I have been a service assistant at this job for about 9 months now. I actually have about 3 total years of serving experience, but agreed to take on this position at this restaurant because I really needed a job. (It’s been hard to get a serving job elsewhere)…
Here, I’ve been told that hands-on performance is the key factor in consideration to move candidiates up, rather than ACTUAL serving experience… which is why several server assistants with (probably) no server experience have already been promoted before me.
The service assistant dutes are bussing/resetting tables, running waters, running food , washing bar glasses, prebussing, etc. Due to feedback from managers in the past several months, I haven’t been the most reliable compared to others with these duties, which is why others have been promoted before me… which I can understand a little, but I don’t think that my speediness in getting busser duties done should be a reflection of my ability to serve, ya know?
I’ve been working hard to improve my standing. I’ve been picking up a lot of extra shifts (even dishwashing), working faster and increasing my overall reliability as a team member.
I’m 26 years old, and I feel embarassed knowing that the others are in their younger 20’s getting their shit on lock.

2025.01.30 08:01 Dangerous_Sweet_4871 SIBO finally cured yet still symptomatic?
Hi everyone!! I’ve had hydrogen dominant SIBO for 3-4 years now. I’m finally cured after 2 weeks of Xifaxan and NAC. I could cry! I haven’t had a normal test since the first time I got it and was cured. It took years and multiple doctors but I made it 😭
Problem is I’m still having acid reflex, burping, abdominal pain, and bloating.
Now the first time I had SIBO I was sick for 10 months and was given meds and cured at month 7. Even after I was SIBO free I was still symptomatic just like I am right now!! 3 months later I woke up one day and I was free of all those symptoms and I finally had my life back. Then 4 months later I got SIBO again and I’ve been sick for three years since.
Is it possible my body is just so wrecked from being sick for so long that it needs time to heal and eventually I will feel normal again like the first time I had SIBO? Mind you I’ve tried different types of treatment and around six rounds of antibiotics over the past few years since it came back.
I hope I’m making sense. I just want to feel better again 😭😭

Hi guys. I live in Siberia not far from Baikal. Some time ago my friend visited Mongolia and was pretty happy about it. I don't know if I have a chance to do it, but I started learning Mongolian cuz why not? Also maybe I would have a chance to understand and communicate with some Buryats who live here. So I'd like to ask you some questions.
- What is general attitude to tourist from Russia, particularly, Siberia. (700 km between us I think)
- If a person has a level A1 Mongolian, is it OK? I mean I know that some know Russian, and some English, but is it good if I learn some Mongolian?
- What resources can you recommend to learn it? I already downloaded some books but there are so mush controversial information that I feel bewildered.
- What would you recommend to do and to visit in a potential 4-days summer trip in UlaanBaatar?

2025.01.30 08:01 Fun_Nature_959 Replaced Series 2 Joystick after the last one broke. Crazy stick drift, how can I fix it?
It was a task to get the old joystick off and this new joystick soldered on. Problem is, there’s a massive amount of stick drift, so much so that the internal Xbox calibration app can’t even get through a single rotation. Both the X and Y axis work so how do I go about aligning it to zero?
