Hey everyone,
Over time, I’ve grown really comfortable with my hairstyle. I used to have a sidecut, but I eventually let the sides grow out, and I was pretty happy with it. However, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed that the hair on the sides of my head—especially near my ears and sideburns—has become weak, brittle, and thin. These shorter hairs constantly stick out because they’re too short to be tied into my ponytail.
I’ve always had extremely coarse, frizzy, and dry hair, but at least I used to have thick, voluminous hair. While that was a blessing in some ways, it also made it incredibly hard to manage. Now, with some parts thinning and sticking out like a plucked chicken, and my receding hairline becoming more noticeable, I feel like my hairstyle isn’t working for me anymore.
I’ve attached some photos of how my hair looks in daily life. When I want to look polished, I usually wash my hair with very hot water and comb it back into a tight bun. This forces my hair to lie flat, which I love because I really like the sleek look. But even this trick is becoming less effective, no matter how hot the water is or how much I comb. The short, broken hairs near my temples and at the nape of my neck just won’t stay in place anymore.
So, here’s my dilemma: What should I do? Should I go back to a sidecut? I don’t want anything too extreme because my last sidecut left barely any hair on the sides, and that was a bit too much. I also have no idea what kinds of sidecuts exist and what would actually suit me.
Another thing I worry about is that if I don’t shave up to the top, leaving too much hair on the sides, my thick and coarse hair might just stick out at a weird 90-degree angle. I hope this makes sense—it’s hard to describe.

2025.01.30 08:29 LilKittenAliceOF Forgot to post yesterday morning, but woke up to find I made it into the $1 club!
 | 16 parcels in (now 17, and 1st badge after the day), and I'm now steadily making $0.5/day after 42 days 🥰 And I got to make my first withdrawal towards completing my challenges! I'm sad though, I'm 2 away from completing it, and I don't think I'll quite make the last one 😔 When the next one starts, I'll be better educated to reach the end though! 💪🏽 I just wanted to say I appreciate you all for the kind advice and sense of community, it's nice. So far, aside from people buying parcels in the middle of someone's square or their art, it seems like everyone gets along well and we're all here to support one another, and I appreciate that! I've been struggling with a bit of PPD, and AE/the community has given me something to look forward to, even if it is, in retrospect, kind of a silly thing to keep one going. I know I will never become rich playing this by any means, but finances have been hard, and I've been stuck as a SAHM without the ability to help with bills, so it's just been nice to at least feel like I'm doing something, and the arcade has been helpful in keeping me busy instead of just sitting in the dark, no sounds, no TV, not even on my phone, just being sad when my kids would nap or visit family, like I was doing literally 42 days ago. 🥲 I found this through Misplay, while I was trying to make a quick buck to try to get my kids and partner something for Christmas, and while I didn't reach that goal, I'm glad to be here and I think as long as AE keeps earning me points there, too, it's all the more worth it, even if it's a slow process. Or maybe if things start looking up, maybe I'll use those winnings for the AEC rewards, who knows. So, long story made as short as possible. I’m 31, live in a smallish Midwest town. Have Autism and ADHD
Have gone to college and gotten a 2 year Associate’s degree in general studies.
Around the mid 2010’s after college I got a couple of jobs thanks to my local vocational rehab. But then in 2017 I got my longest job to date. This is also when some medical issues presented themselves.
From 2017-early-2020 I had a job as a package handler.
Anyway I slowly started developing a breathing condition that made it majorly hard to breathe, especially while working. It got so bad that I have to wear oxygen 24/7. It’s now under control and I’m feeling a lot better thanks to medicine, but I still should be on air 24/7 technically.
So after one of my worst days at work (due to being tired out,) I had to quit because my doctor was trying to figure out the cause of the issue and said that my workplace could’ve been the cause.
Since then I’ve gotten disability for my condition but it’s so low it’s hard to work with.
I don’t have a current car either because my first car got into an accident and used cars were skyrocketing the past few years.
And so basically this is where I’m at now. I’m staying at home with a relative, making sure to pay my own section of the bills with what I can…
But I feel so useless. I don’t want this to be the end of my progression in life. I wish I could find a cheap used car, and/or find some kind of job/work that makes a small enough amount of money so that it serves as a boost to my finances without going over the disability limit.
Not sure how to proceed in life but I wish I was productive and I hate not doing much. It kills me that I get to coast through life like my childhood self might’ve expected and I can’t do more.
There are a few things I’m good at or want to expand my knowledge of that could come into play here.
- I’m a really good writer when I put my mind to it.
- I’m considering learning how to digitally draw
- I’m really good at creative thinking and memorization.
I just am not sure!

So I just recently built my computer that was sort of a Frankenstein's monster build of my old pc and I'm trying to play Fortnite. I've read a bunch that AMD cards are infamously bad with Fortnite but idk if it means this bad. I'm on 1440p and getting about 40 FPS native TSR with everything set to epic/lumen high with hardware ray tracing off. My GPU is sitting at around 98% usage and my board power only gets up to around 200W when it says that its limit is 245W. I don't know if this is the average performance for a system with my specs but I just figured I'd ask cause any answer I find online is very vague.
GPU - RX 7700 XT XFX Qick
CPU - R7 5700X3D
RAM - 2x16 GB 3200Mhz Corsair Vengeance

So I've had my Quest 3S for a while and it's been great so far. However, I stumbled upon something weird after getting an FPS counter in game. On 72, 80 and 90hz options, the counter says 72hz. This doesn't really affect gameplay as it does run smoother on 80hz and 90hz compared to 72hz. The real issue I encountered was with 120hz. Whenever I set my headset to 120hz, the FPS in game goes unlocked, making the game unplayable as my PC prioritizes the framerate over the actual functionality. Limiting the game to 120hz via Nvidia only makes it insanely laggy no matter the framerate. Has anyone else with Q3S experienced the same thing?

I was wondering whether other Latin Americans have faced with mood or emotional (in general any mental change) changes during winter while living (eiter visiting) in a foreign country.
Based on my experience of living in Russia for like 8 years, during this time I have rarely seen any changes in my mental stability due to the weather. I do know of locals that have a hard time coping with it durign each winter season, specially those with some sort of depression.
I saw my mental health affected once due to having cought a terrible ear infection and not having my family around chearing me up as it used to be, during those events the grade of shading made myt mental health even worst!, but that was due to the context, in general I don't see winter affecting my mental health, I actually love winter time.
At the beginning of this winter season I started taking vitamin D3 (due to my levels of it being SUPER LOW) and it makes a huge difference, you get your energy levels pumped up

I know there’s a lot of theories been out there but when i was rewatching season 2 trailer, something new caught my eye. So you know the scene where Helena is watching Helly and Mark kiss on the camera (we saw in episode 2), and Helena has this envious face as if she wishes it for herself. Now couple scenes later in the trailer, we see a glimpse of a steamy scene? Between Helly/Helena and who I assume is Mark. The timing of it and the same kind of look on her face during that short scene made me wonder if it is Helena infiltrating as Helly and even ends up having sex with Mark (if that’s what they’re doing!?) maybe a reach.
