2025.01.30 19:05 Melpickles Husband didn't file on time... now we need form 1-290B
Hey all,
So my husband didn't file his form on time to get his replacement "green card"... and we just got a letter in the mail that his petition to renew/replace has been denied.
The letter says that because the I-551 expired, and they did not receive his form to replace it on time, that he is INELIGIBLE to be issued a replacement Permanent Resident Card. Thus, the request has been denied.
The letter goes on to say that if we believe that this is an error, we can file Form I-290B Notice of Appeal or Motion within 30 calendar days of this decision. Fair enough.
I have been looking through the 1-290B form online and it states that he needs to provide/attach evidence as to why he is making this appeal...
I would love any advice as to what kind of language or evidence they are looking for. How should we word this to explain that he just simply didn't file it on time and realized his card expired when it was already too late!.... He submitted the forms as he was supposed to, but it was received by USCIS too late...
Should he/Could he provide proof that he is working a full time job as the "evidence"?... tax returns?... any evidence that he is just busy working hard and making a living here, to help support his case?...
Any guidance is appreciated. I don't believe this is a big enough deal to hire a lawyer, but I wanted to reach out here and see is anyone else has experienced this and has some advice. Thanks in advance!

2025.01.30 19:05 Oceano477 Small pneumothorax - Observation approach
Experienced my first pneumothorax 10 days ago and was diagnosed after going to ER a week later due to chest pain and lightheadedness.
They found a small 2.6cm pneumothorax and sent me home with a follow up CXR 24hrs later (yesterday), which showed a reduction down to 1.5cm! Was told tube was likely not needed as it showed signs of self resolution. If symptoms persisted for another 4 or so days they said to repeat xray and possibly go in for drainage.
Fast forward to today, symptoms got worse and chest tightness and pain are now constant and I feel out of breath. I am just wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience where they opted for observation and conservative treatment and whether or not you have ended up needing a chest tube. I am super freaked out and I don’t know what to do, every trip to the ER is several hundreds of $$$ and takes a massive toll on my mental health. I also can’t afford to not work and I am really hoping it will resolve on its own. Could it be normal that symptoms get worse if it’s resolving by itself or should I rush to the ER again?
I appreciate any advice and I hope if you’re going through something similar it gets better soon, this sucks.

 | Grundsätzlich ist es Spielgeld. Ungefähr 15% meines Cashvermögens, also das, was ich jederzeit zur Verfügung hätte. Ich interessiere mich Grundsätzlich für Aktien, den Markt und habe derzeit eine monatliche Investitionsrate von knapp 7.000 Euro. Ich würde bei 20% des Cashvermögens stoppen mit der Investition in Aktien. Daneben sind noch etwa 10% in ETF (70 All World/30S&P 500) - diese werden nach der Erreichung des 20% Ziels weiter befüllt. Investiert wird seit Mitte Oktober letzten Jahres (aus Rücklagen und Lohn). Zusätzlich kommen noch Immobilien, die etwa das 10 Fache des Cashvermögens ausmachen (derzeit aber keinen Cashflow produzieren). Größeres Erbe steht noch aus. Daher ist es wirklich nur zum Spielen und ich wäre auch bei Totalverlust nicht wirklich traurig drüber. Geld kommt und geht. Grundsätzlich soll das Portfolio eher in Wachstumsbranchen gehen, einige Aktien wurden auf ATH gekauft (time in the market beats timing in the market). Ich möchte gerne noch ein bisschen mehr Richtung Konsum/Pharma gehen, wobei ich hier noch nicht die richtigen Positionen gefunden habe. Grundsätzlich investiere ich nur in Branchen von denen ich Ahnung habe, weil großes Interesse/Wissen aus Studium, privatem oder beruflichem Umfeld besteht.
