I could use some advice from my fellow lab tech people. I've been in a lab environment for 4 years now but I'm at a point where I'm ready to do something else. I don't envy the people in higher positions than me and don't see myself doing their jobs. I also have GOT to get on a normal schedule. I CAN'T do 12-hrs or nightshifts anymore. What does our skills translate well to? Probably something analytical, but hopefully not sitting around all day. Anyone else make the switch who can throw me some ideas/inspiration?

Would an airliner-sized plane ever be below, say, 3000 feet four miles after taking off in clear weather? This is what I saw in Washington DC this morning. I was driving eastbound on East Capitol Street not far from where it exits DC into Maryland. The plane was climbing at a low angle from right to left. Andrews AFB is about four miles to the south.

Hello,
I recently asked on StackOverflow why a form using ASP .Net 8 Razor Pages (Not MVC, Not Blazor) fails to validate ModelState on a Bound Class when a multipart/form-data file upload is used on a form. The person who instructed me on fixing my code so it works really wasn't clear why the issue happened.

Surely there is a way to have a form with a file upload feature return a Valid ModelState, without having to manipulate the ModelState response by using ModelState.Remove during the validation process?

Do you think those tools are worth it for the price they are asking? What do you find lacking in such tools?
I use Gamalytics, and I like it overall. One thing I'd prefer is for it to have more information on the accuracy of it's month 1 sales prediction, based on the sales data it has itself.

I drive a Ford Explorer and invested in the 'expensive' tires- the Wildpeak A/T Trails that are good in bad weather, etc. I drive maybe 40 minutes total a day 4-5 days a week on gravel roads to get to work (I'm in the country)- Ill cruise between 40-60 mph. I get flats from nails and screws and acts of god I swear every other week and have been fighting for my life with these flats and other tire issues.
About 8 months ago I had a flat that required a new tire- they told me with AWD I needed all 4 new ones, but all the tires were recently replaced and about 9 months old, so they said it would be fine if we only replaced the back two.
I've gotten multiple flats since then- ones that happen without nails, ones that happened without, etc. I swear they just won't stay inflated, since only half the time they seem to find a nail. Otherwise I just bring it in every week just to have them refilled.
Finally yesterday I had a flat on the Back L that I didn't notice at first and drove 2 miles on, so they told me it was kaput.
They told me the Back R had tread that was over half gone, the two front were bald, and the Back L was dead. So I need 4 brand new tires which will set me back about $1400. I'll have spent close to $3000 in the past 16 months on just replacing tires.
My other family members that drive these dirt roads say their tires last them about 3 years and they purchase the less expensive tires, so I'm just incredibly confused as to why mine are jinxed. The back R one has half the tread gone and its only been 8 months.
Is this typical or am I cursed? I feel like before these tires I've never had issues like this before. I want to blame the nails but they don't always find one, and I feel like the tread is going away fast too. I swear I don't think im driving like a maniac.

I’m sure this question has been asked here a lot so forgive me. I’m very interested in putting down a deposit for the R2. One thing that’s giving me pause is there seems to be a lot of public concern about Rivian’s long term viability (largely based on the share price, which we know isn’t always the best barometer).
Do any of you who currently own the car have any concern over the company going out of business, and what you would do with it then? The success of the R2 is certainly critical to their future as a legit competitor in the space and everyone who has one of the existing models today seems to love it. Just wondering if any concern about the future is legitimately founded

Has anyone tried fine-tuning an existing LORA? You find a lora you like but think it could be better. In principle, you should be able to start with the existing lora and update it using your own dataset. This seems tricky in diffusion-pipe at least where the checkpoints are a different format from the final safetensors (also I think you would be missing some optimizer state but I suspect that's not a big deal).
