2025.01.30 19:11 LRS_David Duplicate Image Finding Tool
Got a client with around 8000 images from various projects going back 20+ years. In a mess of folders. And the organization of them is somewhat lacking due to no one being in charge for 99% of that time. And at times (more often than you'd think) someone would want to mess around and just duplicate a folder than modify one file out of 20 in the new folder to not break a link someone else might have.
Arrrrrrg.
Is there a tool I can point at this folder and it search for all files of a certain type and do a binary test to see which are dups. Maybe after doing a file name match. Then give the option to delete all but one of them?
They are totally over breaking any links to get this done. These are mainly used for proposals and the people involved in this now are way more coherent and in sync in their process.
I've use dupguru at times for similar things but it is more based on comparing 2 folders. (Unless I'm missing something.) I have just one folder. The folder duplicating I mentioned might be 3 or 4 levels deep in any one project.
This is a one off process lasting maybe a week or few.

This has probably already been discussed, but I think it would be interesting if they modified the U-turn as follows: - All teams pictures are on a board - As teams arrive at the U-turn, a staff member removes their pictures from the board to pick from - you can only U-turn teams on the board the staff member is managing
I know this gives more information to teams about where they are in the pack, but I think the dynamics would be more interesting than the current strategy teams have of burning the 2nd U-turn by picking a team they know has already passed the board. Thoughts?

I've been trying for almost a month now. Last night I was in in front of my old home's front door and knew that I was dreaming. After that I looked at my hand, turned around and everything went black and I woke up. Tried getting back in but failed.
Also, I had no control over it.
Any tips on what's next? How do I avoid waking up? I tried staying calm but it didn't work.

I use very narrow eartips from Samsung Buds so the sound is not the same as with regular ones. With stock eartips it sounds like $1 headphones. (Lack of bass due to lack of sealing, very nasty high frequencies) I'm a basshead so I would like the same amount of bass, softer highs as they hurt my ears and most importantly more detail and a wider soundstage. I would like wow effect in terms of details and soundstage with the same sound or less high frequencies, is there such a thing for $60? And is there a better analogue of Samsung Buds eartips at an affordable price?

I have a male coworker from Taiwan who was sponsored by our company and is on an H1B visa. I want to emphasize that I'm a south Asian immigrant myself. He joined almost 1.5 years after I did. His English is not good. Unless you grew up around other non native English speakers, you cannot understand what he's saying or asking for and he makes a ton of grammar mistakes in his emails and deliverables. I helped him out a lot when he first joined because I know a lot of people were giving him a hard time because of his accent, but then he started acting hyper competitive so I only talk to him when necessary.
I know because of the language barrier I may be misinterpreting things. But he keeps thanking me for projects that our boss assigned me. For example, our boss gave me a major project to build out a calculator for something. I built this product out on my own, and my boss gave it to this coworker to use for an assignment. My coworker said word for word "thank you so much for building this calculator for us, I know this is A LOT of works!" And I wanted to be like mf I didn't build it for YOU😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 then he gives me directions and tells me what to do as if he's my manager. I don't know what I'm hoping to accomplish with this post, just irritated by people I have to train who act like they're my boss. There's been multiple instances of this where he's talking to me like I'm his direct report instead of his peer, even though I've worked in the industry much longer. I know most of this stems from insecurity and competition due to his visa status but it's extremely irritating to deal with.
