any tips or just insight? Thanks for reading this far if you did.

I hate to rant, but this is frustrating and I need to get it off my chest.
When I got into architecture, I was warned that the pay wasn’t great. I didn’t really believe it because the average salary is around $90K in the U.S., with earnings capping out around $150K unless you become a partner or owner, where you can make $200K–$300K. What I didn’t realize is that you probably won’t break $100K until you’ve been working for at least 10 years—or you live in a HCOL area.
Starting salaries in most U.S. cities are around $50K, even with a Master’s degree. That realization has hit me hard. 50k in 2023 is also a lot different than it was in 2018 when I started. The pay will be even worse if we leave a HCOL area.
I did my undergrad in the only architecture program in my state, but it was unaccredited. I loved it, though, and worked full-time at a firm my last two years, making $25/hour, which helped me graduate undergrad nearly debt-free. Everyone at the firm told me I had to get a Master’s for licensure and that I should go to a better school. The only accredited M.Arch program in my state was already at risk of losing accreditation and wasn’t great, so I applied to six well-known schools, got into all but one of them, and chose the best one that also gave me an in-state tuition waiver.
My wife and I both work part-time while being full-time students. When I graduate this year, we’ll have around $66K–$70K in student loans—not terrible considering we live in a very HCOL city, and we only took out $26K in loans to live on (the rest was tuition). But this is still a massive amount of money for an average paying career considering federal student loans have an 8% interest rate right now. During grad school, I interned at a well-known global firm making $30/hour and really enjoyed it.
Now, as I approach graduation, reality is setting in. I’ve worked so hard, but I’ll probably only make $50K–$60K for the next few years while my wife finishes school. I have no idea how I’m going to support us and pay off our loans. Luckily, she’ll probably make $80K her first year out—with less school than me.
Then I come on here and see people with 10+ years of experience still making under $100K. Meanwhile, my friend with a four-year construction management degree makes $100K just two years out of school. His company gives him a $600/month car allowance and pays half his rent.
The worst part? I love architecture. I love the profession, and I even love the aspects of practice I’ve experienced—drawing details, coordinating with consultants, managing drawing sets, going on-site. But it feels like the profession hates me back. I regret going to grad school and taking on debt.
I feel lost. I have the passion, but am I an idiot for accepting $50K for 50+ hours of work per week? That barely covers rent and loans. I’m slipping into depression.
Please—tell me there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Is this career ever financially sustainable? Does it ever get fulfilling? Will the pay get better, or do I really have to wait 20 years?
My sister started in marketing at $55K, now she only works 30 hours a week hybrid, and makes $150K after five years. I feel irresponsible for choosing architecture. I didn’t fully understand the financial risk of becoming one.
I just don’t know what to do anymore. I also acknowledge that this pain and debt is 100% my fault and was my decision for chasing passion over reality. I hope this post reaches some young folks and knocks some sense into them before they end up doing something stupid like me.

At 47:17 when the guy is talking to Sam Cahill, who directed a lot of MGK videos & some ModSun videos, you see Mod on the side of the frame, then he talks to him and shortly after MGK talks about how that's his brother &how they're in sobriety together. I know MGK doesn't talk about Mod as much as he talks about him so it's nice seeing him at MGK Day in this &how he talks about him. I do not know if this is the right platform but I wanted to seek some advice. There is a person I know who is spiralling fast. She has been drinking heavily every day and is showing signs of serious mental health problems. She always was very loud and aggressive but these days it is getting worse. Her behaviour is getting risky for everyone around her. She drinks excessively and drives recklessly. Her partner left her stating that it is too unsafe to be with her. She initially chased out her sister and other housemates she was sharing a house with from her house and they have been no contact for half a year now. But since she has no one by her side now, she is harassing her sister. She calls her sister late into the night and follows her everywhere. Her sister thought that it would be better for her to move in with her again to take care of her but every single time she picks a fight and asks her to get her of her house. The sister again has to pack her bags and come back. But she won’t leave her alone. She has now started following her to work and has threatened to come to the sister’s current residence and argue with her current house mates if she tries to cut off contact with her. Her sister lives in constant fear now and is trying to go far away as soon as possible. She refuses help, refuses to go to work and is just driving here and there harassing people. Every night she calls her mother to harass her and threatens to take drastic measures. I honestly feel bad for her but her behaviour is not only being dangerous to herself but to everyone around her. She refuses to acknowledge she has a problem. She thinks Everyone is the enemy and she is the victim. What can be done for someone who has gone too far to listen or understand?

In a comment I saw someone argue that proof of zero calorie sweeteners not spiking blood sugar is that if it did, there'd be dead diabetics all around.
The thing with diabetes is you DON'T produce insulin, so their body could give fuck all if you consume something sweet but zero sugar. No insulin is released anyway. The problem I (with very brief knowledge okay, just the girlfriend of a T1D) could imagine, would be with NON-diabetics, getting an insulin response from the artificial sweeteners with no excess sugar to be absorbed from the blood stream. There I could see how it would interfere with fat burning and therefore be unsuitable for fasting due to autophagy purposes.
However — wouldn't this insulin response then also result in hypoglycemia in a non-diabetic? If not so, why? This has been on my mind for quite some time. What are your thoughts?

Hello everyone, I was wondering after long readings on the ideal leverage why the x2.5 leverage is so little mentioned? Particularly in the backtests including the periods 2000 and 2008. We know thanks to numerous studies that the ideal very long-term effect on the US market is x2. But what about 2.5x leverage on the Nasdaq 100? Example for a European: 50% TQQQ / 50% LQQ (equivalent to a QQQx2)
With an initial investment then a constant monthly DCA and annual readjustment.
Has anyone backtested this allocation?
