i'm a pharmacy graduate with a latin honor, and recently, i've been feeling lost when it comes to making a decision between working at a small public hospital or a large private hospital.
here's the situation: the public hospital i'm considering is a pediatric hospital with a bed capacity of 64. the main reason i'm considering it is because it's close to my location (20 minutes away) and it's a public establishment, which I think offers higher pay than private ones. however, it's not a well-known hospital.
on the other hand, the private hospital i've been prioritizing has a bed capacity of 800. the main reason i want to work there is because it’s a well-known hospital, which would likely offer more opportunities and learning experiences. the downside is that it’s about an hour away and may offer a smaller salary. However, they offer better benefits.
a few days ago, my father advised me not to waste my potential (as someone who graduated with distinctions) and to go for the bigger hospitals. I agree with him to some extent. But, at the same time, I think starting at a small public hospital that’s close to me, pays well, and has fewer responsibilities, would be a good start for a fresh grad.
on the other hand, working at the large private hospital would provide more growth opportunities in the long run, especially since I’m also planning to go abroad (if the opportunity arises).
i really need some insights on this, because it feels like my choice on my first job will dictate my career growth.
p.s. just my genuine cents, hindi lang naman siguro ako yung nakakafeel na deserve natin yung papantayan potentials natin di ba? it's like "you wouldn't want it that much if it weren't for you", if you have the potential might as well go for the big??? 'yan talaga thoughts ko lately and i feel like if sa small public hospi ako parang hindi mapantayan yung growth na gusto ko within me iykyk, but ayun nga kasi dahil sa pros and cons between public and private nalilito na ko 😭

So don’t know where to start exactly but since i’ve started experiencing continuous feelings of distress all day long(started 6 years ago),i’ve resorted to coping mechanisms that are unhealthy to say the least…(doomscrolling, obsessive googling for everything i am curious about, binge eating, maladaptive daydreaming, vaping, smoking انا بجد جربت كل حاجة و في كمان حاجات منها ساعدتني في فترة بس دايما مش بكمل لان الموضوع قلب معايا بادمان مخليني شبه استحالة اوقف السلوك ده غير لو حد من غير مبالغة حبسني في اودة لمدة شهر من غير اي اجهزة او اي حاجة من الحاجات التانية اللي قلتها و ده طبعا مش عملي فوسط الحياة و الشغل و الدراسة الخ الخ. اللي بحاول اقوله ان فكرة ان انا اعمل الحاجة اللي عايزاها بس بشكل قليل بقت مستحيلة لان انا بتصرف زي المدمنين. Once i start i cant stop… taking a bite won’t cut it… taking a whiff would just bring on more … one more video will drag a thousand more. I have become extreme and i know the only way to stop is to quit all these habits cold turkey until i heal my brain from this rot completely. I already have an addictive personality and that has been the case since i was 4 so i was already predisposed apparently . لو حد عنده اي فكرة او جل او حتى رؤية للموضوع بوجهة نظر تانية ياريت تفيدني. انا حقيقي كان نفسي اقول اد ايه الموضوع مأثر في كل جوانب لدرجة اني لو كملت كدة انا مستقبلي و حياتي هتضيع. كان نفسي أوضح اكتر بس البوست طول مني اوي😂 /?Any advice

Raynes Park line was heavily delayed this morning, broken train on platform 1 with train solid on 2, platform between busy.
Woman has managed to squeeze onto the train when she realises that she’s left her purse on the seat of the broken unit (quiet gasps across the carriage). She call out to the people waiting the train to depart and fellow passengers retrieve the purse and hand it across to her just before we pull out of the station. All good, smiles and nods all round.
Back to staring at our phones. Happy ending.
