I have been doing some self reflection lately, and I'm starting to wonder if I have ever actually felt sexual attraction.
I used to think I did, because I've always thought the human body is absolutely gorgeous. I like erotic art, and I like both watching and reading porn, as well as drawing pin-ups myself. I love people watching, and I can stare at pretty people for quite some time. I think photos and paintings of naked people are beautiful. So I always thought that all those were clear signs of sexual attraction.
But lately I've been thinking about it, and maybe the way I look at people isn't all that different from how I look at a flower or a pretty landscape? I have been told that if I feel like touching someone that's sexual attraction, and when I look at someone pretty I sometimes wonder what it would be like to touch their skin, but I'm a very tactile person by nature and I do the same thing whenever I look at a glossy piece of ceramic or a rug with an interesting texture. So idk if that's a good metric for me.
I have also never cared much about someone's appearance when it comes to dating cause like, I mean, being with someone who's pretty is nice, but it's also so utterly trivial to me. I have always seen relationships as more about the companionship and the trust, the reliance, etc. So I'm always weirded out when appearance is a decisive factor for someone when it comes to dating, or when people get jealous if their partner think someone else is attractive, because, like, it's just appearance, so who cares, right?
But that's obviously not how it is for most people. And the more I talk with my friends about their views on sexual attraction the more alien the whole concept becomes. Because like, it's like they're describing something really intense or overpowering, and it's just never been like that for me. I will look at someone pretty and say "Wow, they're so pretty!" But that's like, that's all, I don't feel hot or burning inside or anything of the like. I just think they're really pretty.
So idk. I'm now wondering if I ever actually felt sexual attraction or if what I thought was sexual attraction was actually something else. Just, what is the difference between aesthetic and sexual attraction? How can you tell?

2025.01.30 08:40 Shx3p sprained ankle not healed yet, is pain normal?
I sprained my ankle back on December 17th, 2024 after tripping on the dogs gate ( silly, i know.. ) and ever since then ive had uneven walking and extreme discomfort with lingering pain. When the injury happened I went to the doctor to get an xray and they said I had a very minor sprain with no tears or breaks. The doctor had said I should be alright in a week or two, but the pain never went away. The little circle joint on my ankle hurts when I apply pressure to it and when I try to apply ice to it, it still hurts. I have no insurance at the moment so im not sure what to do. Will this pain stay forever? Will it go away eventually? How long will it take if so? ANY advice is appreciated...
