I absolutely love my job, I could go on forever about the benefits of being an autistic RBT with the experience I have, but that’s a whole separate post on its own lol.
There are rare times I end my work day shaking, sobbing, and throwing up outside of my car, but yesterday was one of them. How do you other autistic folks cope when you hear people talking poorly about you without them even understanding that they are? When adults make ignorant statements like claiming autistic kids/people are faking their struggles, or that autistic people are just being manipulative/lazy/rude for showing harmless autistic traits, how do you not let that get to you?
My work has only been praised by everyone, but once the adults all think we are alone, the things they say make my stomach instantly turn. It horrifies me the way people view autistic folks, even if it’s their own family membechild. I am extremely lucky to have an amazing BCBA, plus a loving community at home for emotional support as well. I was at least able to stand up for myself in the moment, say flat out that I will not run programs I feel are just forcing allistic behavior, and it’s my hard boundary. I am so heartbroken that I can’t change the way people see autistic people even when there is SO MUCH to celebrate!
Thanks for hearing my vent, I’m just tired, restless, and needed to get it off of my chest to see if I’m alone in this. TYIA ❤️

Saw Don Stephenson’s performance as Doc Brown on tour and it was indescribable. I cannot describe it, it’s neither positive nor negative. Couldn’t hear a word he said yet was captivated by the strange vibes he put off. At points he contorts his mouth so far I thought I was watching an animatronic with rubber skin about to tear away. Going to see the show again because I thought it was astoundingly good for what it was, and because I need to make sense of Doc’s performance.

So I sold my 02 Yamaha V max and I really want one or the other. My other bikes are a Husqvarna woods bike and a HDXr1200. After buying the Harley the Yamaha just kinda sat so that's gone . I love riding the HD on twisty back roads for a few hours but it being a Harley I think I can do better . Still love that bike thought. I test drove the Kawi in a urban setting . I'm by no means a good rider either just wondering if anyone has experience with both before I pull the trigger down the road. Thanks for your time.
