I understand that some retirees have their money in a dividend fund without mentioning the ticker symbol. But I see so many you ppl as well in it getting paid every 3 months stating that they just got paid or it’s less volatile bcs of no tech stocks or AI etc. but what about paying the taxes on it? It’ll take away from the profits. Is it really worth it to be in it? Is it really a diversification strategy?

2025.01.30 07:59 TheVlach Car towed from private parking haus of apartment complex I live in
 | Hi all, I moved into at the start of november and as my gf visits me often from germany, the previous tenant explained that there is an underground parking of the apartment building where visitors can park. He said in his 5 years living here he's never had any real issues. My neighbors also told me they had parents stay as long as a week (and apart from mysterious notes from one woman complaining about them using the charging station in the parking house without paying) they said they've had no issues with visitors parking there). When they put an announcement in the entry to the apartment building saying that they don't believe this person has a right to do this and they will call the police, the notes stopped (I'm just adding this point so you have an image of the people living here). My gf was visiting from Germany, she arrived on Saturday night. On Wednesday morning when she was getting ready to leave, we saw her car gone and a note from the person who apparently said that is his private parking spot saying that he towed the car away. The last time there was a note on her car stating that it was a private parking space (there are multiple parking spaces with no signage nothing and he didnt provide his name or number) You can see in the picture, apart from 3-4 spots, all of them have signs, the one we parked in had none). We called and he told us he tried getting in contact (apparently knocked at my door at 7 in the morning) and when there was no answer, he said he had no choice but to call a tow. I would just also clarify, on top of the fact that this seems to be far to excessive calling a towed truck after one attempt to get into contact in the early morning, there were other parking spots available (which also didn't have any signs) and for the past 3 months that I've lived here they were always empty. Long story short we then had to go to pay for the car to be released from the notorious Abschleppdienst Zürich GmbH. (600 francs for the car being towed away from the apartment complex where I live :))).... I've added pics too of the signage around the parking and my gf who speaks German also said that the signage implies that there is no issue for visitors to stay short term (this length of time not actually being specified) What is your guys opinion, should I take other actions? Do you prefer money for you to spend whatever you like, or combinations of gifts/trips in additions.
To me, as SD, I prefer to give allowance as well as spend time shopping together and/or going to trips. However, I met a pot that just want allowance or ppm and not spend time outside of that. To me that feels like escorting. In my mind sugar relationship is more like gf situation but I might be in the minority here. Just like to hear more.

Estou morando com meu namorado há aproximadamente 7 meses, no começo transavamos praticamente todo dia, mas, com o tempo e com a rotina foi começando a ser mais difícil ter o tempo e a disposição para fazer isso todo dia e apesar de não ser mais a mesma frequencia, transamos pelo menos 3 vezes na semana e as vezes mais de 2 vezes no dia, porémz ele diz que nao é o suficiente e sempre que ficamos 2/3 dias sem fazer algo, ele briga comigo e diz que tá "criando teia", e isso começou a ser muito frequente, qualquer briga, por qualquer motivo que seja ele traz isso a tona como se fosse um motivo pra tudo, já conversei com ele e já falei que não acho que tenha sentido porque nem sempre as pessoas estão afim de fazer as coisas e que se for ver acredito que transamos mais do que muitos casais, e inclusive, falei e expliquei que não sou a pessoa que mais ama sexo no mundo, gosto muito de preliminares, ficar atiçando e etc, mas, para fazer o ato em si tenho que estar realmente no clima pra rolar.
Depois da conversa ele continuou trazendo isso a tona nas brigas e me sinto mal porquê as vezes ele fala como se fosse minha obrigação satisfazer ele todo dia e algumas vezes eu faço isso só pra evitar brigas. O que eu deveria fazer?

So idk if anyone else has experienced this, maybe it’s a phenomenon of living in this new day and age where there’s so much opportunity, so many types of jobs, programs etc.
But I find that there’s soooo much career policing. Like if you mention you like kids and want to be a teacher the average person, not even a teacher, will say; “oh well they don’t make that much money, they barely make a living, you need to marry rich or have a side hustle”. Okay. Now you say “m I might consider being a dentist!” And then you hear “well, they end up with severe neck and hand pain by their mid 50s! Don’t do that!” Okay. Now if I say “I might become a lawyer, there’s a lot of versatile jobs you can get with a JD” the response is “law is too oversaturated. You will never find a job”
I understand people are trying to be realistic, but seriously? Like almost every time I’ve explored careers and talked about it with older adults this is what I hear. I even had a man tell me “you should only try to go into medicine since you’re in STEM and it’s the only stable profession that pays well” obviously the entire world can’t do the same job, so why is there so much disdain for these other clearly respectable, well-paying, and high-rated professions? I’m sorry but how many unemployed lawyers do you even know? Injured dentists? Teachers living below the poverty line? I feel like this is exaggerated so much and it’s so discouraging to current students. Like damn, at least help or offer constructive input or don’t say anything at all.
Also by the way;
- you can become disabled and injured without being a dentist, mechanic, construction worker etc
- you can be poor without being a teacher and earn way less
- you can be unemployed in literally any single field.
SORRY for the long rant guys. Graduating is taking its toll on me lmao. But feel free to discuss below.
